When Percy said he had a slim chance of living he meant he had the most minuscule chance of chances. Artemis was well known for her love of turning men, or even boys, who had come across her camp into cute fuzzy little jackalopes and brutally hunting them down. He could only hope she mellowed out along with the rest of Western Civilization.

He'd heard the legends of her setting bear traps for them and skinning them alive while they were stuck in the trap. Or using them as target practice, if they were careful, the animal could be alive for hours being pierced by animals. He'd even heard about her using an early form of crucifixion, a torture so painful the Romans who invented it came up with a new word to describe the tremendous pain it causes.

He had just killed a monster they were after, that was a bit more than accidentally finding their camp. It would be even worse if Artemis decided he 'stole' their kill. Death would be a blessing.

Luckily, or probably not, for him something came over the hill.

It had spinning blades at the top, was able to fly, and had a lot of guns, as he learned when it started shooting at them. He had seen ideas for these during the war, he even heard of them being used to spot for artillery, but to see one in person? He could only marvel at human ingenuity. Helicopters, he believed the were called.

All the hunters and demigods scattered. Everyone rushed to find cover from the bullets raining down on the clearing. He dived to the ground, where snow cushioned his fall, and grabbed his gun. It wasn't anything like what was on the hovering vehicle but it still would do something, hopefully.

He took steady aim and started shooting, aiming for the glass where the pilots were or the box where the rotating blades were attached to the craft.

He shot his entire magazine into it but it didn't seem to do anything, the machine was still up in the air unaffected. Except for attracting the pilot's attention, he rolled like a log to the side, leaving behind his empty gun, which was shredded by fully automatic rounds.

The trail of bullets followed him to his new position. He had a tree between himself and it, but the tree was shredded instantly, not even lasting a second. He was able to scramble into a group of bushes and the helicopter lost interest in him, allowing him to focus. Their mistake.

The helicopter was making extremely extremely low passes in an attempt to hit anyone, extremely close to the snow. Their mistake. It seemed they didn't realize who they were fighting, snow is just frozen water.

He felt a large pulling in his gut as he took control of the snow below the vehicle, the snow formed the shape of a hand and wrapped around it, he tried to 'harden' the snow by not allowing it to be moved out of the way of the blades, but they were to thin and he didn't have control of such a degree over snow. He was out of practice.

The pilots were panicking and trying to lift their craft away from the ground, but he was able to hold them in one place. He wasn't able to see what they were trying next as snow covered the window.

Only slightly bothered that his efficient plan wasn't going to work he decided to brute force it. He pulled the snow inwards and a terrible cracking sound was heard, and the helicopter was crushed into a small uneven metal cube. A large amount of liquid came from the cube, the mixture of blood and oil turned the snow below it into a brown sludge.

He hopped up and brushed the snow off him, he could have used his powers to do so, but he was being a little dramatic. The demigods stared at his display of power and even some of the hunters seemed shocked, though they tried not to show it.

"Mortals." Artemis scoffed at the helicopter, but it seemed to distract her from the fact he killed the Manticore before she arrived though, so he wasn't complaining.

"Come demigods, and you Spartan, we'll get you back to your little camp." Artemis said as if that explained everything. Percy definitely didn't know of any camp, but didn't comment figuring he could learn later. Apparently it did so for the demigods though, they just nodded along and seemed pleased at the news.

He went to go sit down on a snow covered log next to a campfire that was set up by some hunter. It was far away from everyone and was quite peaceful. The perfect spot for him.

While he was waiting around the demigods sent to rescue the children eventually made their way to him looking very intent on questioning him. He really didn't feel like being harassed and interrogated by some demigods and a satyr who tried to sneak into a school dance with their matching orange shirts on.

Seriously, somebody spots you? Everyone's cover is blown, because they know everyone else wearing the same shirt is with you.

Although the girl dress in all the black with the leather jacket might have fit in.

He pretended to be meditating by sitting cross-legged in the snow with his eyes closed, he felt the snow shift where they stepped praying to many deities they would just leave him be.

They walked up to him and waited, expectantly. It was a good five minutes before one of the demigods, the daughter of Athena, grew bored of waiting. She started to speak, her words didn't reach him in his focus, his abilities took a lot of focus. He wouldn't have answered her anyways though.

When she realized he wasn't paying her any attention she started getting irritated. Deciding she had enough she reached out to strike him before the other female demigod grabbed her hand mid-swing. The older girl, got into a hushed argument with the daughter of Athena and left the boy, who he assumed was another child of Poseidon, off to the left watched on awkwardly.

They of course did not know he noticed the attempt, he still had his eyes closed. Unbeknownst to them, he was able to sense the liquid in their blood move as they moved their bodies, it was incredibly useful. Soon after Artemis called them to her tent, leaving him to mull over his thoughts alone, he pulled out the photograph and studied the faces of the people on their long and hard, trying to remember everything.

The female demigod he was supposed to rescue, who he later learned was named Bianca, joined the hunt. This was good for him, and also bad for him. The boy he rescued was wasn't faring to well, Nico's sister had just abandoned him for the hunt. Even thought that meant one less demigod to take care of, it also meant he had to deal with a child who's only close relative abandoned them.

He was able to cheer him up a bit by telling the boy about his young Spartan years, but only if the boy promised not to tell anyone. He also knew a lot about Greek Mythology from a card game he played called Mythomagic. Putting him one step ahead of his peers.

During all of this he was trying to figure out who his parent was, but he didn't have any meaningful aura, the scent of lotus flowers overpowered all his attempts of figuring it out.

The boy was able to tell him that his mother was mortal, but could not remember anything about his father. Besides that he only had visual clues to go off of, the boy had dark hair and dark eyes, so that could range from Thanatos, Hades or even Hephaestus. It wasn't much to go off of. The olive skin the boy had he could only guess he got from his mother, he didn't know of any god with that skin complexion.

Figuring he couldn't figure out more he decided to observe the camp, hunters were picking up the tents they had quickly put down, looks like they were leaving.

The capture the flag game was a joke, the campers had tried to use stealth of all things to steal the flag. STEALTH. Against a bunch of immortal girls who stalked animals for a living, that was sure to end well.

There was also a problem with them not making the plan adaptable, at all. Everyone had to stay in their exact spots or face the blame of throwing the game, he had immediately ignored all of this and moved to the side of the forest where he would just observe.

He also noticed that the daughter of Athena, Annabeth, had put him in the direct path of the hunters all by himself. The only reason for that would be an ambush, but she didn't plan one, so it was quite obvious that she placed him out their to get beaten up by the hunters.

She had also put Nico out on his lonesome, trying to figure out his parent in some convoluted way. Probably because she thought because he was in extreme peril his powers would activate. He hoped the hunters didn't hurt him to badly, fortunately his sister would probably protect him. He doubted she'd allow them to do anything more than tying him up, probably not even knock him unconscious.

He extended his senses outward and noticed a large group of bodies, who could only be hunters, run through his old post. Good thing he didn't stick around. He was confident in his fighting abilities, but there were about fifteen in that small group, he doubted he could defeat them.

He almost laughed when he sensed the group that was supposed to sneak in and grab the flag being stalked by hunters, completely oblivious. It seemed so ridiculous, like a fish being hunted by a seal, who was being hunted by a shark. There's always a bigger fish.

He sat down on a decent sized rock, moss acted like a cushion. The forest was made of many large pine trees, each one having thick trunks and many branches that blocked out most of the sunlight by providing shade.

He started messing around with the creek at his feet, it was a small thing maybe two feet deep at bigger parts, but it worked pretty well for a boundary. He took a bit of water and started to mold it into things.

First a pegasus, flying through the air like such an elegant creature should. Next a small knight fighting with a dragon. Then a wolf pack hunting down a large elk, he released control of the water when he heard footsteps heading towards where he was sitting. It was coming from the campers side, but they were to light to be one of the heavy footed camper, a hunter then.

That's when the hunter walked in to his view. He wasn't in a mood to fight her, after all, some of them were millennia old, so he spoke. "I don't want any trouble, go ahead and pass by me, I won't fight you."

That's when he got a look of the hunter's face, he felt like a freight train had just bulldozed into him at top speed. "Zoe?"

His voice cracked halfway through, and Zoe stared at him.

"Percy, how? Y-you're dead." Zoe looked just as shocked to see him. Actually she looked more like she'd seen a ghost, she probably felt like she had.

"I uh... never died, the gods put me back to sleep." He didn't think he'd ever see her again.

"Wait, what do you mean back asleep, you're part of the divine world?" Zoe stepped closer to him looking over him, when she saw him after the Manticore she thought he was just a descendant of his, maybe his nephew or grand-nephew, but he was actually there, alive.

"I'm from Ancient Sparta." Percy said, he really didn't know how to hand this, so he just dropped the bomb.

She dropped the flag she was carrying and practically tackled him in a hug. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Percy chuckled, he never realized she was part of their world at that time. "In my defense you never told me either."

"I guess that's fair enough." She said, tears started falling off her face, though these were not from sadness, but rather from joy. For a long while they just stood their, hugging and then they disengaged.

Before something seemed to get through to her. "Wait did you say Sparta?"

Percy scratched the back of his head and let out a nervous laugh. Zoe narrowed her eyes at him and suddenly he didn't feel so safe.

"Umm..." He was sweating at the look she was giving him now, it was slightly nerve racking, he vividly remembered her wiping the floor with him a while back. "Don't you have a flag to capture?"

She shot to her feet, remembering her goal of the game, the hunters had a seventy-two win streak and she wasn't about to lose it. So with a promise to meet later she grabbed the flag and raced to her side of the creek. He watched her go with a smile on his face.

Maybe it wasn't all bad.

The support for this story has been outstanding, really appreciate all the kind reviews. If you have a question feel free to ask by pm or review. Next chapter won't come out so fast, I had this one halfway finished when I posted the first one. I also got rid of his M1 Garand because why not, I'd rather have him fight with Riptide.

Stay safe.
