"How did you two sleep?"
The blonde kid shook his head- so he hadn't slept at all. The dark haired one simply frowned.
"Rather troubled, now that I think about it. I think I had a weird dream."
"Oh, uh," the wolf rocked on his feet. "Because of all of this?"
Kyoya shook his head. "No, no. We appreciate the hospitality Kouga. I simply woke up feeling like I was missing something."
"Oh," Tamaki exclaimed suddenly. "You too?"
Kouga looked at them oddly, then cross referenced it to how Kagome had behaved the night earlier. Crying out for someone, her hand always reaching towards someone elses. It was odd, that was the only word for it. Somehow their little pocket of confinement seemed to have given them the foundations for pack bonds.
"Come on," Kouga said, smiling. "I think I've got somebody to help with that."
Kouga gave the humans a run down during their walk. It was rather extraordinary: a whole community of animalistic humanoids, beings of literal myth and legend. The significant role that The Woman had played in history.
Kouga had smiled when he heard Kyoya call her that. Under his breath, the wolf had laughingly mumbled something like "Her name's Kagome. Ka-Go-Me."
Clearing his throat, Kouga explained that their pack had been notified of Kagome's abduction on their territory. "Kagome wanders from the main branch, but she is pack. She's under our care and guidance, along with a local dog pack and a fox den."
They reached the temporary medical room and ducked inside.
"Sounds like a lot of history," Tamaki commented.
Kouga barked a laugh. "Like you wouldn't believe," he agreed, then scratched his nose. "Lot of confused phone calls, too. Explaining is impossible when there's three other parties who want to talk first."
"Canines," said a soft voice, immediately drawing Kouga near. "Always want the last word."
"C'mon Kagome, don't stress yourself. Here," Kouga helped her sit up and face her surprised visitors, allowing them a better look at her.
Kagome cleaned up nicely; her hair had been groomed, her back mending and healing along well. She had a kinder appearance when not covered in filth, and her disposition seemed to brighten at the sight of the two humans.
Tamaki's hand reached up to curl over his heart. His eyes softened into molten indigo, and his mouth had slightly opened.
Kyoya was in a similar state, only clenching his hands open and closed.
The Woman smiled.
"I'll take you up on that offer for crêpe Suzette now."
