Dudley's Letter and Running Away
30 July 1991
It was a nice day at 4 Privet Drive. Vernon and Petunia Dursley had been trying to block letters from Hogwarts that were for Harry. "HARRY," said Aunt Petunia. "WAKE UP, YOU FREAK!" As soon as Harry got into the living room, Uncle Vernon shouted at Harry to get the mail. When Harry gave Uncle Vernon the mail, there was a letter for Dudley. It said:
Mr. D Dursley
4 Privet Drive
The Bedrooms upstairs
Little Whinging
Surrey
When Vernon and Petunia opened it, they realized that Dudley was accepted into Hogwarts. Five minutes later, Vernon and Petunia wrote back saying that Dudley was going to Hogwarts. "Dudley, we are going to go to Diagon Alley for your supplies. Harry, you stay at home, you FREAK!" said Vernon.

Meanwhile, Harry was planning on running away from Privet Drive. The Dursleys were treating him so horribly that he needed to leave the house. So, after the Dursleys left to buy things for Dudley and locked Harry in his cupboard, he knocked the door down and stole a letter that was for him. After he read his letter, he set off towards the station to go to Diagon Alley. On his way, he met a big black stray dog and decided to keep it. Harry did not know that the dog was his recently freed godfather, Sirius Black. He decided to keep the dog and walk it to the station. He also decided to live somewhere else for the rest of the summer and would never return to the Dursleys if he could help it. For the next 30 minutes, he was searching for money and found enough for a ticket for himself. He also scrounged up a large box to put the dog in. Harry hadn't thought of a name yet. When he reached the station, he took the next train to London and managed to get into Diagon Alley by watching a red-haired wizard named Ron Weasley and his family tap on the brick three times. When he got into Diagon Alley, he talked to the red-haired boy and his family decided to keep Harry for the rest of the holidays. When Harry first entered the Burrow with all his Hogwarts things with the big black dog trotting after him, he was amazed at how the house could even hold up, given how crooked it was. Then, Harry remembered that the house was probably held up using magic. Harry excitedly opened the door, waiting to see what was inside the house.
Author's Note: Please review and also suggest a name for the dog Harry adopts!
