I got the idea just recently. Well, given what's going on right now, might as well just give a good laugh. Or something or other. I don't know. This what happens when an OC gets added in with the Reds and Blues on their misadventures. Enter Elaine Callahan, a new recruit for the Blue Army.

Just a disclaimer: Red vs Blue is owned by Rooster Teeth. You guys are awesome. Also, this fic will have swearing and some violence. Mostly the swearing.

Anyways, enjoy.

Prologue: Enter Elaine Callahan

Blood Gulch Outpost Alpha (Blue Base)

Today is just like any other day in Blood Gulch. However, things aren't quite as they normally seem. Two Blue soldiers were standing over something within the confines of their base. "Oh that's just great… This is just fucking fantastic." The man in the cobalt armor snapped

"Dude, how would I know that the Captain died in his sleep." The one in the Blue armor answered him "It's not like he died from old age."

"It doesn't matter right now. He's dead. And that would mean we need replacements. And also given the fact that the Reds have us outnumbered right now." The former said to his partner

"Well, if that's settled, I call dibs on his armor Church."

"Fine, whatever, just do what you normally do Tucker, and I'll get on the horn with Command." Church said to him while Tucker went somewhere secluded to replace his armor with that of the Captain's. "Come in, Command. This is Blood Gulch Outpost Alpha, do you read?"

"Command to Blood Gulch Outpost Alpha, how can we assist you?" Command asked Church

"Hi, so uh… We seem to have a problem. Our Captain, Butch Flowers, he just seemingly died in his sleep, so we're outnumbered mostly."

"Roger that Outpost Alpha, we have one good option for you." Command offered "This one calls for extra reinforcements and a heavy vehicle for you to use. However, as far as soldiers go, one will be available immediately, while the other will arrive with the special delivery."

"That… will actually do, Command." Church answered Command straightly "How soon can we expect with the extra delivery?"

"Few days is what I can put in the time frame. For that one soldier, it'll come in a few minutes"

"Sounds good. Outpost Alpha, out." He ended his transmission with Command, just as Tucker returned, with new colors.

"Okay, Church, how does it look?" Tucker asked him

"Terrifying." He answered without a care in the world

"You know, this armor really suits me. Color's nice to. So, what did Command tell us?"

"Turns out we're getting reinforcements, Tucker. However, both coming in separate packages. One's coming now, another coming in a few days."

"Really?" Just then, a sound of the transport landed on the roof of the base. Church and Tucker went outside to inspect it. "Also, since Captain Flowers is dead, who's leading this army?"

"…"

"…"

"Dibs." Church answered finally

"Why do you call dibs?"

"Fast reactions, Tucker." Just as they arrived on the roof, the new reinforcement arrived. It was wearing some armor that was never seen before. The color of it is the same as Church's, albeit with crimson trim. And with it, it's armed with an M7S Caseless SMG, an M60 Magnum Pistol and a Grenade in case.

"So, I guess this is Blood Gulch Outpost Alpha, right?" The newcomer asked

"Yeah, and-Wait! Command didn't tell us a chick is part of the reinforcement!" Tucker shouted with glee

"You mean to tell me that you've never seen a girl before?" The newcomer asked Tucker "How long were you guys in this canyon?"

"Ages. It's just so… boring." Church answered "By the way, that's Tucker, I'm Church. And… apart from that… Welcome to Blue Team, I guess."

"You have a name, rookie?" Tucker asked her

"Elaine. Elaine Callahan." Elaine answered

"Again, welcome to Blue Team, Callahan. And you're just in time, because, Church here designated himself as leader."

"And may I ask what happened to the other leader?" Elaine asked them

"Long story short, Captain Flowers just died in his sleep." Church answered "And just recently, Tucker slipped out of his old armor into his."

"I don't know whether to call that terrifying, or just stealing."

"Stealing into your body, am I right? Bow-chicka-bow-OW!" Elaine just swiftly socked Tucker across the head "Dude! What was that for!?"

"I could ask the same for you." Elaine flexed her hand after punching him

"You know what, I'm actually starting to like this recruit." Church said aloud "Tell you what, Kid. Effective immediately, I'm placing you as my second-in-command." Elaine was about to speak just as Tucker chirped in.

"Church, seriously? She just got here."

"Doesn't matter right now. I just named her second in that title sense, and that's that." Church answered him.

"Fine. But don't come crying if she does things her way."

"So, Kid. What are you most well-versed at?" Church asked her

"Well, I did attend ODST training before Command sent me here for reasons beyond my understanding." She began "I'm not that much of a brawler, but when it comes to a sharpshooter, even with an SMG… Let's just say I'm a sight for sore eyes."

"Lucky for you, I am a marksman myself, Callahan." Church confidently said to her "Just stick with me, and you'll be just fine. But, not literally."

"In a plutonic kind of way."

"Yes! This I can live with!" Church shouted with glee while Elaine just sighed deeply, thinking that she's the only person that's sane in the canyon.

Days Later

After Elaine get herself acquainted with the daily routines of the Blue Army, Church both called her and Tucker over for today's mission. Needless to say, it is beneficial, if not downright boring. "Alright, Elaine, Tucker. We're going to do some recon duty today. Mainly to spy on the Red Base to see their movements."

"That… doesn't sound so bad." Elaine answered

"Just wait when we start doing recon, Kid." Tucker said to her "It'll get boring, and one of us would have to sleep somewhere."

"Could be worse, Tucker." Elaine said

"We'll recon them along the cliff near the base, and observe from there. You two, meanwhile, will keep watch for movement if they catch wind. Sounds easy enough, yes?"

"So long as we don't get caught…" Elaine said quietly

"Well, let's get going. Also, Callahan, try not to get killed on your first assignment." Church ordered her

"I've only been here for a couple of days, so I'll be just fine, Church." With that, the three departed the base, walked nearly across the entire canyon and made their way up the cliff. "Well, we're here. I guess we'll see what they do, huh?"

"Then prepare to be disappointed, Elaine." Tucker answered "You're in for quite the boredom."

Thirty Minutes Later

"Church, I forgot to ask, who are the Red guys?" Elaine asked him, while the latter is still watching through his Sniper Rifle.

"Red Team is being led by Sarge."

"Sarge? What kind of name is that?" Elaine commentated

"Must be his rank. I don't know, maybe he names stuff around his armor, but never his full name." Church then scoped out the other two Red soldiers, one in Orange armor, and the other, in Maroon. "Guy on the left is Grif. By my knowledge, he's as cunning as he is dangerous. Someone you don't want to mess with. And that there is Simmons. Pretty smart, but prone to pressure. Really a kiss-up when it comes to rank."

"I only wonder what they are talking about." Elaine said aloud

Red Base (About the same time)

"Hey."

"Yeah?"

"You ever wonder why we're here?" Simmons asked

"It's one of life's greatest mysteries, isn't it?" Grif answered "Why ARE we here. I mean, are we the product of… some cosmic coincidence, or… is there really a God? Watching everything? You know, with a plan for us and stuff. I don't know, man. But it keeps me up at night."

"…"

"…"

"…What? I mean, why are we out here, in this canyon?" Simmons pointed out "I mean, what was all the stuff about God?"

"Nothing…" Grif answered

"You wanna talk about it?"

"No."

"You sure?" Grif reaffirmed his answer with a 'Yes'. "Seriously though, why are we out here? As far as I can tell, it's just a box canyon in the middle of nowhere, with no way in or out. The only reason that we set up a Red base here, is because they have a Blue base over there. And the only reason they have a Blue base over there, is because we have a Red base over there."

"Yeah, but that's because we are fighting each other." Grif pointed out as well

"No, no, but I mean, if we were to pull out today, and if they were to come and take our base, they would have TWO bases in the middle of a box canyon."

"Yeah, but, you did see a transport carrying something over to the Blue base days ago, right?"

"I did. Maybe some delivery of their own. Must be really helpful for them, I'm afraid."

Recon Point

As Church was watching the events through the Sniper's Scope, Elaine meanwhile, was just sitting down, a little sleepy. "Geez… would've been a little better if things are tense…"

"Welcome to recon duty, Kid." Tucker patted her back before asking Church "So… what are they doing?"

"What?"

"I just asked, 'What are they doing?'."

"God damn, I'm getting so sick of answering that question." Church started snapping at him

"You have the fucking rifle, I can't see shit!" Tucker countered "Don't bitch at me because I'm not going to just sit up here and play with my dick."

"Hey! Keep it down… They might here us." Elaine pointed out "Just be glad that they didn't even bother to hear you two shouting, otherwise they might charge up the cliff. Also, you do what when you're on the cliff?"

"Okay, okay." Church calmed down a little before talking again "Look Tucker. They're just standing around and talking, okay? That's all they're doing. That's all they EVER do, is just stand around in that one spot, and talk. That's what they were doing last week. That's what they were doing when you asked me five minutes ago. So five minutes from now, when you ask me, 'What are they doing?', my answer is gonna be, 'They're still just standing there, and they're still talking.'".

"…So… what are they talking about?" Clearly, Tucker didn't get all that. Church mentally slapped his forehead

"…You know what? I fucking hate you." Church stated clearly

"Well… welcome to Blue Team, Elaine." Elaine said to herself "Where every soldier is located in a box canyon who just stands and talks. Would've been a little better if I were placed somewhere else. Or an ODST." Church and Tucker just looked at the recruit "What?"

"To tell you the truth, Kid. I guess no one wants to be placed in this box canyon." Church answered her "Just want to go out and see the world?"

"…And you borrowed a quote from a children's TV show. What are the chances."

"Plenty of those, Elaine. Just shush." Elaine just shrugged her shoulders as the entire Blue Team continued to recon Red Base. Needless to say, it'll be one of many adventures for all the soldiers in box canyon. And one Elaine Callahan.

To be fair, not my best openings, but it might work. Also, I have taken liberty with the weapons and armor that Elaine has compared with the Blood Gulch Crew. I mean, the Reds and Blues are wearing SPARTAN Mk. V Armor from Halo: Combat Evolved and Mk. VI armor in the next few games. As far as Elaine goes, her armor is primarily ODST based, mainly the Generation 2 Helljumper armor.

I also think that the Blood Gulch Chronicles might take place after the Human-Covenant War. But I could be wrong. Let's just say that Elaine joined the UNSC after the war and vice versa. Also, here's Elaine's profile.
