He looked up at his gorgeous wife who was fast asleep, the events of the day had understandably worn her out, as he watched her chest rise and fall his heart swelled. He had never been so proud of anyone as he was of her in this moment. She had just given him the greatest gift of all, a beautiful baby girl. He knew from now on his sole purpose in life was to be a good husband and father and he wouldn't have it any other way, his girls would always come first. He gently placed his newborn daughter in the crib before crossing over to lay beside Rachel, she stirred a little and cuddled into him before letting sleep overcome her once again. A few hours later she opened her eyes to find her beloved husband cradling their daughter and tears of pure joy formed in her eyes as a smile overtook her lips. She let the tears fall as she spoke

"we really are so lucky Eddie, she's just perfect and I'm so glad we get to go on this crazy journey together. I love you and I love our baby girl" Her words moved him to tears and he could barely speak as he replied

"Rach I'm so proud of you, you were absolutely incredible today and I'm so glad everything went smoothly, I love you and our daughter more than anything and I will spend the rest of my life making sure you are both safe and happy".

He carefully carried their precious bundle of joy over to her and sat on the edge of the bed as they both stared at the tiny girl.

"Now the hard part, what are we going to name her" Eddie asked quietly,

"oh sure this is the hard part you try giving birth to a 7lbs baby" Rachel joked as she playfully hit his arm.

"Your right I'm sorry" he said through laughter as he kissed her cheek. Rachel leaned forward so her chin was resting on his shoulder

"she's so like you" she whispered into his ear and he chuckled softly.

"Are you kidding Rach she's absolutely gorgeous and that's definitely all down to you". He turned to his wife and kissed her passionately, after a while she broke away,

"God Eddie what was that for"

"nothing I just really love you" he said staring into her eyes

"hmm and so you should" she joked. "I hope you know I'm waiting for a seriously good push present",

"Well I don't think you hinted enough he joked as they turned back to their daughter".

"Seriously though what should we call her" Rachel asked quietly,

"well I thought we could make her middle name Elizabeth because its been in my family for generations" he whispered.

"That's so sweet I like that idea" Rachel responded. 'I was thinking either Aubrey, Maria or Sienna".

"Wow Rach you really have thought about this" he laughed she just smiled as he tried out all the names.

"I think Aubrey Elizabeth Lawson sounds perfect". "That settles it then, our perfect little family she said snuggling into her husband".
