A/N: There is finally going to be a proper Outer Worlds DLC. They might be a little later to the party than I'd like but that's not going to stop me from buying it as soon as I'm able to. If I can I'll somehow integrate it into a future part of the Story. For now though we get to see how Halcyon handles the idea of a full scale Reaper invasion. And as the Chapter's name suggest we get a completely different introduction to a very well known character.

Chapter 5: Sapphire Wine And Ash

When the Reaper invasion began one of the few Clusters not to suffer from any immediate attacks was Halcyon. This was of course all in thanks to their very limited contact with the rest of the Galaxy. As well as another important reason yet to be revealed to anyone.

Most people didn't believe Welles or even the Chairman when they told them that an invasion was coming. However out of those few who did end up believing them most weren't even afraid of the threat. They had faith that the Captain would put a stop to things before they took too much of a turn for the worse.

Technically that's exactly what she was trying to do. It was just happening in a completely different part of the Galaxy. Phineas knew that if the Reapers even closely resembled how the Alliance had described them in great detail, everyone inside of Halcyon would be wiped out in a matter of weeks upon contact with them.

For this reason Welles planned on spending whatever time he had left preparing Halcyon for their inevitable arrival. This mainly included the Doctor traveling all across the Cluster trying to get more people aware of the situation. He also began to develop more and more technological wonders and a few new types of weapons. He would try and distribute these items evenly among groups that could actually put up a decent fight.

He even attempted to call back the Captain and ask for her to stay and defend Halcyon. However he was advised to refrain from trying this any further. He was also given the reminder that not every other location in the Galaxy was as lucky as Halcyon. In fact most of them were in a state of despair and the people living in them had lost a good portion of their hope.

So for the time being Welles continued to do all he could for his respected System. While he continued to try and be of some assistance, one of the Captain's old crew members sat in The Lost Hope, a small bar located on the Groundbreaker. This person's name was Parvati. And while she was trying to peacefully enjoy her glass of Sapphire Wine, she was also forced to listen to Lilya Hagen continue on her rant about how she was right about Aliens existing.

Lilya was also drinking a glass of the very rare alcoholic beverage, though she had already consumed quite a large quantity of it. ''The worst part is I know that all of my friends and employees thought I was crazy... or just very weird.'' She said, her words being slurred do to her intoxication level. ''But just look at me now. I was more correct than that one guy. What was his name... Jesus or something? And the only one that ever had faith in me was your boss.''

Parvati quickly took away the glass from Lilya before she suffered from a very bad case of passing out and never waking up. She had seen the Captain use the tactic to get rid of a target once before on Byzantium. However the act just made Lilya order two more of the bottles.

After giving her a small frown Parvati attempted to persuade her to stop drinking. ''Look, you don't need to keep explaining just how right you were all along.'' She said, trying to grab hold of both of the bottles. ''But drinking yourself to death is no way to celebrate being correct over a theory.''

Because of how drunk she was Lilya was unable to keep either of the bottles in her hands. As a result they crashed onto the floor and smashed into small pieces of glass. To Parvati's surprise Lilya actually started crying over the destruction of her happy juice.

Despite her sobbing she explained the real reason as to why she was celebrating. ''Don't get me wrong, it feels really good to be right about Aliens being real. But you know what's better than being right about them? Being able to find one of them alive.''

That little statement made Parvati's eyes widen. ''What exactly are you trying to get at, Hagen?'' Her eyes only widened further when Lilya began to laugh after she asked the question. It was actually a little bit creepy to be witness to.

Slowly rubbing her hands together Lilya moved her chair around the table so she was now situated right next to Parvati. After checking to make sure that no one was watching them or trying to listen in on their conversation she began to whisper into her friend's ear.

Of course not before she stole her glass and drank all of the Wine that was left. ''A few Weeks ago I sent a small group to Scylla to look for any valuables that they could find.'' She took a quick pause, feeling like she was going to throw up. She manged to hold it back however. ''Let me just say that what they found goes beyond the definition of valuable. It's either going to make me very rich or famous. Hell, more I think about it it'll probably do both.''

Needless to say Parvati was now fully intrigued with what Lilya was telling her. ''Alright, there's no need for you to explain any further. I get it, you found yourself an Alien. If you'd have told me this earlier I wouldn't believe you in my entire lifetime.''

Hagen gave her a quick wink. ''But because you are now also a firm believer you have no choice to believe in me.'' The crazy evil laughing then returned. ''Seriously, you have no idea how good it feels to be right about something people called you crazy for believing in for years.''

Little did Lilya know that most people aboard the Groundbreaker still considered her to be quite the mental patient. ''Oh I get it, you want me to go to Scylla with you so I can get a good look at this thing myself. Make sense that you'd call me here for that. But don't you think that we should wait until you're able to fly again before we head out?''

Giving her a pat on the back and a thumbs up, Lilya assured her that there was no need for that. ''Relax, I'm already way ahead of you. I had the brilliant idea to release the Alien of undetermined ethnic origin onto the Groundbreaker and as a sign of friendship I armed him with dozens of weapons. I'm sure that as soon as he sees us he'll want to give me a great big hug.''

This time when Parvati's eyes widened it was not out of curiosity or confusion but instead worry. ''Alright, it's official.'' She said, wanting to slap one of her old employers in the face. ''You are never allowed to drink again.''
