A lookout from a watchtower gazed at the relatively peaceful countryside. He was in the capital city of Taras Nabad. He sat down on his chair while wielding his experimental weapon, the Ballista. He peered towards the ground and saw massive concentrations of Night Sentinels receiving basic training with new experimental weapons made out of Argent Energy. The foot soldiers were given Argent-tipped spears meanwhile high-ranking commanders were given the Crucible Blade; a weapon capable of slicing through any demon. Archers and crossbowmen were given the Ballista. These new weapons gave hope to the Argenta people, but they were in very limited supply. Most of the soldiers still used old steel spears. The lookout then reclined into his chair and took off his helmet. He grabbed the water jug and drank some. He then looked behind and saw the other guard climbing back up into the watchtower.

"Telorum held out for three weeks," The guard stated.

"But I think it was the Outlander that drove the demon hoards to hell. As soon as the Outlander left the city for advanced training with the Crucible, the demons attacked once again and this time, it fell."

"When did the demons invade?"

"About six or seven weeks ago. They are marching on Taras Nabad as we speak."

The general situation in the city of Taras Nabad was one of mass panic. The civilian population left en masse. There were mass riots, looting and instability. The few civilians that stayed behind helped the war effort in any means possible, by donating to King Novik and the High Priests or even joining the legions of soldiers. The city of Taras Nabad had been turned into a fortress. The walls were hastily thickened, and barricades were erected everywhere. King Novik had committed ten thousand Night Sentinels in the defence of Taras Nabad, but most were beyond the city's walls. Only about a thousand Night Sentinels were inside the city. The demon invaders overwhelmed the defenders almost 20:1. However, King Novik had two aces. He had all available reserves deployed to Taras Nabad which added another thirty thousand soldiers -the reserves would arrive in a few days- and his second ace was the new Argent weapons, but they were scarce and only the elite and seasoned veterans had top priority getting the new weapons. King Novik desperately needed more time, and thus in his darkest hour, he recalled the Outlander from Telorum to Taras Nabad to receive special training from Commander Valen himself.

The moonlit the night sky. The lookout and his partner watched something slowly but steadily creep towards the city. It looked like a giant shadow of people, most likely the demon onslaught. The lookout slowly reached for his Ballista in anticipation for the upcoming battle. He only had five or six shots worth of ammo, so he had to pick his shots wisely. He did have the standard-issue crossbow, but it was worthless against the upper echelons of demons. His partner meanwhile only had the crossbow. He looked at the shadows again but his time he could clearly see them. The demons had arrived, and they gave out a loud war cry.

"Light the bonfire!"

The partner quickly ignited the bonfire on top of the watchtower which signified that an enemy is coming. Alarms started to ring across the city and the Night Sentinel defenders ran towards their defensive positions.

"Looks like the bulk of the army got destroyed. Their sacrifice will not be vain."

The fast-moving imps were the brunt of the wave. But they were quickly cut down from the arrow fire. Dozens of Night Sentinel rangers were placed along the castle walls and their arrows cut down the lower life forms of demons with ease. However, the sheer number of imps managed to dent the defences. Their deadly fireballs took out the rangers in droves and collapsed some of the wall. However, the situation was manageable until the hell knights were thrown into the battle. The rangers couldn't dent the wave of hell knights but the Ballistae (Plural) proved effective against the stronger demons. The lookout didn't dare to fire against the hell knights, he was scared that bigger demons would show up and they would be defenceless against it because they expended all their ammo.

"Hey, Gremory! You still have ammo for the Ballista, right?" His partner asked while firing.

"Yes, I do!" The lookout or Gremory responded.

"You might want to save it for those things!" His partner stated.

Gremory looked out and saw a massive creature. It was red and a giant. It has two grotesque horns like a goat. The massive creature was known as a Baron of Hell, one of the strongest demons in hell. The Baron of Hell then turned its attention to Gremory's lookout tower. It walked and then accelerated to a sprinting pace. Any person with a functioning brain would know what is about to happen.

"Oh shit," Gremory quietly muttered.

Too late for the pair to quickly jump off the tower. The Barron of Hell smashed into the tower. It collapsed and the two men were thrown off and they crashed into the ground. The massive hole in the wall made the demons shift their attention and they started to pour their numbers into the breach. Gremory slowly stood up. His vision was blurry, and his ears were ringing. He stumbled into a fall before regaining his senses. He looked around and saw the demon hoards were already moving on towards the King's Palace. He deduced that it had to be a bad situation for the Sentinel defenders to retreat into the King's Palace. Gremory carefully started to walk over to the blood arena to rejoin the main force. The distance chaos of battle could be heard but it was relatively peaceful. He kept walking until he saw the body of his partner. Gremory quickly ran over and took his helmet off. His face had blood smeared across it. There was a large gash on the side of the forehead that looked like that was the killing blow. Gremory took his helmet off and his red hair dangled down in his face. He pushed it back and closed his partner's dead eyes.

"Your sacrifice will not be in vain." Gremory said.

Gremory then put his helmet back on and walked towards the King's Palace, where the battle was reaching its breaking point.

The remaining Night Sentinels retreated into the King's Palace to commit their final last stand. The demon hoards were close by and chased the Night Sentinels into it. Gremory meanwhile was carefully sneaking across the battlefield, like a ghost, trying to regroup with the remaining Night Sentinels. His Ballista would prove helpful for killing stronger demon forms. Gremory moved from building to building, undetected. It helped that every single demon in the city was moving towards the King's Palace. Gremory arrived at the front door but he crouched behind a piece of debris. He saw that the front door was open, and the hordes of demons flooded through it. He needed to find another way into the palace without alerting the demons. Suddenly, he realized that there was a secret entrance that led into the King's Chamber. It was the secret escape tunnel, but it was mainly used for transporting officials that would rather be hidden from the public. Thus, Gremory made his way towards it. About ten minutes later, he arrived at the shed where the tunnel exits. He opened the shed and climbed down into the hatch. The tunnel was illuminated by candles placed on the walls. He walked through the tunnels carefully and then saw an opening. He climbed up the ladder and activated the door.

The hordes of demons entered the King's Palace from the main entrance and overwhelmed most of the defenders. Only the King's Guard remained. They were the royal guards to the sentinel king. They were the most trained, lethal and loyal soldiers the Night Sentinels had, and they had the best equipment. Each King's Guard had a crucible sword and has excellent skill with it. The Night Sentinels were pushed back slowly towards the King's Throne Room. After hours of ferocious and bitter fighting, the palace was almost in the hands of the demons, they only needed to take the throne room and they would be victorious against the Night Sentinels. The remaining King's Guards retreated and barricaded themselves into the Throne Room. There were only twelve men and King Novik to fight against the demon hordes. Each man readied their crucible swords as the door almost broke.

"LET THIS BE THE GREATEST LAST STAND HISTORY WILL EVER RECORD!" King Novik rallied.

The men rallied back, and the door gave way. A Barron of Hell broke it down and he was about to charge into the room until multiple Ballista shots hit him from the back. The Barron of Hell roared in pain a Ballista round pierced its skull and went straight through. The carcass fell down and it was Gremory holding his Ballista. However, more roars could be heard and when Gremory turned around, he saw that the bulk of the demon force has come. He quickly rushed towards King Novik and his guards.

"How many shots of Ballista left?"

"About five," Gremory replied.

"See you in Valhalla, everyone!"

Both sides suddenly gave a war cry and charged but as soon as they started running loud badass music blasted across the city and they heard someone shout.

"RIP AND TEAR!"

Samur, chancellor to the Mother God, analyzed and witnessed Doomguy's unrelenting will and his incorruptible soul. He knew that Doomguy was the perfect candidate for his divinity machine. His sheer strength, willpower and brutality surpassed every Night Sentinel in existence, including King Novik. And his rage is beyond critical despair, making his soul incorruptible. Samur took his chance and against the wishes of the Khan Maykr, he took Doomguy and gave him a gift. Doomguy was now walking through the Chapel of Purity. It had been abandoned since all available soldiers were ordered to protect the king but that meant that there were no demons here as well. In the centre was this tomb with yellow light and energy flowing through it. On top, there was a giant mainframe of sorts.

"We must move quickly. There are those who would seek to stop this." Samur stated.

Samur then glided past Doomguy towards the control panel.

"I offer you a gift. Take it. It will give you strength… Help you on your journey."

Doomguy then walked forward into the tomb which was now raised allowing him to step in. After stepping in, the machine started to move blocks of something into their position.

"And now they will fear you."

Samur then activated the button and the mainframe closed the tomb. Yellow light flooded the tomb.

"ARRRGGHHHHHHHHHHH," Doomguy grunted in pain.

A bright white light encapsulated the tomb and in response to the pain, Doomguy clutched both of his hands into fists. Suddenly, yellow trails of energy started to circle around his body. The power surge intensified and Doomguy grunted louder. Until for another ten seconds, it finally stopped. Doomguy fell back into the tomb and it opened. Samur was floating next to the control panel and he was pleased with the result. Doomguy slowly climbed out of the tomb and looked around. He felt much stronger than before and body had grown significantly. Most importantly, he has now infinite stamina and strength from his infinite rage.

"Here I have an upgrade for you now," Samur spoke.

Samur then glided towards a locker, hidden in the wall. Samur opened it and its contents were a pair of gladiator armour (In Doom Eternal, the Sentinel armour) and a Crucible sword. He took off his Classic armour wore the new Sentinel armour and he grabbed the Crucible sword and then ignited it. The legend of Doomguy has ended but The Slayer's time, has just begun (cue the Doom Soundtrack)

The Slayer opened the doors to the outside and saw the mother-of-all demons. A titan known as The Dreadnought. It was the leader and the spearhead of the demon attack on Taras Nabad. However, it was still relatively far away from the King's Palace, so this bought The Slayer some time for him. The Chapel of Purity was some distance to the palace so The Slayer would have to clear the streets swarming with demons. As he walked forwards, he was interrupted by a group of Hell Knights and Mancubi. The Slayer charged straight forward and so did the demons. As the first Hell Knight came, The Slayer sliced through the torso and then decapitated the falling corpse. The second and third Hell Knight was cut down in a similar way. The fourth and last Hell Knight charged The Slayer, but it was killed when The Slayer punches its face, causing him to flinch back and then he proceeded to tear off its head. He grabbed hold of the head and the neck and ripped it off like if it was tissue paper. He then turned his attention towards the Mancubi. The Slayer ran towards the first Mancubus and used his Crucible to cut it in half, killing it. The second Mancubus then used its arm cannons to try and land a hit on The Slayer but instead, The Slayer overpowered it and used an arm cannon to blow off the head of the Mancubus. Lastly, The Slayer ran towards the last Mancubus and punched it in the chest, revealing its heart. Then The Slayer ripped the heart out and shoved it in its mouth. The Slayer then jumped back and the Mancubus exploded. The Slayer jogged over to a corner which was next to the main door of the Palace. It was swarming with demons. Thus, The Slayer walked out in the open and this attracted every demon within the city. He equipped his rocket launcher because the enemies were close together. He fired at the charging demons and they were wiped out. Another wave emerged from inside the Palace. The Slayer tried to fire his rocket launcher, but he realised he was out of ammo. Thus, he switched to his personal favourite weapon -besides the BFG- the Super Shotgun. He immediately closed the main door to prevent any more demons from entering the palace. The Super Shotgun tore through the lines of demons. As he pushed the demons inside, a Hell Knight tried to flank and kill The Slayer from behind. The Hell Knight swiped at The Slayer knocking him forward. He turned around and shot him in the face and strafed to the right before reloading again and shooting him again. It stumbled in pain and this gave The Slayer the chance to execute a glory kill. Upon killing it, it dropped some shotgun shells. Two pinkies emerged from the door to the main hall. They charged towards The Slayer, but he jumped into the air and dodged the attacks. This left the pinky's tail exposed and he dispatched the two demons with ease. After fighting through waves and waves of demons, he finally arrived at the corridor to the Throne Room where he saw the bulk of the demon force advancing towards King Novik. The Slayer then activated his crucible and started to charge at the demons while shouting his war cry.

"RIP AND TEAR!"

The demons then focused on The Slayer and charged at him. As the imps and other fast-moving demons closed the distance between them and The Slayer, he cut through every single demon methodically using the Crucible. The demons were getting slaughtered by the second and thus King Novik and his Guards started to charge into the demon horde creating a pincer and slowly squeezing the horde. However, some guards including Gremory stopped and witnessed the brutality of The Slayer. A Baron of Hell charged towards The Slayer but instead using his sword, he dodged the attack and followed up by landing a powerful punch in the demon's face. After he finished it off by pulling off one of his horns and bashing it into the face of the demon. He moved on and saw two more pinkies charge him. He dodged both of their attacks and quickly ran over to the first pinky. He grabbed and tore off a tooth before slitting the throat of the pinky. It screamed in pain before dying. He moved on to the second pinky where this time he stabbed it in the eye repeatedly with its tooth. More and more demons charged towards The Slayer but was either brutally killed with his fists of his Crucible. After killing every demon, he approached the guards and King Novik and kneeled down to show respect. Then he stood up before shouting his now iconic war cry.

"RIP AND TEAR!"

000

The Slayer, King Novik and the remaining soldiers walked outside. As they walked through the blood-soaked floor. Upon dying, the demon's body will burn due to the life essence escaping, thus only leaving the blood. As they arrived at the main door to the outside. The Slayer kicked it open to reveal daybreak and The Dreadnought. The Dreadnought towered over everything. Its immense strength and height made everyone fearful. As it walked towards the last remaining Night Sentinels in the city, it crushed buildings and other structures in its path of destruction. Each step the titan took, deep vibrations could be felt from the ground and the roar of the beast echoed throughout the city and the surrounding area. The defenders ran towards the city square, cutting down demons on their way.

"We're doomed!"

"How are we supposed to kill something that tall!"

However, worse news for the Night Sentinels was that another fresh wave of demons encircled the defenders trapping them in the centre of the city square. However, the demons didn't attack but closed the distance between to the defenders and the titan walked closer towards them. The titan stopped but its shadow encompassed the entire square. It then looked down and saw the hopeless group and began to stomp the square.

"Oh shit…" was the collective murmur.

The Night Sentinels saw as the foot fell closer until everything faded to black, but they weren't dead yet somehow. The Night Sentinels looked around and everything was still black but then they heard grunting. And then, slowly, the foot began to rise slightly.

"Impossible."

"RIP AND TEAR!"

The Slayer caught the foot and held it to save his comrades and friends which shocked everyone. Then he gathered the strength to launch it back, hoping to trip the titan. It worked and the titan stumbled back.

"Outlander!" Gremory cried. "Catch!"

Gremory then threw The Slayer another Crucible sword and then he activated both swords.

"RIP AND TEAR!"

The Slayer ran towards the other leg of the titan. Once he arrived, he climbed on and then began to climb the titan like if he was ice climbing a wall, but the ice was flesh and the ice picks were the swords. He slowly climbed up and each stab with the sword, the titan shouted in pain. Minutes later, he arrived on his right shoulder and balanced himself. The Slayer then summoned the strength to jump incredibly high to his face and then unleashed an almighty punch which blew off a chunk off his jaw and face.

"RAORAGH!" The titan shouted in pain.

The titan then began to stumble backwards from the force of the punch. The Slayer then jumped from the shoulder to the heart where he used his swords to break the fall and to cut a hole in the chest to expose his heart. The Slayer then punched the area and the flesh broke off. He saw the beating heart and jumped towards it. He aimed a Crucible at the heart and as he landed, the Crucible pierced the heart and blue waves could be seen pulsating throughout the body. The titan screamed in agony before it fell to the ground. The Slayer grabbed the other crucible lodged in his chest and rode the falling titan towards the ground. The Dreadnought then fell towards a building where it crashed leaving a giant impact creator. The Doomslayer survived the fall unscathed and climbed on to the head of the titan. He then fired multiple BFG shots to kill the remaining demons within the city.

000

The Doomslayer stood proud and mighty on top of the carcass of The Dreadnought. After all, the Doomslayer overpowered a demon which was as tall as a skyscraper with a single punch. Pretty god-damn strong. He then activated his crucible and the song Cultist Base was blasted across the city of Taras Nabad. (Imagine the final 15 seconds of the launch trailer but replace the mountain of corpses with the titan and the background of Taras Nabad.) King Novik, his guards and Gremory saw the incredible feat by the Doomslayer, knelt and started praying, including King Novik himself. Minutes later, the first group of reserves poured into the city and the fresh Night Sentinels were shocked.

"What the hell happened here?" Asked one of the reverses.

"You do not want to piss off the Outlander?"

The reverses were then mesmerized by the loud music and the sight of The Slayer standing on top of the titan. And they started to kneel.

"From this day forward, you shall be known as the greatest Night Sentinel warrior in History. Great Slayer."

AN: Hello, I'm sorry about the delay again. But I hope you enjoyed this chapter and many thanks for reading my FF. But I have a question: Do you mind if I make the Slayer completely overpowered or should I not. Please, I would like to know your thoughts.
