Hello, and welcome to the next chapter!

Blaze2121; Funny joke~ She does yeah, she's got quite bad luck~ She's Number 65, she's got a wikia page.

Shadow Joestar; Thanks! Yeah, Benitsubasa has quite the bad luck and can lose her temper quite easily. She wont be appearing next chapter, she will be appearing soon.

Clarent excalibur; She is yeah~ She could do yeah. Thanks for the suggestion! That would be fun and a cool scene to see as well~ Haha, I can see them stopping for that yeah. I'm glad that you liked it~

Jessans; I'm glad you like those moments~ Haha, maybe he could do something like that yeah~

MDM11; Yeah, it would quite a cute thing huh.

ShadowUzumaki55; Yeah, he's seeing Kaho in his dreams alright~ Haha yeah, they've got quite a few adventures to go on with~ Yup, they surely are, good thing Naoya and the others managed to stop them. Taki in time will come to see that she can begin to trust AShikabi's, her current relationship with them isn't the best. Benitsubasa truly is finding it difficult to finally confess her feelings. It is, and it will be expanded upon as we go through the story.

SekireiLord; Thanks! Yeah, I try and make each experience different and unique for each Sekirei. Kaho is safe for the moment. Haha it can be quite concerning when Minaka wants to get involved huh. Benitsubasa will get her happy ending eventually~ Haihane I'm sure would do something like that. They are yeah.

Silver crow; Thanks! Yup, Kaho's appeared in a dream, and soon in real life. Yeah, in the beginning she said it, at the end of the chapter, she wasn't sure because of the experiences she had with Ashikabi, while acknowledging Naoya is different to others, she said it herself, she needs to think clearly before doing anything. Well, we'll see what happens with college. Haha, Taki took off before Benitsubasa could do anything~ At the moment, Miya's sorting things out. Taki knows what to say to certain people alright~ Kocho is quite knowledgeable about a few things huh~? Glad you liked it! Yup, Naoya punched him for what he was trying to do to other Sekirei. Uzume showed off her stuff huh~? She didn't back down even a little bit. Mikogami does care, it's just a bit weird how he does. Maybe he could do yeah. This chapters got some Haihane bonding within it, so it should be pretty interesting to see what happens. Yeah, he'll figure it out eventually. Glad you like it. Well, you'll have to wait and see what happens when new Sekirei show up. Yeah, they might get Sekirei~ It seems he might have something special about him.

Skull Flame; It can be quite difficult huh. She does get quite angered easily. He does get some redemption late into the manga yeah.

blazes207; Haha, she does, but she'll get her happy ending sooner or later. Yup, Kaho's going to be officially appearing soon, and Taki's in it~ Yeah, it's going to be quite fun~ Miya's quite funny and scary huh~? Thanks!

Wtfstarftw10; Thanks very much!

Andrew123456; I can't reveal that just yet, we'll have to wait and see what happens with Shisui.

AlphaOmega; Yup, it seems that his powers as an Ashikabi are growing~ Taki did go through quite a bit huh. Taki does need sometime to think about it, and what she wants to do to move forward, having seen quite a bit of the darker side of humanity and how some Ashikabi's treat their Sekirei.

Lightwave; That's Mikogami for you, that's how he tends to act. He did yeah, Naoya isn't going to mince his words. Benitsubasa will definitely get some luck in the future.

Guest 1; Depends if I have a number of ideas I want to do, but not sure which to do, or if it's just a single idea if I do a poll or not.

Guest 2; They could be~

Guest 3; I don't know, I quite like them both for different reasons.

Well, with those great reviews out of the way, it's time to start the chapter!

Haihane's curiosity

It had been a good long while since Toyotama had confronted Naoya.

And during that time, she had been restricted in what she was allowed to do, which meant that she was not to cause any trouble as her Master had told her.

But, all she could think about was how she had failed her task, and how close Naoya was with his Sekirei.

It made her feel anger towards the fact that she couldn't stop her thoughts going towards them.

She wanted to desperately not think about it.

But she couldn't in the end, and she wished that she could just do something, anything that helped her not feel the way that she did.

She leaned back in the bed that she was on, and peered up to her ceiling, her thoughts rampaging within her mind, and causing problems with her ability to do anything for her Master without making a mistake…

"No...I can't keep doing this. That little bastard has to be put out of my mind. I have to keep my wits about me, and make sure that I can be useful to Master also. I wont go after that boy...even if he does immensely piss me off. I wont think about him anymore...I'll keep fighting and do my best, for Master..."

Toyotama decided.

Even with these thoughts inside of her, she still wasn't sure on how she was supposed to proceed.

With the idea of her Master still not happy with her in her mind, she knew that she'd have to try something to make sure that she still could be seen in good graces by her Master, that he'd still find a use for her.

Otherwise, she knew that she'd be tossed out with the trash, that she'd not be wanted by anything or anyone ever again.

Adjusting to the Inn was easy for some, for others it was a bit more difficult. Naoya, and Uzume settled in rather well, Kocho did the same after a few days, and Akitsu was settling in rather well also.

However, the one that wasn't was Yashima.

In the middle of the night, Yashima turned and tossed in bed, convinced that something was watching her.

She didn't have much basis for this, but she felt as if it was certainly a possibility, and ended up shaking Naoya awake.

"Naoya-sama..."

Naoya's eyes forced themselves open, and turned towards the worried looking Sekirei.

"What's wrong...Yashima-san…?"

"Naoya-sama...d-don't you feel it? There's something here..."

Naoya placed his hand gently on her face.

"Maybe it's just Miya-san, or Homura-san."

"No...this feels more...real, raw...I don't know what it is Naoya-sama...but, I feel weird..."

He didn't want Yashima to worry, but he didn't know what it was that she was worried about.

He didn't know of anything that could be watching them.

"Yashima-san, it's alright. We're all here, if there is anyone then we'll deal with it. But, maybe because it's a new place...you're feeling a bit worried maybe?"

"Maybe...I don't know Naoya-sama, maybe I'm just being a bit weird..."

Naoya gave a kind smile towards the young woman.

"You're not weird. It's okay to take time to adjust. I'm always here if you need me."

Yashima offered a gentle smile for her Ashikabi.

"Thank you Naoya-sama. I'm sorry for waking you up."

Naoya waved his hand to relieve her worries.

"Don't worry about that, you can wake me up for anything that is concerning you."

Yashima was glad that she had an Ashikabi like Naoya.

One that would be there for her, and make sure that she was safe, and comfortable.

Yashima then needed the bathroom, so she silently got up, and made her way to the bathroom.

As she walked…

She heard a creaking noise coming from behind her.

She quickly, looked…

But nothing was there.

Yashima shook her head, convincing herself aloud "Just my imagination." and quietly did her business in the bathroom.

When returning back towards the bedroom, she thought she saw the far off wall that was right near the stairs moving, her face turned pale white, and when she allowed her eyes to readjust to what was being shown before her eyes…

Nothing once again.

"This is weird...why do I feel as if there's something there…? Maybe I'm just tired..."

She tried once more to convince herself.

But even she had to admit that she didn't feel very convinced.

When she returned to her bedroom, the door to the wall did in fact open, revealing a young woman with red hair, a mischievous smile on her face.

With the morning that had hit, Haihane woke up to see Benitsubasa just stood there in the living room, seemingly deep in thought. Haihane exhaled slowly, and walked closer towards the young woman.

"Hello Benitsubasa, what are you doing here?"

Benitsubasa's pink eyes shot for the grinning Haihane.

"Are you implying I can't be here!? I live here Haihane!"

"I just meant, you're up early. What's going on with you sweetheart?"

Benitsubasa didn't trust the way that Haihane spoke.

Adding 'sweetheart' only made her feel a bit more worried than she usually would be.

It sounded as if she was having some kind of agenda.

"Don't call me sweetheart." Haihane stuck out her tongue. "I'm just thinking if I should go and approach Naoya or not...hmmmm, I've never done these things Haihane!" Haihane just showed a smile, which Benitsubasa misinterpreted as a smirk. "Don't make fun of me now!"

"I'm not, I was just smiling...but you know, if you're too shy to go to him-"

"I'm not shy damn it!"

"-then I'll go and speak to him if you'd like?"

Haihane finished off, catching Benitsubasa off guard.

"W-What?"

"Sure, he could be the one to contact you, and so you don't have the...confusion of everything that's going on with you vs the other side of the phone, or threatening landlords, like we did the other day. It isn't great is it?"

Haihane's words did make sense to Benitsubasa.

She still wasn't sure if she wanted Haihane to spend time with Naoya.

But, if she could at least see what he thought about it…

"F-Flirt with him and I'll smash your head like a pumpkin!"

"I like smashing pumpkins~" Benitsubasa showed her fist, Haihane threw her hands up. "Alright calm down, I'll go and speak to him. I've found out where he lives."

Benitsubasa raised a brow.

"Where?"

"Some place called Izumo Inn. I don't know much about it, but when I found out, it seemed that even Takami seemed...cautious. I don't know why that was, and to be honest, it makes me kind of nervous. But, for you my friend, I'll go and do it."

Benitsubasa truly didn't understand Haihane sometimes.

There was always something with Haihane that made Benitsubasa distrusting.

But it seemed that Haihane was being a good friend, so she agreed to it.

"Fine, you go. But try anything with him, or if you get winged before me, then there's big trouble, got it!?"

Haihane giggled.

She found it funny when Benitsubasa got agitated.

"Yes, I got it."

Benitsubasa wasn't sure if she had, but she had to take her at face value for the moment.

Haihane herself seemed rather excited to see what prospects the day was going to bring her, and how she could evolve the relationship between Benitsubasa and Naoya, since she did want what was best for her friend deep down.

Meanwhile, Naoya along with the others woke up, and did their duties for the morning. Getting dressed, and helping out with breakfast. Uzume, who hadn't overcome her usual habit of getting dressed, or lack of getting dressed.

Something that Miya seemed to notice as well.

"Ooh Uzume, it's like you intentionally keep coming down in your underwear."

"Eh….?" Uzume looked down, and her face paled. "Miya! Please don't get angry! I didn't mean to come down in my underwear like this! I'm sorry, and I wont ever do anything like this again!"

Uzume saw that Miya was just giggling.

But the dreaded Hannya mask was out, which terrified Uzume more than humanly possible, or what she thought was humanly possible anyway.

Akitsu looked towards the mask, and simply kept her head down.

Naoya didn't see the problem with it, and just smiled towards it.

Kocho didn't know how he did that, and simply looked at the food before her.

Yashima kept looking around the house, as if she was trying to find something.

Naoya noticed, and questioned it.

"Something wrong Yashima-san?"

"N-No! Of course not Naoya-sama! Hehe, I'm fine~"

Naoya could tell that she was lying.

He wondered if it was because she thought something was watching her.

"It's okay, we're safe here Yashima-san."

"Yes, there's nothing to worry about here." Miya added, with a small giggle. "Have you been feeling unwelcome?"

"N-No, of course not. You're really n-nice Miya-san, but I just...I don't know, sometimes I get the feeling that something is following me around..."

Uzume's eyes went to the corner of the room, to a hidden camera, and Miya's did the same discreetly.

"Don't worry Yashima-san, this place is very safe. Nothing will hurt you here."

Miya comforted, Yashima wasn't so sure, and kept her eyes going towards the different areas of the house.

Kocho then placed a finger on her glasses.

"Naoya-san, I'm going to be meeting your Mother today and we're going to be going over some data."

"Aah, I see. Thanks Kocho-san, you're really smart so I'm sure it will go well."

Kocho nods with a slightest bit of confidence.

"I have to admit that while this isn't my area of expertise, I am still going to try my hardest."

Uzume then stretches her arms.

"As for me, I'm going to go and see Chiho again~ She how she's doing~"

Naoya was glad that Uzume had a friend like Chiho, and they had such a good bond.

Yashima looked around, then towards the door.

"Naoya-sama...I wish to stay in today..."

"Ooh, erm, sure. Any particular reason?"

Yashima shook her head.

"No, I just wish to relax."

"I see, then that's alright~"

Akitsu placed a hand to her face, and gently rubbed in deep thought.

"Naoya-sama, what are you doing today?"

"Miya-san asked me to pick up some groceries for the house, and since I didn't have anything better to do, I thought it would be a good idea to go and stretch my legs. Been studying a lot lately, so I need to take a day off~ All work and no play and all that good stuff~"

"I see, then I'll-"

"Actually..." Uzume gave a sly smile, placing a hand on Akitsu's shoulder. "...I heard that Homura-chan wishes to go with Naoya-kun~"

"Oh...I didn't realize that Homura-san also wished to be with Naoya-sama."

Akitsu said, with Naoya raising an eyebrow.

"Homura-san wants to go with me?"

Uzume giggled nervously.

"O-Of course she did, she erm...yeah, I'll go and get her!" Uzume shot off out of the room, and shot up the stairs. Getting to Homura's room, she knocked on the door a number of times, before it finally was answered. "Homura-chan! I need you to go with Naoya-kun today!"

Homura paused in place.

Thinking about what that would mean, Homura believed that she probably couldn't do that.

"N-No, I'm..busy today."

When Homura rejected it, Uzume had to wonder why that was.

Was Homura truly that worried about spending time with Naoya?

Did she think that something could happen?

Uzume just wanted what was best for Homura, and she could see that maybe Naoya could provide what was best for the flame Sekirei.

"Ooh come on Homura-chan! Naoya-kun's going to be alone...and things might end up happening..."

"I can't Uzume."

Uzume showed a slight pout.

"But...I thought that it would be good if you spent time together. Get to know one another, and see if there's anything that...you could do together. He's really cuddly, so why don't you go and give him a hug or something like that?"

"I can't spend time with him. I'm just really busy, sorry Uzume."

Homura apologized, and went to shut the door…

But Uzume stopped Homura with her foot wedged inside.

"Why though? Is it because you're reacting to him?"

"I'm not reacting to him."

Homura denied it.

But Uzume could see through the deception.

"I don't understand why you're so against it...Naoya-kun's a good Ashikabi you know? He takes care of our needs, he's kind, helpful, and adorable. So why are you..."

Homura turned face from Uzume.

It seemed to Uzume that Homura was attempting to make sure that they had as much distance as they could, and didn't have to look into one another's eyes, otherwise she knew that she'd have to face what she was denying right now, and Homura seemingly couldn't do that.

"I'm not against anything. I just wish to be...alone with my thoughts, that's all. I'm sorry."

With that, Homura pushed Uzume's foot out of the way as gently as possible, then shut the door, leaving Uzume within the hallway, stumped on what to do next.

"I thought that if they went together, maybe Homura-chan could begin to understand that Naoya-kun could be an Ashikabi for her...but, she's fighting against me...Homura-chan, you don't have to fight the feelings inside, it's okay to allow others close to you..."

Uzume with a sad expression, went down the stairs to the living room.

Adopting a smile the best she could, she allowed it to shine to the others.

"Sorry about the mix up Naoya-kun, seems like Homura-chan's busy today~"

Naoya knew she was lying.

He had learned to read his Sekirei's expressions pretty well.

He could also feel the nervousness through their bond.

But he could see that she was hiding it for a reason, possibly to spare his feelings that Homura simply didn't want to go out with him, so he smiled reassuringly.

"Aah, it's no problem."

"Then I'll go with Naoya-sama-"

Just then, as they were eating and Akitsu was offering her services, there was a knock at the door.

Miya muttered "Ooh my~" and walked towards the door.

Upon getting there, she opened it, revealing that Haihane was stood there, with her hands on her hips.

Miya gave a light smile, not scared of the fact that Haihane had claws on her fingers, and she had bandages wrapped around her.

"May I help you?"

"Aah, right. I've been told this is where Naoya-kun lives, is that right?"

"It certainly could be."

Haihane raised a brow.

"Could...be?"

"It depends on what your motivations are for his current location. Would you like to tell me?"

Haihane felt worried.

Miya didn't seem like an ordinary person.

The way that she looked at her gave her vibes that there was something more to Miya than met the eye.

Haihane gave a smooth smile.

"I just want to talk to him, about a pink haired flat chested friend of mine who wishes to...do naughty things with him, probably~"

Miya's brow raised, a miasma beginning to form around her due to how Haihane was speaking about Benitsubasa's desires.

Haihane's face took a notable dip when she saw that Miya's face was smiling, but she clearly wasn't thrilled either. She didn't know what she was supposed to feel when looking at the purple haired young woman.

"I-I was just saying that she needs my help, and I'd like to speak to him so I can see where he stands regarding Benitsubasa. She's surprisingly shy when it comes to expressing her feelings, so it's rather intriguing for someone like me to understand what makes her heart go all shy like she is, when she's usually crazy and smashes things up."

Miya gave a mild surprised look, placing a finger to her chin.

"Ooh, she has temper issues?"

Haihane nods with a sly look.

"She's getting better, and redirecting her anger. So, is he available?"

"I'll go and check."

Haihane shrugged, waiting at the door.

Miya walked back into the living room, and looked towards Naoya.

"There's a Gothic Mummy looking woman at the door asking for you Naoya-san, do you know her?"

As soon as that was said, Uzume, and Akitsu rushed towards the door, while Yashima and Kocho looked troubled.

Naoya followed after them, getting there saw that Uzume had her veils up, and Akitsu had ice surrounding her, Haihane looked petrified seeing how the pair were quick to assume that she was the enemy and ready to strike her down.

"Wait! You can't fight here Miya-san might get angry!"

Naoya called, Uzume and Akitsu grimaced, feeling chills down their spines.

His eyes then went to Haihane who had her hands up in defence.

"Haihane-san, what're you doing here?"

Haihane giggled awkwardly.

"Because I've chosen to come and spend time with you…?"

"Why?"

Uzume asked, Haihane shrugged.

"For Benitsubasa mostly, but to see why she's reacting to him. I'm kinda hoping that I react, so I can be with Benitsubasa. So far, I'm not sure. I do like the fact that you guys aren't abusing the systems of the Sekirei, and are willing to fight as opposed to others who are hiding or using underhanded methods to get what they want. Play fair and square, and show why it's alright to be awesome."

Haihane's words caused confusion within Akitsu, while Uzume recalled the time that they were together, and had fought briefly, but then in the end didn't end up doing that.

"You just want to get to know more about Naoya-kun?"

Uzume's question was met with a nod from Haihane.

"Sure, we seem to have things in common. At least it wont be boring like with...I don't know, Minaka maybe. It's just going to be me finding out a bit more and making sure people like Benitsubasa are going to be taken care of."

Naoya could see it deep within Haihane.

The kindness that she had for her friend.

Even though they seemed at odds during the times he had seen them.

Seeing Haihane now, it was evident that she did care quite a bit.

"You really care about your friend, don't you?"

Naoya asked, Haihane didn't deny it.

"You're not wrong. But don't tell her that, she'll gain the advantage. So, want to come out with me today?" Akitsu and Uzume looked unsure, as did Kocho and Yashima who ended up joining them outside. "I get it, Disciplinary Squad member, you're distrustful of me. It's okay, but you don't have to fear me. Plus there's like four of you guys, and one of me. So, there's nothing that I can do against you."

"She did let me go to help Naoya-kun with Kocho-chan."

Uzume pointed out, Akitsu nodding.

"She does seem pretty easy going. Not exactly how I imagined a member of the Disciplinary Squad to be."

"...She also seems like she isn't here to cause problems."

Yashima added, with Kocho looking towards her.

"Still, she's with the Disciplinary Squad. Even if she's easy going, she is still skilled, and strong. We have to be cautious of her, and her motives Naoya-san."

Naoya understood Kocho's worries.

She had been chased by the squad, and now seeing one must bring up some unsure feelings deep inside of her.

Haihane gave a sly grin.

"That I am, but everyone has a job, that just happens to be mine. Until I find an Ashikabi then I leave, or, I don't find one and just stay a member, or my Ashikabi becomes the Ashikabi of the Disciplinary Squad. Track me if you want, do whatever. I just want to speak with Naoya-kun, that's all."

Naoya believed her.

He couldn't see any hidden motives or agendas.

It seemed as if she just did want to get to know him a bit more.

"If that's all it is, then I can't say anything other than..."

"Naoya-san, are you sure? She might be out to get you."

Kocho said, remembering her own experiences.

Akitsu stepped forward.

"I'll be following, if you lay a finger on Naoya-sama, I will freeze you solid, and make you as flat chested as your friend."

Haihane looked down at her chest, then she paled at the sight before her.

"Ooh God! That sounds like a nightmare!"

Haihane shuddered, Uzume's eyes went towards Naoya, then to Haihane.

"...She let me go, so I'll be alright with her spending time with Naoya-kun."

"I will be okay with it...though if she did try anything with Naoya-sama, I will have to hit her with my hammer and possibly flatten her depending on what she is going to do."

Naoya was mildly surprised by Yashima's words, she truly had been growing in courage as of late.

Kocho wasn't thrilled with the idea, but she could see that everyone else was alright with it.

So she began nodding.

"Okay, as long as I can keep an eye on Naoya-san. I'm not of the mind to trust those so quickly. But I believe in my Ashikabi and I'm sure that he'll come up with a good way to make sure that whatever happens, it is to his benefit."

Haihane could see the seriousness of her, so she shrugged her shoulders.

"Fine, I don't mind if you keep tabs on us."

"Then let me get my stuff and I'll be ready Haihane-san."

Naoya wasn't stupid.

While he did like Haihane quite a bit, she also could be an enemy. He didn't like thinking like that, but he kept his wits about him, and was going to be prepared just in case. Though with Akitsu and Kocho both doing their bit, he knew that Haihane would have to be crazy to think about doing something weird.

Plus, she showed up of her own volition, so he didn't think it would make sense she'd be so transparent with her methods if she was going to end up attacking Naoya.

Toyotama went to go and see Higa to see if she could be of use. She knew that if she went off on her own, then she could be punished and kicked out of the group, she didn't want to be cast off by her Ashikabi.

It was almost as bad as death for a Sekirei to be rejected by their Ashikabi.

Especially one that had already winged her.

So making it to the door, she knocked a number of times.

She then heard [Come.] so that's what she did, walking inside she saw that Higa was speaking to his underling Kakizaki, along with two Sekirei. It seemed as if they were planning something, she wasn't sure if she should say anything at first.

But then Higa's eyes met with her.

"Ah, Toyotama. There you are, I've been waiting for you."

Toyotama was filled with hope.

Higa seemed to be in a better mood than he was beforehand.

She walked closer, placing a hand to her chest.

"Yes Higa-sama? Is there something I can do for you?"

"Yes, there is."

Toyotama began to blush.

His tone wasn't as harsh as it had been for the past few days.

He seemed to be truly relaxed now, and if that was the case…

Then she'd be able to truly be useful to her Ashikabi.

"A-Anything! I'll do anything you ask! Please allow me to go and do it for you!"

"Great, then go and find me some Sekirei in the East."

Like that, Toyotama felt her hopes dash…

She was being assigned grunt work.

Nothing to do with the current plans Higa had.

"Higa-sama...I can be much more useful than that...I can do anything you desire..."

"Seeing how you failed last time, we both know that's not true."

It felt like a knife carving into her.

His cold words couldn't get anymore ruthless in her eyes.

She wanted to please her Master, so she had to accept what he wanted from her.

"...I understand, I'm sorry for wasting your time Higa-sama. I'll get right on it."

"See that you do. Don't leave the East territory, I don't want anymore of your mistakes."

Toyotama felt another sharp blade in her soul from his cutting words.

The powerful yet icy words that caused her to feel a pinch of loneliness.

She simply allowed her head to bow in obedience and then walked away, going to do her mission like she was told to do.

Sometime later, Naoya and Haihane began walking around together, going to the shops for Miya. Haihane kept her eyes on the young male, trying to work him out, and what he was thinking, feeling at that moment in time.

Akitsu was skulking across the rooftops, carefully watching Haihane for any motives.

Any deceit she could have performed before to get in close now.

"You know, I was just as surprised as you when I heard Benitsubasa-san was reacting to me."

Haihane gave a bemused look to Naoya.

"Yeah, no kidding. With the way that girl acts, I'm surprised she reacted to anyone."

Despite her saying that, Naoya could see the care she had for Benitsubasa.

"Haihane-san, do you think about what you'd want in an Ashikabi? You seem quite determined to help Benitsubasa-san, but what about yourself?"

Haihane raised an eyebrow.

"That's a good question. I don't know now thinking about it. I guess I'd want one that would be cool, and that could do a lot for me. In many different ways if you catch my drift." Naoya believed he did, and looked astonished with Haihane's open ways. "Ooh yeah, he also has to at least like my anime...or be tolerant of it. I'm not giving that up for anyone. I don't care, that's my stuff."

"Hahaha, never come between anyone and their anime, right Haihane-san~?"

Haihane nodded strongly.

"Of course, anime is great, and makes me feel good~ I'm currently watching Madoka Magica and I'm enjoying it so far. I'm not so much into the magical girl stuff...but, it's pretty captivating. Plus when Mami gets her head bitten off, I was like "Holy shit, this just got interesting~" you know what I mean?"

"Yeah, that was quite the shocking moment."

Haihane gave an intrigued look.

"A fellow anime watcher I see."

"Yeah, I watch a few. Yukari watched a few when we were younger, she kinda got me into it. Minato also watches some from time to time."

"Your sister and brother huh." Naoya nods slowly. "What's it like having siblings?"

"Hmmmm...I don't know how to answer that. It's all I've ever known. It's nice having siblings, sometimes we don't always see eye to eye, but we generally get along with one another. Why do you want to know?"

"I was just curious. Never had any, Sekirei's don't usually, but there are some exceptions."

"There is?"

Naoya hadn't come across them before.

He had seen a number of Sekirei's, but none that could be considered siblings.

"Right, there's twin Sekirei's. I can think of a few sets of twins that I know about. The most famous probably are the lightning twins."

"Lightning twins...huh."

Haihane gave a sly nod.

"Right, produce this crazy lightning strikes, it's so cool and scary at the same time. As a metal weapon user, it can be difficult dealing with them. But, for the most part, we tend to stay out of one another's way. Though they cross us, I guess I'll have to get involve."

Naoya could see that Haihane looked rather...relaxed.

More than he thought she'd be.

"If you don't mind me saying Haihane-san, you seem way more relaxed than I thought you'd be."

"Yeah, it's nice to not be so on edge. With the Disciplinary Squad, especially the leader of it. It's like walking on egg shells sometimes. She can be a ruthless lady when she wants to be. Benitsubasa though makes it fun."

"I see...but, from the way you speak, it sounds as if you don't like being on the squad? At least, that's the vibe I'm getting."

Haihane pursed her lips.

"It has its moments, and I don't hate it. I guess it's just a job to me right now. It doesn't satisfy me, and it doesn't bore me either. I'd much prefer to relax, and do things at my own speed. Watch, and do what I want."

Naoya was beginning to truly understand Haihane.

She was quite a relaxed and laid back person, who'd rather just watch some anime than fight.

Though he could see that she did have some part of her that enjoyed it as well.

Meanwhile, Kocho was with Takami and seemed to be working on the data that they had retrieved from Naoya and what kind of special aspect Naoya could have. Takami showed it to Kocho who had her mind on Naoya and what Haihane could be doing right now.

"From what I can tell, this might be the reason why Naoya has this...special thing about him. A friend of mine had been looking into the abilities of Ashikabi, and like you Sekirei, Ashikabi's can have a thing called-"

"Ashikabi core." Kocho spoke up, catching Takami off guard. "Yes, I have heard of that before. It seems to be a rare thing that can occur within Ashikabi's that have deep bonds with their Sekirei, and can achieve different things depending on how emotionally invested the Sekirei and Ashikabi's are. Considering people like Higa, who currently does have a good number of Sekirei, but he doesn't have emotional bonds with them. Therefore, he most likely wouldn't have a core."

"Yes, that's what I believe is happening with Naoya. As he wings and deepens his bonds with his Sekirei, his core is growing and becoming stronger, attracting more Sekirei, stronger Sekirei. I've even noticed that No. 06 could have begun developing an attachment to Naoya. But, Homura is...very unsure of how to feel about that."

Kocho slowly nods.

"So, if Naoya-san has this power deep inside...he should be able to wing Akitsu, correct?"

"Yes, it should be possible. But it would be dangerous if he did, she wouldn't be able to stop from self terminating...but, I have been going over this...core that's inside of Naoya, and have determined that I possibly could give Naoya the control of this core to possibly wing Akitsu in a safe manner, reset her safely, and make her his all in one."

Kocho looked surprised by that.

"Then what's the problem?"

"It's not that there's a problem. It would just mean that Naoya would have to have a certain kind of procedure done on him to bring out the power. On its own, he could definitely wing Akitsu, there's no question to that. But, while winging her isn't the problem, the fact that she'd self terminate if she tried to use a Norito is the problem."

"Then...this procedure, it would grant Naoya-san the ability to reset Akitsu safely?"

Takami nods.

"I believe so. He has it inside of him already, he just needs it to be enhanced."

Kocho folds her arms.

"To be honest, I feel uneasy about my Ashikabi being apart of your experiments. Not that I dislike you or believe you'd hurt your son, I just don't find the idea of my Ashikabi, my love, being an experiment."

Kocho put her thoughts across.

She wasn't going to allow her Ashikabi to be used in some sort of experiment.

Tamaki began nodding, seeing how Naoya was someone that Kocho was in love with, and wouldn't allow anything bad to happen to him.

"I can understand your feelings, and while if there was another way for it, I'd be all for it. However, I know Naoya quite well, how fiercely determined he'd be, so I have to present the option at least. That's all I can do as his Mother, and let him make the decision. I want my kids to be able to make decisions with all of the available data, and see what kind of adults they are going to be."

Kocho began nodding very slowly.

She could see Takami being like that.

"If you're going to do anything, I'd like to go over the data myself first, and make sure that this is safe."

"I wouldn't place my son in danger. But it might open a door that could make him more of a target for MBI, and more importantly..."

"Karasuba."

"You've dealt with her, that's what you were doing for her, wasn't it?"

Kocho didn't deny it.

"She wanted information about Ashikabi cores, and about Naoya-san specifically. But she didn't say why, and from what little I did see, it seemed as if Minaka is aware of something more than he has been saying."

"Yes...I'm sure that he is aware of something. Either way, if you'd like to go over my data, I'm not against it. In fact, I welcome a fresh set of intelligent eyes."

Kocho gave a slow nod.

She was for her Ashikabi following his path and what he decides.

But, she also wasn't going to allow anything negative to happen to the Ashikabi that she cared for and loved.

There was nothing that was going to stop her from finding the best path for her Ashikabi and support him no matter what.

As that happened, Naoya continued around with Haihane, learning more details about her.

"So tell me Haihane-san something about you."

"About me? Not much to tell really. I woke up from being brought new life, and got adjusted. I was approached by Minaka to join the Disciplinary Squad, and then that's it really. Since then, I've been enforcing the laws of Sekirei, and doing MBI's business. Though I don't really mind if I do it either way. I just want to have fun and cure the boredom, you know?"

Naoya could see that Haihane was rather intriguing.

She wasn't evil.

She didn't have any drive to really kill anyone.

All she wanted was to relax and have a good time.

"If that's the case, why stay with them then?"

"Hmmmm...I don't know. It's the only place I've ever known before. It's a place that I quite enjoy to be with if Benitsubasa is there. She brings me much entertainment."

"And if she becomes my Sekirei, and leaves?"

Haihane was stumped when he said that.

She...honestly wasn't sure what she was going to do in that case.

"...I'll have to think about it. I'll have to find my Ashikabi first of all. Not sure where mine is yet."

Naoya gave a light smile, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"I'll help you find them, if you want?"

Haihane looked taken aback by what he had said.

He'd...help her with finding her Ashikabi?

It just didn't seem like it would be worth him doing in her eyes.

"N-Nah, that's alright. You're already busy enough, don't want to make you feel as if you're obligated to help me."

"It's no obligation, it's something I'd do for any Sekirei that wanted my help. You're no different Haihane-san."

Haihane again was blown away that someone would take the time to help someone like her.

When they usually ran the other way from her due to her somewhat scary appearance, and how she was in the Disciplinary Squad, people usually didn't want to associate with her, regardless if they knew who she was or not.

But Naoya seemed to be quite determined, and she couldn't help but feel a slight tinge of redness to dust her cheeks.

"W-Well, good luck trying."

"Hah, is that a challenge Haihane-san?"

Haihane showed a playful smirk.

"Damn straight it is."

"Then challenge accepted."

Haihane had to admit that she was having rather fun with Naoya, and liked that he could be playful as well.

Naoya then saw Haihane pulling out her phone.

"Lets take a picture together~ To celebrate our day out~"

"Eeh, sure~"

Naoya got in close with Haihane, and did a peace sign to as did Haihane.

Unknown to Naoya though, the moment the picture was taken, Haihane kissed his cheek, surprising him immensely, then she smirked, and pulled up Benitsubasa's number…

Benitsubasa laid around her room and thought about what Naoya and Haihane would be doing.

As time went on and on, Benitsubasa felt as if she should say something, but she couldn't now.

But then she heard her phone going.

Lazily looking towards it, she saw it was a picture…

The picture was Haihane kissing Naoya on the cheek.

Benitsubasa's blood boiled.

Her face contorted, her eyes bulged, and veins ran through her eyes.

"HAIHANE! YOU'RE DEAD MEAT! IF YOU'VE WINGED YOURSELF BEFORE ME, I'M COMING FOR YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!"

Benitsubasa couldn't hold back her rage.

So much so as when she stormed out of her room, she flung the door open so hard that it hit Minaka who was passing by.

He gasped, turning towards her, and saw the undeniable rage on her face, and her fist clenched, as if she was going to punch someone.

"Benitsubasa..."

"DON'T TALK TO ME!"

"Okay! Whatever you want!"

Minaka usually wasn't so frightened of many things…

But Benitsubasa.

Something about her was terrifying.

Benitsubasa stormed off down the corridor, and by the time she made it to the exit…

She paused, and looked back towards the place Minaka was.

"Shit..."

Realizing that she had threaten someone again, Minaka of all people, she rushed back towards him.

But when she got there, she saw that Minaka had locked a door between them, his eyes on her in a mixture of fear, and curiosity.

"Minaka..."

"Y-You can go out today Benitsubasa! That's fine!"

"O-Okay..."

Benitsubasa cringed.

She had to wonder if she had just lost her job by doing that.

Meanwhile, Toyotama had set out during that day with the intention of finding a new Sekirei for her Master after she had been tasked to do so, but while she didn't like the fact that she was on grunt work, she still wasn't going to back down either.

She didn't want to keep being a failure, she wanted to show that she wasn't a fool either. She had the ability to fight and win, and gain more for her Ashikabi.

While she was walking along, she caught the sight of a young girl that held a chain by her leg. That, along with the clothing she wore that wasn't ordinary fashion, convinced her that she was a Sekirei, and from the looks of it, without an Ashikabi with her.

A smirk appeared on her face, and she walked closer with a dark grin etching itself onto her face.

"They're in the East territory. They must've been unaware, because now she's going to become Master's Sekirei, whether she liked to or not..." She paused, when she thought about how she was winged in the first place. "….Damn, I shouldn't think about it...but, that Sekirei is...no, she gave up her right like I did when I came into this territory. It will be fine, Master's not so bad. He can be kind...when he chooses to be. I'm sure that everything will work out alright."

Toyotama tried to convince herself of that.

Even if she didn't even want to think about it necessarily, she had to make sure that she got in good graces with her Master.

But as she was going to make contact, she suddenly felt something sharp it her leg, and caused her to cry out in pain.

"Aah! W-What the hell was that?!"

She looked down to see that it was a sharp looking dart.

The length of the needle was longer than ordinary darts.

She then heard a noise coming from up above, and saw a Sekirei with short blonde hair looking down towards her.

"A sniper like Sekirei. These darts are probably MBI made, so stronger than your average throwing weapons. Different to knives based on how sleek they are. They might not pack that much of a punch, but where it hit my leg, caused me a good deal of pain...she must know where to target with her needle dart like weapons...bitch..."

Toyotama deduced, based on what she had seen.

She then looked at the Sekirei once more, seeing that she had a cold look in her eyes.

She knew that this Sekirei must've had some personal grudge against her, but she didn't know why that was.

What this Sekirei was doing...she didn't know.

"Sorry Toyotama, but you're done now."

"Like hell! Come on, and I'll show you my power!"

She then saw another one coming, so she brought out her staff, and sliced it out of the air…

Or she was going to do that, when the chained Sekirei turned around, and threw them towards Toyotama's arm, restraining her.

"W-What the hell?!"

"This is because of your Master."

The chained Sekirei said as another dart pierced her flesh.

Toyotama threw her head back and let out a small cry due to how forceful the penetration of it was.

And the way it hit her body, it was clearly someone who knew the most effective areas of the body, and ended up having three hit her in areas that caused her to feel the most pain, Toyotama cried out from having such a painful attack.

Using her might, she forced the chain Sekirei off the ground, and to hit her head on said ground in one strong pull, freeing her arm to block another dart that was thrown, then charged for the dart throwing Sekirei.

"Come on then you bitch!"

Toyotama tried to get in close, but the dart wielding Sekirei threw more of her darts towards her. Toyotama narrowly avoided being pierced in multiple places, only for one to stab her in the right knee, making her cringe.

Panting, Toyotama could see the skills of these Sekirei.

If they were alone, then she believed she could take either of them.

But together, it wasn't something that she could do if they were together.

"You can't escape from us."

The dart wielder said, while the chain user twirled them above her head.

"Right, we wont let you get away."

Toyotama could see that this was going to be difficult.

She looked between the two, knowing that she'd not be able to make it out alive if she fought, she stuck her weapon into the ground, piercing it enough to uproot a decent sized piece of concrete, launching it for the dart throwing Sekirei.

Using her knowledge of battle tactics, she took out the long range fighter first, so she could escape from the short ranged one.

"Damn it!"

The dart user dodged out of the way, only to see that Toyotama got in close, and swung her weapon forward, cutting across her flat stomach, drawing out some blood, while the chain user wrapped some around her neck, yanking her down so hard that she felt her head hit the ground harshly.

Toyotama could feel blood coming from her forehead, feeling it running down her face…

She wouldn't allow herself to fall to this Sekirei.

She still had things she wanted to do.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!"

She powered through the pain and anguish she felt, and forced the chain around her neck off of her body, and sent a piercing move towards the chain wielder, who was forced to use her chains to form a barricade to protect herself…

But Toyotama was a bit more tactical than the chain wielder realized, as the stab went downwards, hitting the ground below her, and with a flick upwards, she caught some of the stone, flinging it towards the chain wielders eyes.

"Aah! My eyes you bitch!"

Toyotama smirked, and then sliced vertically down the woman's body long enough for her to have some blood coming out of her shoulder, and ran down it, as the dart wielder attempted to try and help her.

But Toyotama made her escape at this point, and ran as fast as she could.

"After her!"

A man yelled from behind, stepping out of the shadows.

The Sekirei's turned their anger upon Toyotama, and chased her down.

Back with Naoya and Haihane, they continued walking and talking together, surprisingly enjoying one another's company.

Naoya got to know more about Haihane and how she was quite a chill person, that she didn't have any real drives to kill anyone, just to have a good time.

However, that was soon stopped when Naoya saw Toyotama coming closer.

She had blood across her face, and arms, even her legs. Her weapon was at the ready, her eyes seemed unfocused as if she wasn't able to concentrate very well on what was happening around her all of a sudden.

"Damn, Toyotama's back...but this isn't the East territory..."

Naoya was surprised since the last place he saw her, was far away from the place he was now.

Toyotama though didn't even register him as she moved closer.

Naoya wasn't going to allow Toyotama to threaten or harm him, not sure clearly where the blood on her came from due to how far she was from him he couldn't see if she had any injuries on her.

He went into his bag to pull out something to help him defend himself against her…

But then saw that something came shooting down from up above, piercing Toyotama's neck, and make her scream, surprising Naoya and Haihane.

The latter saw Toyotama fall down to the floor in pain.

"It's her, that Sekirei from the East. No. 16 if I recall."

"She is yeah."

Naoya confirmed it for her.

Haihane gave an intrigued look, then saw that a chain wielding Sekirei was coming in closer. Toyotama was bloody, she looked as if she had seen better days, and seemed as if she was going to pass out, or she was on the verge of it.

Toyotama saw it coming also, and pulled backwards, getting to her feet. But the chain hit the ground hard, leaving a sizeable crack in the concrete, following by a dart being thrown down at such precision that it stabbed the back of Toyotama's hand.

"Aaah!"

She cried out with the pain she received.

Naoya didn't know what to make of it.

His eyes caught the other Sekirei up above, and then the chain wielding Sekirei.

It was clear that Toyotama was outmatched.

Even though Toyotama was someone that had been horrible to him, and attacked Uzume and Yashima…

Seeing her being ganged up on, drew something out of him.

A protective feeling for her.

Even if she was the enemy, and he would have to probably deal with her at some point.

She was in more pain that she had inflicted on both Yashima and Uzume.

"Haihane-san, isn't it a Sekirei's rule to fight one on one?"

"Usually it is yeah. Why? What are you thinking about? Helping that girl?"

"She's...She's an enemy, but she's being ganged up on."

Haihane folded her arms.

"As far as I'm aware, didn't she also do that to you guys?" Naoya looked surprised she knew that, so Haihane clarified. "All Sekirei matches are put down in a file to know who had done what and to who, in MBI. At least the ones we can officially put down anyway, there have been times when Sekirei's leave before MBI gets there to collect the deactivated Sekirei. Point is, I checked it out, and it seemed that she had fought No. 10, that lovely Uzume, and No. 84, that lovely Yashima as well. Both yours, and each time, she had at least one other Sekirei with her against your one."

Naoya furrowed his eyebrows, seeing Toyotama attempting to get in close with the chain wielding Sekirei, only for the dart thrower to launch multiple sets of them towards Toyotama, forcing her to roll out into the street, seeing as her body wasn't responding to her usual speed.

Some of the darts cut her legs, and forced her to hit the ground hard.

Toyotama, despite all of the stuff she had done to Naoya, and his Sekirei…

Seeing her so small right now.

Her pain.

Her fear of being deactivated…

He just couldn't let it happen, so he ran forward, surprising Haihane but not the onlooking Akitsu who got in close to defend Naoya just in case.

"Stop right now!"

The two Sekirei's paused, looking towards Naoya with confusion.

"Eh? Who are you?"

The chain wielder asked, Naoya pulled closer, with Haihane getting in close also.

"My name is Naoya, and I'd like you to fight Toyotama one on one. Isn't that the Sekirei way?"

The Sekirei's looked rather troubled by that, and weren't sure on what to say.

But then a small laughter could be heard.

It came from a young man around Naoya's age, maybe a little older, with glasses and brown hair. He had a cocky expression on his face, and an attitude that Naoya knew he was going to be trouble to deal with.

"Are you their Ashikabi?"

"I don't have to tell you that. Call me Himura."

Naoya didn't like his attitude.

He had a creepy demeanour, and his eyes on Toyotama, Naoya could see that he had hatred for her.

"Himura-san, if you want to fight this Sekirei, then please fight her with one Sekirei. Isn't it the best way to fight in these games? I don't know what you've got against this Sekirei-"

"What I've got against Higa, you mean." Himura spat out, with his eyes going towards Toyotama. "This one, is his Sekirei. Don't interfere with me. I hate how Higa runs things around the East, so I'll just be slaying this Sekirei if you don't mind."

Himura tried to have one of his Sekirei attack.

But Naoya got in the way, and stood before Toyotama.

"This isn't a fair fight. You were the aggressors, right? Did she attack you?"

"Actually, she was going to kidnap one of these lovely ladies." Naoya's eyes went back to Toyotama who kept her eyes down onto the floor, so his eyes turned back towards Himura, and listened to what he was saying. "So, she's not innocent in this. Higa is also an asshole, and taking down one of his Sekirei, who's been terrorizing other people and kidnapping Sekirei. Isn't that right?"

Naoya looked down at Toyotama once more.

Seeing the extent of her injuries.

He was surprised she hadn't been terminated from them, they were deep, and harsh.

She looked as if she had been through quite a bit.

"But, did she deserve to have such an attack on her? If your goal was terminating her...why did you attack her in such a manner? You could've touched her symbol, I saw that dart throwing girls skills, and the chain wielders skills. If they worked together, they could've terminated her... It's plain torture from what I can see!"

Naoya countered, Toyotama's eyes going up towards his own.

She felt complicated.

She wasn't sure what to feel.

This was supposed to be her enemy.

He had every reason to turn a blind eye, and simply walk off.

But, he wasn't and was standing up for her.

Himura placed his hands in his pocket.

"Who cares about her? She's ruthless, do you think she'd not torture her victims? She's no better than her Ashikabi. Both filth."

Toyotama's eyes began producing tears.

She wondered if this was her karma for what had happened.

Because she had an Ashikabi like Higa…

Naoya could see the regret on her face.

The sadness.

He wondered if what Yashima had said was right.

If Toyotama was depressed inside.

Naoya exhaled slowly, and kept his body between the Sekirei's to make sure that she wouldn't be attacked so easily.

Haihane also looked astonished that Naoya was defending a Sekirei that had tried to harm him.

Himura looked impressed.

"Is she your Sekirei? That Gothic Mummy."

Haihane's eyebrows twitched.

"No, she's not..."

"Ooh, so you've not got Sekirei?"

"I do, but like you said, that's not your business."

Himura showed a dirty smirk.

"If they're not around..."

Himura's hand went towards the dart throwing Sekirei…

But Haihane charged forward, and used her incredible speed to get in close. The dart thrower showed shock, and tossed a few darts at her vital spots to disable Haihane, but Haihane used her wired claws to slice through the darts, and caused them to fall harmlessly to the floor.

"Himura-sama!"

Haihane heard the dart thrower exclaim, but she wasn't interested.

"I'm No. 104, Haihane. You might not have to listen to that boy. But to me, since I'm a member of the Disciplinary Squad, you'll have to listen!"

Haihane scowled as she said it, getting in close, and sliced the dart user.

The woman jumped back, but her dress got torn, revealing the right side of her cleavage, Naoya like a gentleman looked away as the girl let out a cute cry.

"Y-You nearly cut off my breast!"

"Next will be the rest of you!"

Haihane said and went to attack.

But the chain wielder got in, launching some of her chains for Haihane.

Haihane's eyes went towards her, and went to attack, but Akitsu stepped forward, creating a wall of ice to defend against the chain attack, Himura's brows widened at the sight, and looked around...before seeing Akitsu standing beside Naoya.

"...So, you have an ice type..."

"When you people say that, it reminds me of Pokemon."

Haihane turned to Naoya with a large grin.

"Me too!"

Naoya lightly smiled at the gothic Sekirei who did the same thing, a small acknowledgement between them.

Haihane then turned towards the dart thrower, and used her incredible speed to blitz around her. Naoya was surprised to see Haihane moving so fast, the dart thrower couldn't even keep up with her at all.

When she tried to fire a dart, Haihane dodged out of the way, and got in close.

"Claws of Execution!"

Haihane swings her claws forward, and enclosed inwards, slashing through the clothes of the young Sekirei, and leaving large slash marks across her body, drawing blood out of her, and stunning her long enough for Haihane to move around behind her.

"N-No!"

The chain wielder tried to move, but Akitsu unleashed a barrage of ice, forcing the chain wielder to swing her chains downwards, catching the air as she did and slammed it down onto the ice, causing some of it to shatter, but some got through and cut her right breast, revealing some of it to Naoya.

Haihane then turned her claws onto the dart throwing Sekirei, and murmured "Talon's of Execution." and sliced outwards this time, leaving large slice marks across her body, a scream erupted out of the woman's mouth, as her Sekirei symbol disappeared.

Naoya was stunned to see the power of Haihane…

Rather, her speed was what made her dangerous.

She had defeated a Sekirei without much effort, showing why she was supposed to be on the Disciplinary Squad.

Himura looked stunned, seeing the woman's hand reaching out to him.

But he just spat out "Scum." and turned around, walking away from her, with the chain wielder following.

Haihane rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, leave your Sekirei on the ground like this...bastard."

Haihane didn't look happy with what was going on with Himura.

Haihane looked down at the Sekirei that she had defeated, and sighed.

Naoya noticed that she didn't seem to be exactly thrilled about terminating a Sekirei.

Despite it being her job, she truly was someone that didn't care about things like that.

Naoya then looked towards Toyotama, who's bewildered eyes were on Haihane.

Seeing her speed, her strength, Toyotama didn't believe she had what it took to beat her, and that terrified her.

Along with Akitsu being around.

Naoya then saw Toyotama place a hand on her weapon, wondering what she was going to do…

But then saw her charge for Haihane silently so Naoya called "Watch out!", and because she was so close, Haihane was stunned, going to defend, when Naoya came shoulder barging Toyotama down to the ground, and caused her to wince.

"What are you doing?! She helped save your life!"

Toyotama, panting on the ground, looked angrily.

"I got saved...by you boy…? How...How did that happen? When did I need saving in the first place? I was one of Master's strongest...but, I lost to two random Sekirei that I should've beaten...I don't understand..."

Haihane rolled her eyes…

But then looked towards Naoya, who defended her, and began blushing slightly, even catching herself in the blush.

Naoya could see the struggle within her eyes, and tried to speak to her "Toyotama-san..." but she wasn't having any of it.

"Why can't I stop thinking about you?!"

"E-Eh?"

"I keep thinking about it...the relationships you have with your Sekirei...with that damn No. 10, and No. 84, I keep seeing it...why are you...doing this?"

"Doing what? Showing care for my Sekirei?"

Naoya's question was met with an angered face of Toyotama.

But mixed into that, was a deep sadness.

A longing.

It was clear in her eyes that was the case.

"Right! It's so...I can't...don't even bother with me again! If I see you, I wont thank you! In fact, you're still my enemy! So don't bother with me! Especially you Gothic Mummy!"

Haihane gave a curious look as Toyotama hobbled off.

Looking back, she saw no resistance being offered to stop her.

Naoya just looked at her, then towards Haihane and Akitsu.

"She's got issues, huh."

Haihane murmured, while Naoya stepped forward.

"Thanks Haihane-san, for helping out."

Haihane scratched her cheek.

"Naah, it's all good."

"Still, thank you Haihane-san for what happened then."

Haihane lightly blushed, smiling as she saw Naoya offering a smile right back towards her.

Haihane was then surprised when she felt something pulsating within her heart.

She didn't know what it was…

Or maybe she did.

When she looked towards Naoya, she could find herself becoming more intrigued, interested in what he had to say, how he was as a person, and while she scouted Naoya out for Benitsubasa...she pondered if she could do anything for herself this time, and perhaps gain an Ashikabi like Naoya.

If she was reacting to him or not, she wasn't quite sure.

She could definitely felt something deep inside, if that lead to her gaining him as her Ashikabi was up to debate within her mind.

But at least, she knew he was a decent human being.

Soon afterwards, Haihane and Naoya separated, and Haihane went back to the area she lived in.

Walking into the living room, she saw Benitsubasa stood there, a gaze as cold as ice upon the Sekirei.

"I've done nothing..."

Haihane said in a dramatic voice, seeing Benitsubasa growing with rage.

"...What did you do?"

Seeing the miasma rolling off of her, Haihane could tell Benitsubasa was pissed.

"I was only joking with that picture. Like geez girl, chill out."

"It better be Haihane! You kissed his cheek you Gothic Mummy!"

Haihane winced at the tone.

"You know how I hate being called that..." Benitsubasa cracked her knuckles. "Alright, it doesn't matter. So...anyway, I've got stuff to tell you. About your Naoya-kun~"

Benitsubasa didn't show it, but she was rather excited.

So much so that she walked towards Haihane who went to the couches to sit down.

"W-Well? What about him?"

She asked, as Haihane sat down fully. Benitsubasa perched on the armrest to listen.

"We talked, and I explained a bit about you, telling him that you could be reacting to him. He seemed rather flattered by the idea of you reacting to him."

Benitsubasa developed a surprising shy expression to her, and gave a slight nod.

"W-Well, that's good...anything else?"

"Yeah, he seemed indifferent to your flat chest."

Benitsubasa grabbed a nearby lamp, and held it towards Haihane.

"That's not funny!"

"I'm not trying to be. He said he didn't care about the size of a woman's chest!"

Benitsubasa was taken aback, and rather than being offended, she was pleased that Naoya thought like that, if Haihane was telling the truth, and even she didn't know if she was at this point anymore, and merely showed a calm expression, as calm as she could anyway.

"If that's the case...then good. He's on the way to becoming a good Ashikabi for me. So, tell me more of what happened."

Haihane gained a smile, and did what Benitsubasa had asked.

Giving her details of the day, leaving out her own feelings on the matter.

She still had a few things that she needed to sort out.

That night, after the days events, Naoya laid in bed with his other Sekirei. Yashima, Kocho and Akitsu all clung to him as they slept.

Uzume could see that Naoya had many things on his mind, and pondered what was going on.

"Naoya-kun, are you still thinking about what happened with Toyotama?"

"I can't stop thinking about it. Her words were harsh...but, she looked to be on the verge of tears...she looked lonely."

"Maybe she was. But there's little we can do Naoya-kun. She is the enemy."

Naoya knew she was right.

But seeing a Sekirei like that did make him wonder if there was anything to be done…

But because she was Higa's, he couldn't do much for her.

"I know you're right, she is the enemy and if she tries anything then I'd have to have one of you stop her...but, I don't know...I just feel that she's going through quite a lot...aah, anyway. How's Chiho-san Uzume-san?"

Uzume was glad that even through all his worries, he still thought about Chiho, just showing that he really did care for Chiho just as much as she did, which is also a good reason for Chiho to be a good match up with Naoya.

"Chiho's great! She seems to be getting a bit better each day. She's got a long way to go but…" Uzume leaned forward, and caught his lips with her own, drawing out her Sekirei wings, which shined above her. "...thanks to you Naoya-kun, she's recovering nicely."

Naoya was happy to hear it.

He also was happy for Uzume to have some peace of mind.

"I hope so. Maybe they'll find a cure for her."

"Maybe. But ignoring that, Toyotama is dangerous Naoya-kun. Especially if she's going to be coming after you. You have to remain careful, and make sure that you're protected at all times, I dot want anything bad to happen to you."

Naoya placed a hand on Uzume's face, gently stroking her cheek.

He then smiled towards her, making her smile also.

He was grateful for Uzume, she always could make him feel better.

Back at her room, Toyotama reflected on what she had seen today.

How Naoya came to save her, despite what she had done.

What she had said in response.

How she tried to attack Haihane…

"Stupid..."

She murmured, looking down at herself.

Thinking about the events, she wished that she could have changed them.

How she could have stopped it from happening.

She was conflicted on the emotions she was supposed to feel.

Then her door opened, and stepped in Higa.

His eyes went over her wounds, and then towards her face.

Toyotama's eyes brimmed with hope that he had come to check on her, and comfort her…

But, all he did was simply raise an eyebrow.

"So, you got hurt again, did you?"

"I-I was ambushed Higa-sama, I'm sorry! Please give me another chance to see that I can do things also..."

Higa sighed deeply.

"You keep failing me. I even gave you a simple task today and you still failed. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with you..."

"I'll do better! I'll try harder! Higa-sama, please..."

Higa just stared at her, before sighing.

"I've got business to deal with. Stay here, and rest. When you're back to being able to fight, I'll see if there's a place for you here."

Toyotama silently bowed, looking down at the ground as she felt a pang of sadness erupt inside of her.

She then watched him leave, and her face turned sadder, and sadder.

She couldn't even think properly.

She was being caught between different things, and how she was going to make it up to Higa…

But at the same time, she didn't know why she'd have to do that.

It just felt sickening to her that she had to do things of that nature.

Letting out a small breath, Toyotama pondered what her life would've been like if she had Higa be nice to her, to love her, to show her affection, like she keeps seeing Naoya do with his other Sekirei…

All she wanted after all, was someone to treat her kindly, and love her.

End chapter!

So, this chapter focused a bit on Haihane and how she met up with Naoya, becoming a bit closer with him, and by the end...it seemed a spark happened between them, Haihane felt something deep inside of her, all the while Toyotama's struggling emotions make her do an outburst that she regrets, but due to how muddled up her emotions are, it's hard for her to control them.

Meanwhile, it seems Takami and Kocho have discovered something about Naoya, and what it could mean for his future. Yashima also believes that she's seeing 'ghosts' around, and Naoya along with Uzume ponder more about Toyotama and share a small private moment between the two of them.

Well, until next time, thanks for reading!
