CHAPTER 1

Prologue

The first thing I did just as I woke up with a headache was groaning. "Uugh my head… the next time I go out drinking with the guys, I'll have to be careful not to accept Mike's challenge since that son of a bitch knows how to drink. I don't know what I was thinking!"

The next thing I noticed was that I wasn't really at home. Rather I was on an alley on the ground with the clothes I was wearing. I was wearing a black T-shirt with a white fleur de Lis design on my chest, blue tattered jeans with holes on my knees, and purple sneakers.

"God, hope those jerks hadn't left me here alone. Those assholes." I muttered bitterly as I rose up from the ground and dusted off the dirt.

I got out of the alley and looked around if I could know where the fuck I was.

The last thing I remembered was that the guys had made me a surprise party for my 23rd birthday and we went to a bar to drink and celebrate. And shit, there were some good alcohols and the blueberry cake was the best of it!

Let's make a description of my background. I'm a 23 years old Asian living in New York with my family. I work part-time in a clothing store while also studying at a university. I'm 170.2cm tall and I'm quite healthy since I take courses in the gym. I have a black messy hair a little stubble over my lips for a mustache and goatee. I do have some muscles but not the type bodybuilders have but I keep in shape for if I have to look tough or fight back.

Continuing with my current situation, the guys had gifted me some good presents but the one I liked was a 3rd Street Saints necklace as they knew I was a fanatic on the Volition Inc. game of Saints Row Saga. I loved most of the characters and even could respect some villains. But they messed it up mostly since they underestimated the Saints Row Streets like the ants they were. How wrong they were. All except Benjamin 'Fucking' King since he was the coolest character that turned good after his bitch asses of Lieutenants made a coup against him.

Patting myself, I recalled that I placed it somewhere and I managed to find it behind my pants.

"There you are beautiful!" I gazed happily at the necklace and put it on around my neck proudly. "Now to get home and change my clothes. And maybe give those shits a word or two about leaving me here."

I walked around the streets without batting an eye on the people. Sure, there were some shady people around, hookers, and even the scammers selling their craps on the idiots.

Just then, I batted an eye on a woman that was walking on the corner. She was a Caucasian with tanned skin, brown long hair tied on a ponytail, she had amber eyes which this was my first time seeing them; she was wearing a black T-shirt, blue baggy jeans, and white sneakers, and was approximately 169cm tall and had a well-developed body.

Somehow it didn't take long to see that it felt familiar but I couldn't place where.

"Watches! I've got watches here! Yo, hey girl, this shit'd cost you 600 dollars in the store." A black man called out showing his products to her which she ignored. "Aw, whatever… Watches!"

I remember! This is the prologue of the Saints Row! But, wasn't the game supposed to have only male characters at the beginning later putting the female version in Saints Row 2?!

"Hey, baby!" A smooth female came to me while I was distracted and I could see that she was a hooker working on a corner. "I could show you a good time."

I could really go with that but I had a standard but before I could answer her, someone was shouting not far from us.

"Oh, hell no!" Our attention went to three guys wearing yellow-colored outfits, standing in front of a wall that had a blue graffiti with the word 'Rollerz'.

And oh shit, if I was inside the first game of Saints Row, that meant that the Westside Rollerz, Los Carnales, and the Vice Kings were here and that would also mean that the 3rd Street Saints were also here! What the hell is going on?!

"Levar!" One of the Vice Kings called out his other black colleague holding graffiti-can. "You gonna let those bitches disrespect us?!"

"Shit, what you think?" He agreed and started drawing over the graffiti with their gang name.

As Levar was continuing drawing the Vice Kings logo on the wall, three members of the Rollerz came behind them, not liking at all what the Vice Kings were doing on their turf.

"The fuck you think you're doin'?" One Rollerz, holding a bat, demanded.

"Jus' bein' civic-minded, is all." The fat Vice Kings responded without care.

"That so?" Another Rollerz said challengingly.

"Yeah, some dumb ass cracka went and shit on this wall, and we jus' cleanin' it up." The first Vice Kings answered before receiving a bat on his face.

It then started a fight between the six of them as I watched dumbly at them. If this was the way how gangs started fighting, then I'm dreading to think once they take out the big guns. One of the Rollerz ran away with one of the Vice Kings following behind him and throwing the graffiti can at him.

Just as I thought about it, a red car came on with three Hispanic wearing the Carnales' outfit in front of the Vice Kings and the Rollerz.

"Hector says "Buenas noches…" One of them said before taking out a T3K Urban and started shooting at them. The Vice Kings and Rollerz retaliated taking out their own guns. But with one wielding a T3K Urban and a K6 Krukov, the Vice Kings and Rollerz weren't able to do anything since some dudes started dying.

Just when the Carnales that held the T3K Urban was reloading, one of the Vice Kings that threw back the graffiti-can managed to take the chance to take out his GDHC .50 and clap him. But the Carnales that was holding the K6 Krukov killed him in cold blood.

The Rollerz that ran away came back with a K6 Krukov of his own and started shooting at the car. The car bolted away from the bullets but a stray bullet managed to hit the driver and the car started to drive uncontrollably to the Caucasian girl.

I can say many things that I'm not a hero but letting the car kill her wasn't one my wish list. So I ran as fast as I could and tackled her away from the car, and the car slammed toward the wall and started burning.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I finally noticed that I was over her and she looked quite terrified that the car almost killed her.

"Y-Yeah, I think so." She muttered.

I noticed back that the Rollerz that shot the car was walking toward the remaining member of the Carnales and finished him up; just before the Vice Kings with a GDHC .50 shot him on the head.

And then his attention went to us. I was scared shitless. To think that I had to die here in my favorite game in the world was just a dream. But looking back, I noticed that she was even terrified than I was. Guess she wasn't the well-known gangster boss after all those years from shits and giggles. So I did the only thing I could do, I shielded her with my body despite the danger as she held tightly on my shirt.

"Wrong time, wrong place, dawgs." The Vice Kings said before pulling the trigger.

We both shut our eyes before we could feel pain.

BANG!

I still had my eyes closed but I couldn't feel anything from that shot, so I opened slowly my eyes and saw that the Vice Kings grunt was one the ground and I let a sigh of relief that I didn't die here. The same thing could be said when the girl behind me felt the relief of not dying.

"You okay, playas?" A deep masculine voice sounded next to us and I turned to see Julius Little with Troy just behind him.

And shit, I don't know if I should feel grateful or resentful for his presence. I mean, Julius was a cool character but that didn't take long when he did that blasted thing to the MC of the first game and got himself killed in the SR2. And Troy? He was a fucking undercover cop and even if he was the Second-in-command in the 3rd Street Saints, that did give the privilege to become a fucking member of the gang. But for now, he's cool in my book. For now.

"Julius, let's move," Troy said as Julius helped me stand up and I helped the girl stand.

We started walking away before the Carnales' car exploded.

BOOM!

We managed to be away from the explosion but my ears still rang from it. I sat down next to the girl while Julius and Troy were in front of us while standing.

"That don't look so bad, you should be fine," Julius said while kneed down. "That's Troy. You can thank him later."

"Thanks," I said thankfully with the girl nodding.

"Hey, no problem."

"I saw you saving her despite the danger and the Row ain't safe no more, son. We got gangs fightin' over shit that ain't theirs, and you two in their way. They don't care if you representin' or not." He told us before noticing my necklace. "Either that or you're representing us with that target."

I looked at my necklace in surprise before putting it inside my shirt. "Yeah, sorry about that, I didn't think that they would care."

"Julius, this is no time to recruit," Troy told him in a hurry.

"We need all the help we can get, son," Julius replied.

"No, we need to get our asses outta here." He urged Julius.

"In a minute! Look, the Row's got a problem. Come to the church when you wanna be a part of the solution." He told us before he and Troy walked away from the carnage.

The girl and I looked at each other before we also walked away from the carnage before we could hear the cops and ambulance coming.

-o-

Walking away from the danger, we ended up resting on a bench. I could really start to panic the danger that I just got myself involved. First, I don't know how I got myself inside the Saints Row world and Stilwater. Second, I got between the first three major gang factions and survived despite almost dying by one of them. And third, I spoke to Julius Little like another fucking person! And the MC of the SR saga is a woman!

Not that I'm complaining about but I didn't think that I would meet her like this!

"Hey…" She said suddenly bringing me to her attention. "I… Thank you."

I cocked an eyebrow at her. "For what?"

"For saving me from that car." She explained. "I got freaked out when those gangs started shooting at each other and when the car started coming at me… I froze…"

"Hey." I nudged her trying to comfort her. "It's alright. We're both okay. We got saved by that Troy guy and Julius so I don't think that we will be in danger for the time being."

If I recall from the SR4, the MC mentioned something when he or she was saving King. He or she said that he or she was scared shitless so that was the reason that in SR didn't talk at all! But I didn't think that it would be like this! Guess the years gave him or her some backbone and strength.

"Yeah… yeah, I think so." She nodded. "So, you're going to join their gang?"

I sighed wearily. "I don't know. Maybe? I'm still new in this city and I don't have a place to stay." I still don't know if I have enough to stay in a motel before getting money.

"Maybe, I can help with that." She said.

I blinked in confusion. "With what?"

"You can stay with me until you can get somewhere of your own." She offered.

I blinked twice. "I, uh, don't think it is a great idea."

She frowned quite offended. "Why? Because I'm a woman?"

"Well, yeah, and because you're asking a guy and stranger to your house?" I said.

"Well, you did save me and I'm just helping you." She explained. "I can handle on my own but what just happened, that was new."

I tried to come up with something… but nothing came to me and I agreed. "Fine, but I'll stay on your couch or something. I don't mind."

She nodded and guided me to her home.

-o-

Her home was comfy and had style, mostly because she used light colors but the color I noticed the most was purple. She did have different things with non-purple colors but her room? Her room was practically purple.

"So… You like purple." I drawled out.

"Well, yes, it was fuchsia but through the years I started liking the color purple." She admitted as she walked toward her room.

"Well, mine is indigo but I can get what you are saying." I shrugged.

She came back with a pillow and a bedsheet. "Here you go."

"Thanks. I'm sorry for taking the place." I apologized.

"None taken, you saved my life despite being a stranger. I think that this is evening us out."

"So, uh, I'm late for introductions. The name's Jackie Lee, but feel free to call me whatever you like."

"Lee." She smiled. "Yeah, alright, my name's Katelyn Williams. Or simply call me Kate."

"Nice name," I said smoothly.

She blushed. "Thanks."

"So, what are you going to do?" I asked. "I don't know but I think that I'm going to join the Saints."

"Why?" She asked confused.

"I mean, you saw what those guys: the Westside Rollerz, the Vice Kings, and the Carnales did on the streets. We ain't safe from them even if we wanted to. And the 3rd Street Saints are a docile bunch that can change them for the best."

"And you want to join them just to be able to change?"

"No, no, that's not what I mean." I dismissed. "What I mean is that, if at least a group or gang is able to fight against them, I think a person that I can change can be able to it out."

"And you're saying that you're the one who will change the streets? That's madness." She proclaimed.

"I know, I know, but hear me out. I'm just a guy that got entangled with this shit the moment I witnessed that gang fight. And as we were about to die by their hands, the Saints saved us from them. We own them at least this much of respect to saving two bunch of strangers that were about to die on the streets." I explained. "Don't you see? If the Saints hadn't been there, you and I would have been corpses in that street. And I'm no pussy to walk away when I'm able to change something."

She looked at me owlishly. "Shit, when you put it like that."

"So, tomorrow, I'm going to the church to join the gang and change Stilwater for the better. And nobody will stop me from doing it."

She smiled for a moment and I could see in her eyes that she decided something in her mind. "Yeah, I guess that I'll join too."

"Shit, really?" I asked.

"Well, yeah! You convinced enough to join the Saints and I'm willing to help you. You like it or not." She said.

I simply shrugged. "Hell, I'm thankful enough that you're joining with me, Kate."

"Yeah, but don't tell my name to them yet until I get to say it."

I raised my hand in surrender. "Alright, fine, I'm leaving you as Julius' said 'playa' or maybe I should give you another nickname."

"Fine by me but don't start spreading my name, Lee." She warned.

"Okay, okay, no need to get mad at me."

"Good." She smiled before entering her room. "Good night, Lee."

"Night, Kate." I waved at her and her door closed.

I quietly rested on the couch and started drifting off to my sleep. Despite being sad that I won't be able to see my parents or friends, I hope that this world can change my mind because of it.

Hopefully, if I manage to return, at least I want to return being a badass. And this world, I will make nothing wrong happens to the Saints even if those people had to be the same people inside the gang.
