Prologue

Academy City

School District 7

"Ah man! I never knew all of that jogging would be this tiring!" Pants a girl with long, black hair alongside a flower hairpin on the left side of her head.

2nd-Year Sakugawa Middle School student, Ruiko Saten, has just finished working out in the morning and is walking up the steps of her dormitory. She was later expecting company over soon. As she reached the front door to her new apartment, she notices a package sitting there.

"Huh?" Ruiko questions. "I didn't order anything on the internet."

She picks it up and reads the note attached to the box.

'To Ruiko Saten and her friends,' It reads.

Ruiko was a bit shocked that someone knows her and her friends somehow. Probably someone from her school? Not likely considering the package doesn't say whose it from. However, she feels uneasy about opening it because it could be a prank or something deadly inside.

"I'm not taking any chances." She says aloud as she takes out her phone and calls her best friend Kazari Uiharu, who answered and was informed of the situation about a strange package by her doorstep that's meant for herself and the others.

An hour later...

Her three friends have already arrived at her apartment as they sit on the floor of Ruiko's bedroom staring at the package and figuring out who sent it and what to do with it.

"So the note only mentioned you and the rest of us?" Level 4 Teleporter Kuroko Shirai asks. "Strange. A package without the name of a postal service makes it difficult to track down who left it by your doorstep."

"Agreed." Uiharu nods. "Whoever sent it really wants us to open it."

"Well, I don't know." Ruiko nervously says. "I know I like looking into urban legends, but opening a package sent by a stranger is another story."

"If it's a bomb, then I should be able to quickly disarm it with my ability, right? No biggie." The Level 5 Railgun known as Mikoto Misaka shrugs.

"Sissy, I don't think opening this box without a plan is smart." Kuroko warns her roommate and best friend. "We don't know if it's a bomb or a just harmless prank."

"You gotta a better idea, Kuroko?" She asks. "We don't have much of a choice."

"Well..." The Level 0 speaks up. "I'm curious about what's inside of it. I'd say we go for it."

"Uiharu, Kuroko?" Mikoto asks the Judgement girls.

The two look at each other and nod at her. Getting the go ahead, the Railgun carefully opens it up and expects to find a bomb or a prank full of bugs inside. Except that there's neither of them. Instead, It's filled with a stack of a few DVDs, comics, novels, and a complete encyclopedia.

"Well, I guess we're wrong for either of them. But what's with the collection merchandise?" Kuroko sighs in relief.

"Look, there's another note inside." Uiharu points inside to which Ruiko picks it up and reads it aloud.

'Greetings! If you're reading this, then allow me to introduce myself. I'm Tython (not my real name, obviously) and I come from a different Earth in the multiverse, so let me get this off my chest.

First off, you're wondering how I know you four. Well, it's kinda complicated and a bit of an invasion of privacy from a certain point of view, but let's just say that you four are famous where I'm from alongside a certain spikey haired boy, a silver haired nun, and the strongest Esper in Academy City. But that's not what I'm here to talk about.

The reason why I sent this package is because it contains something you'll find very interesting. Are you familiar with the Lego brand? If so, then you're gonna love what you'll find inside. Inside contains a few DVDs, novels, comics, and an official encyclopedia of the complete lore of a very popular Lego franchise from the early 2000s. Really wish I could watch you react to it and give out your honest opinions, but I'm too busy with Team RWBY playing a popular video game franchise.

I'll pop in from time to time via four communication tablets inside the package I left for you. Ask a question or call me without direct contact and I'll reply back to you.

Have fun!'

The girls have finished reading the note and are in disbelief. They have just received a package from someone who lives on an entirely different Earth, claiming that the multiverse is real.

"Wow!" Ruiko exclaims excitedly. "I can't believe we just got a package from someone who lives in a different universe that's almost similar to ours."

"Another universe?" Kuroko questions, unconvinced. "Please. The multiverse theory is just something that, not even the greatest minds in Academy City, have yet and may never prove. Surely you can't easily believe what that note says."

"Only one way to find out." She shrugs before pulling the stuff out of the box.

"Lego." Mikoto ponders at the name of the brand. "Oh yeah! I use to play with those when I was a kid before coming to Academy City."

"Me too!" Uiharu says with excitement as she pulls out her laptop for additional information and types it up. "Lego is so popular that it inspired many to build huge sets base off of real life weapons, places, and even vehicles that drive using actual Lego pieces as car parts! It's really awesome!"

"How can a toyline meant for kids be THAT popular?" Kuroko wonders, not have growing up with Lego from her early childhood.

"It's not just for kids, Shirai." Ruiko explains as she pulls out the last of the box's contents. "There are sets that range from teens like us to even adults."

Ruiko takes a look at the name of the Lego brand.

"BIONICLE." She reads aloud. "I don't think I've heard of it before."

"BIONICLE?" Uiharu wonders. "Let me quickly look it up on my laptop."

She types on the name and gets a brief description of what the franchise is but not what it's about since they would want to see it first and not be spoiled.

"It says here that it's an original series by Lego with a storyline to promote its sets. The name "BIONICLE" is short forBiological Chronicle." The flower headed girl reads aloud.

"Biological Chronicle?" Mikoto repeats the words.

"Okay, now that's how you make a badass title for a franchise." The Level 0 comments, excited. "When exactly did it came out? And why haven't we heard of something like this before?"

"That's because BIONICLE began way back in 2001. A little over 20 years ago." Uiharu explains as she reads through the description on a search engine page. "It grew so popular that it's legendary for it's vast lore and surprisingly well-written storyline for a Lego franchise that use to exist years before our time."

"Seriously?!" Mikoto exclaims in disbelief. "Even more popular than Ninjago?! People really must love BIONICLE, then."

"Well, see, that's the thing." Uiharu explains further. "Very few remember it anymore."

"What do you mean, Uiharu?" The Teleporter asks.

"Yeah, Uiharu." Ruiko agrees. "It's Lego we're talking about. How can people not remember it?"

"Well, it has to do with how long it went on." Her best friend says as she continues to read aloud. "In 2009, the latest sets were being poorly sold due to its backlash of certain pieces breaking so easily and that a new generation of children barely have any interest in the franchise and its storyline that became too confusing and complexed to keep up with as the years progressed. Sadly, BIONICLE reached its cancellation in early 2010 with its final six sets concluding the overall storyline's 9-year run in the first ten years of its existence."

"That's really rough, even for the writers of the franchise." Mikoto comments.

"That's it?" Ruiko says, disappointed. "Sounds stupid for them to end it like that."

"They did try to continue the story with online web serials for a few years, but that got cancelled, too, leaving the rest of the serials unfinished." She concludes. "In 2015, they made a reboot and released sets for it. Unfortunately, it only lasted a year and got cancelled as well due to lack of story, lore, and character development since the reboot known as Generation 2 - or G2 - was aimed only for kids. While Generation 1 - or G1, aka the original storyline - was originally aimed to kids, and later on teens and young adults."

"So in other words, G1 is more popular and more interesting than G2." Kuroko deduces, curious about BIONICLE. "Alright then. Looks like this has got my undying attention."

"More than trying to fullfil your perverted desires toward me, Kuroko?" Mikoto deadpans. "At least now I don't have to worry about it anymore."

"Oh, but you DO have my undying attention as well, Sissy!" Kuroko chuckles creepily as she tries to kiss her. "I'll never cast you aside for some toyline!"

Her sexual assault on Mikoto annoyed her so much that she ends up electrocuting her, leaving the perverted Teleporter all charred up.

"U-Um, why don't we get started on setting everything up and see what this is all about?" Ruiko awkwardly suggests.

"Y-Yeah." Uiharu agrees. "The more the merrier."

A few minutes later, everyone is ready to watch the first DVD with a handful of snacks in their hands.

"Alright, guys." The Level 0 begins. "Everyone ready?"

Her friends nod.

"Then let's get started!" She grins excitedly as she inserts the disc in the DVD player and turns on the small HD TV screen.
