I could not resist; this story came to my mind and I wrote it. There already are several of this kind online but nonetheless, here we are. May you can´t get enough. May just curious.

Whatever the cause, welcome to a story about my favourite character in the Marvel Universe. I am quite new to it either, that´s why I learned most of it out of fanfictions. But do not worry, I have at least seen all three Thor movies and I read a few comics.

I do not own any characters used, nor the world that was invented. However, it a story formed entirely in my head, that is why I do own all that is new and was added to this part of Loki´s story.

Enjoy.

Chapter 1: Ice cold

Loki wonders why he decided to follow the hot-headed god that was his brother. Thor made up his mind to find out what caused the Frost Giants to show up at his coronation. The whole plan was doomed from the beginning. They count six asgardians, the god of mischief included. No chance they would stand against the creatures that await them. So, Loki instructed one guard to let his father know about the plan of his brother. Unfortunately, the urgency of his order was misunderstood and the bifrost reached without the allfather showing up. He dared one view around. Still, no Odin.

Loki exhales and looks at Thor. The tall man in front them, Heimdall requests to know about their errand. No doubt, the guard of the bifrost already knew what they were up too but he waited for them to tell him. Being best with words Loki draw near to Heimdall to inherit the talking. A smile on his face he speaks up, "May let us travel..." the tall man interrupts him.

" Are you not clothed too light?" questions the guard.

"Pardon..." Loki began. Too late, he realizes that Heimdall indeed knew they were going to Jotunheim.

As ever, his beloved brother performs, before Loki collected himself. "We will travel to Jotunheim, Heimdall. Regardless, of your opinion," Thor declares.

"Never a living being escaped my view. I am most curious to know why. I approve your journey," replies the guard much to the surprise of Loki. Who would have thought that the guard of the bifrost agrees with his brother? Well, it was as always. No asgardian could refuse a request of the god of thunder. On the other hand, the people of Asgard do not trust him at all. That is why Loki received the title god of mischief.

Thor smiles and clasps the shoulder of Heimdall, then they all went inside. Again, the Warriors Three each shot him a condescending glance and Volstagg adds," Not your day, silversmith?" He focuses on the back of his brother and steps inside the bifrost. Could they not once stop to call him like that? Yes, there was a time when this nickname suited him but he improved. For years, no single lie passed his lips but obviously that did not matter. The Warriors Three and Sif were Thor's friends after all and Loki ever was the one who needs to endure their mocks. When he decided to counter, then he was to blame. So, he remains silent and could only hope they forget about his presence. All asgardians, position themselves and Heimdall activates the bifrost with help of his sword. The young god already misses the warmth of Asgard.

As soon as they land on Jotunheim, home of the Frost Giants, an unpleasant cold greets them. Weird was that Loki did not really feel that cold as suspected. Not inside him at least. However, the cold freezes his skin. Thor, as he ever does, took lead and the warriors follow him. The sorcerer carefully joins them, scanning the country. Just like it was described in books he read. A bleak and sad realm. No match against the beauty of their home. In front them lay the residence of Laufey, leader of the Frost Giants. When one could call it a residence. Similar to the land, it made a sad sight. Of course, they were watched. The nearer they drew, the more. Several of the inhabitants views them with hate visible in their eyes. Even from his position Loki could tell that. There was no need to be surprised. Jotunheim lost war against Asgard and Odin took something valuable from them. The Casket of Ancient Winters. His smirk was not seen. No wonder, they participated in his plan to ruin Thor's coronation. It was not meant to be dangerous for Asgard in any way. Not at all should someone get hurt and luckily no one were except for the guards. Something that went out of plan. All he wanted to do was to prove that his brother was not ready for the throne. As seen, right now, Thor was a warrior and no king. Indeed, Loki loves his brother dearly. He would do everything for him. Thor will be a great ruler one day but before that he needs to pass his try-outs. In the end, the god of thunder will thank him. He will understand why Loki did what he did.

Now, his oldest and only friend steps in front Laufey. "The son of Odin dares to come before me. How foolish of you Thor Odinson. It will be your death," the Frost Giant states.

"It will be the one of your kind, Laufey. But first explain yourself how your people invaded Asgard without being seen," replies Thor. This caused the ruler to laugh viciously. Loki could only shake his head about the behaviour of his brother. Not one diplomatic vein flew through Thor. By Odin's Beard he was talking to a king. An enemy but nonetheless a king. It would have been necessary to stay polite. Most of all, to not risk war with the Frost Giants. The truce between Asgard and Jotunheim was in danger. Loki could no longer stay non-involved.

He proceeds to Thor and mumbles, "Brother, believe me. We better go." Unfortunately, Thor did not listen.

"No Loki. We won't," the god answers. Addressed to Laufey he adds loud enough for all to hear," If you do not tell voluntary then I will use force." Oh no. The god of thunder reveals mjölnir and Frost Giants surround them.

How he dislikes the fighting. Loki prefers the diplomatic way to solve problems. One turns out unharmed when lead by good example. May he still could evade the roughest of battles. Thor and the others would be better without him anyway. He only joined them because Loki had hoped to be stopped by Odin. Hopefully, the allfather will show up soon. The god of mischief teleports himself to the edge of battle. However, the enemy awaited him. Luckily, there was enough time to create a doppelganger of him. The Frost Giant fell into the chasm while he waited behind a safe spot.

Again, they attack him. Loki materialises daggers and throw them. Unfortunately, he missed one and this Frost Giant drew too near. When the enemy touches his arm, it turns blue. Both were shocked and time passed. That...was...not...possible. Not...at...all. He...could...never... Well, better return to fighting. Loki once more produces a dagger and aims at the upper right of the Frost Giant. With a grim face, he watches the creature fall to the ground. To prevent this event from happen again he conjures gloves around his arms.

"Thor!" he shouts. It was highly time to go. Unfortunately, they could no longer. The Warriors Three and Sif were held tight in the arms of the enemy. Captured and forced to watch and not able to join the battle any more. Then something cold surrounds his body and Loki found himself in the arms of one of these creatures as well. Awesome, now his brother brought them in danger. Again. At least, he could still exhale and roll his eyes.
