Quick disclaimer: as we grew up, many of us probably realized that the Disney fairies are definitely not children in the movie, so this story may have adult themes and language, (but not so much sexual stuff.) Basically this story is an insight on Vidia, the fast flying fairy, and why her behavior in the first movie especially was so cold, but also a continuation from the last movie. The characters are based off of their movie personalities. Many of us know that people who have an attitude as strong as Vidia's probably had some stuff going on in their life, so this story is going to explore that as it always fascinated me. The timeline for this story is after the Tinkerbell and the Neverbeast movie. I do not own any of the characters except for when marked by an asterisk. This is my first story about the Disney Fairies, I am hoping to do one about each fairy. Vidia is my favorite so I'm starting with her. I hope you enjoy it.*
Chapter 1: Visitor
A Quiet EveningVidia tucked a strand of her raven hair into her ponytail as she landed in her tree. She stifled a yawn as she walked into her bedchamber. As she opened the door, she noticed a figure sitting in her tree chair.
"Why hello, Vidia," the figure said, drawing out her name with such menace. "I've been waiting for you."
The Next DayTinkerbell and her friends flew over Pixie Hollow, carrying loads of flowers.
"Wow, I can not believe Queen Clarion needs us to make these many flower crowns for the Spring ceremony," Iridessa said as she moved a sunbeam out of their path.
"Especially because a couple of them are poppies," Rosetta said, a clothespin on her nose. "I don't get it, the ceremony is a whole season away, and she's expecting these to last!"
As the fairies chattered, Vidia flew ahead of them, her eyebrows knit in worry. The six of them settled on a tree stump.
"Aw, man," Rosetta said. "He was just a kid!" She pointed to the rings on the tree.
Silvermist burst into tears, "th-that's just so sad!"
Rosetta chuckled as she handed a handkerchief to Sil. "Don't worry, we can regenerate it later." Fairy Mary offered courses to the fairies for improving their powers to be capable of more extreme actions.
Fawn glanced around, and frowned when she saw Vidia. The sassy fairy had not said a word all morning. By now she would have at least said something sarcastic. She whispered to Dessa. "Look at Vid, she seems, I don't know, upset!"
"Vid, upset? Angry would be moreā¦" Dessa's voice trailed off as she saw Vidia's expression. The fairy looked as if she was pained to just be existing. Fawn and Dessa looked at her for a little too long, as when Vidia felt their stares on her, she shifted her expression to boredom and narrowed her eyes.
"Maybe she was just tired," Iridessa said nervously, averting her eyes. Being one of the most worried fairies, she found Vidia to be a little much at times.
As the fairies got into their crown making, Tink launched into the story about how she helped save Pixie Hollow when she and her sister Periwinkle inadvertently caused a freeze. The fairies had heard the story before, hell, they were there, but they let Tink tell her story. Fawn glanced again at Vidia and saw the girl looking up at the sky, her face uneasy.
Suddenly the fast-flyer burst out, "Shit, Tink! I've heard this story at least 50 times about how you saved the day, blah blah blah, whatever! Can you ever not stop talking about yourself? Ever?"
The group hid their gasps as Tink narrowed her eyes. Tink was tired and did not like getting yelled at, especially not by Vidia. "Easy for you to say!," the blonde pixie shot back. "You know, I was starting to think that maybe you could actually be nice, but the truth is you're just an arrogant, narcissistic and self-absorbed bitch!"
Now the fairies gasped, as Tink wasn't one to swear and was definitely not one to yell at Vidia. They looked to Vidia to see her retort, and even Tink began to step back slowly, but to their surprise the fairy stood there gaping as her blue-gray eyes filled with tears. She opened her mouth to say something, but fell silent, the tears pouring down her face. In a quick tornado of movement, she shot into the sky and flew towards the Hollow.
"I think you broke her," Silvermist said, slowly turning her gaze to Tinkerbell. Tinkerbell looked up after Vidia, as the wind around the fairy turned blue. It was one of the new skills Fairy Mary had shown the fast-flyers. Their emotions can reflect on their trails.
"I didn't think she would fly away like that," Tink said, turning back to the group.
"Well, you did just call her a bitch," Rosetta said, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah," Fawn continued, "she did have a point, not that you're talking about yourself a lot, but we have heard the story, like, a million times." Tink lowered her eyes. She realized that what Vidia said was not the worst she'd ever say, and she was right, Tink did like to brag every once in a while.
"I think we should go after her," Iridessa offered. "It's so not Vidia to cry, ever."
The fairies nodded in agreement as they went in the direction the wind fairy had flown.
