Applejack called each of her friends.

"They're only here because they're hungry," said Fluttershy in her sweet gentle voice.

"They're pests," said Applejack shortly. "They're a bunch o' monsters, that's what!"

"That's harsh!" said Fluttershy indignantly. "They're not monsters, can't you see that?"

"No, I do not," replied Applejack stubbornly. "Those vampire bats will give you a fright.

Eating apples both day and night

They rest for a minute, maybe three

Then they're eatin' every apple in your apple tree

They don't care about nada, not zilch, no, nothin'

'Cept bringin' about an orchard's destruction."

"Now wait just a minute, there's another side to this

And if I did not defend them, then I would be remiss

These bats are mamas and papas too

They care for their young just like we ponies do," argued Fluttershy gently.

Applejack brushed her hand through her hair frustratedly. "Oh, give me a break, you're bein' too kind

These creatures have a one-track mind

The orchard is not their restaurant

But do they ever think what others may want?

No! They don't! And that is just a fact

These bats, they simply don't know how to act,"

Fluttershy glared at Applejack. "That's where I have to disagree

They're loyal to their family

Spreading seeds both far and wide,"

Applejack glared right back. "You see one comin', you'd better run and hide!" Applejack raised her hooves.

"They're big and ugly and mean as sin

Will ya look at the state my trees are in?"

Fluttershy built a model of a tree. "They help your trees, they'll grow stronger faster,"

Applejack brushed aside the model. "They've turned my life to a total disaster!"

The other girls circled around Fluttershy. Fluttershy started to cower.

"Well, I for one don't have a doubt

These vermin must be stamped right out," said Rarity

"I second that, they've got to go

These bats, they've got to hit the road," replied Rainbow Dash.

Applejack stomped her hoof angrily. "It comes down to just one simple fact

They've crossed the line, it's time to fight them back!"

The other girls circled Fluttershy again, Fluttershy cowering, the others chanting: "Stop the bats! Stop the bats!

Make them go and not come back!

Stop the bats! Stop the bats!

Make them go and not come back!

Stop the bats! Stop the bats!

Make them go and not come back!"

Applejack turned her back on Fluttershy. "Yes, it comes down to just one simple fact

They've crossed the line, it's time that we attack!"

Rarity put her arm around Fluttershy. "I'm sorry, Applejack did have the better argument,"

The others nodded.

"But maybe instead of driving them away, we build a sanctuary for them!" said Fluttershy passionately.

"Fluttershy's right," said Sunset. "It's mean to drive them apart. I mean, they do have families too, like we do, unless it's me, who I was abandoned when I was 4 years old."

"And I want my cider!" cried Rainbow Dash.

"SHUT UP!" cried Rarity. "No one cares about cider. We need to decide: Bats or not."
