First of all, I hope you all enjoyed chapter 3 of this fanfic. It didn't take many chapters, but finally, the great love relationship between our protagonists has begun. Chapter 3 is one of my favorite chapters, although there are still many things to come and as I said, I will do my best.

He already assured you that we will have very tender moments between this couple. And although it is true that some lemons could appear, I already warn that it is not my specialty. I won't abuse them like some SubaruXRem fanfics do, like when I read one that looked like it couldn't live without having a lemon every two or three chapters.

Even so, for Re:Zero fans, I recommend it because it is at least entertaining. It's called "Please Understand Me"

With the sun rising over the horizon, the Roswaal mansion was bathed in radiant light and awakened all of its residents. Another morning that started and anyone could wake up in any way, but the problem falls when others do it for you and not in the most delicate way.

Subaru: EHHH ? ! MY PRO-

This was how a poor Subaru woke up the next morning after the busy day he had. Soggy. It took the boy a few seconds to realize he was awake and, more importantly, he was soaking wet. The abrupt way in which he was brought out of his dreams left him stunned for a few moments until a voice brought him out of that state.

?: I don't know what you were going to say, but I don't care. I think we should question your loyalty to the job more, Barusu.

That way of criticizing him could be done by anyone, some better than others, but there was only one person he knew very well who always called him by that name. It almost seemed used as an insult.

As he turned his head to the left, he noticed the person who was heading towards him. And he didn't seem very happy to see him, as usual.

With pink hair and eyes and wearing the distinctive maid outfit of the Roswaal mansion, the beautiful woman next to her bed was Ram. Some people will say that she is identical to her little sister, but that is only true if we talk about his appearance. Her personality was very different from her sister's: cold, serious and a specialist in mocking and belittling Subaru.

And looking at his entire body, Subaru noticed that in his right hand he carried a bucket. Even a child would realize what had just happened.

Subaru: Seriously, you woke me up by throwing a bucket of water at me?! ... I mean, I know you always wake me up but you never have done it like this before.

Ram: I've knocked on the door a few times, you didn't answer. I tried to shake you a few times, but you still wouldn't wake up. So this has been the most effective solution, Barusu. Although recognizing that I always have to wake you up and not being able to do it on your own ... it doesn't seem that you have any pinch of pride.

Subaru: I know, I know. But the cube thing seemed excessive to me.

Subaru, annoyed by the sudden awakening he had, got out of bed and badly received the towel Ram gave him.

Ram: Well, in case you don't remember, you had to work with the purpose of leaving the presentable mansion for Rem's arrival ... However, Roswaal-sama has told me that he wants to reward you for your amazing efforts.

Ram managed to say all that after grabbing Subaru's wet sleeve, as the boy made a shocked face when he realized he had forgotten his duty. Still, Ram was quick enough to stop Subaru, who was about to run to her closet to try to put on her butler suit and try to fix his mistake.

Realizing that Ram was not done yet, Subaru apologized for jumping to conclusions prematurely.

Ram: In case you were wondering, Roswaal-sama has decided to give you a vacation for the next two days. I hope you are satisfied with having received the immense generosity of Roswaal. I have no right to contradict her orders, only abide by them. The same goes for you.

Subaru, hearing the reward Roswaal prepared for him, filled his lungs with air to let out his classic shout "Victory". Still, he felt a little guilty when he saw Ram's envious face. Still holding that face, Ram looked at Subaru up and down and then noticed the bed. After that, she simply turned his back from Subaru as she left the room.

Ram: You and your bed are too wet. Better put your clothes and sheets to dry in the sun to collect them this afternoon. I have nothing more to talk about with you, so I retire. Breakfast will be ready in 5 minutes.

Subaru: Thanks. Although it would be very nice of you to show a little regret for what you have done.

Ram: Well ... I may have felt bad when I threw you a bucket of water to wake you up.

Subaru: Although I don't know very well what I could do today ... Wait ... I think at least, no, I must speak to someone very important. Even if I'm a little nervous. Let's see how everything will turn out …

Subaru couldn't help but blush a little when the first activity of her first day off came to mind.

He had to talk to a very appreciated girl for him.

With Ram's bad awakening, Natsuki Subaru was walking through the hallways of the mansion while drying his hair with the towel Ram gave him. Although he had a more important reason to be walking through those hallways. He was trying to find the silver-haired semi-elf, who lived with Subaru one of the happiest moments for both of them the previous night. After Subaru's confession, Emilia finally received that last push to turn those feelings overshadowed by her insecurity into words that could be expressed and heard. And Subaru ... he really didn't even know what to think.

But those thoughts were stopped when Subaru's gaze locked on the immense front yard of the mansion through one of the windows. Everything was still impeccable, with the green color prevailing wherever you look and the feeling of being able to obtain inner peace just by lying on the grass. But there was something else.

In a small house made of wood and painted white, you could see how it was surrounded by a kind of white glitter. And Subaru knew perfectly that there was only one person in the entire mansion capable of creating such an event. So an inadvertent impulse made Subaru's legs move by themselves and they prepared to go to that little house.

"I may have witnessed it a few times, but it still seemed like a beautiful sight to me. And in the center, the best of everything resides."

Subaru thought that as he crossed that green field until he reached the white house. As predicted, that light show was produced by thousands of flashes from the minor spirits. Minor spirits that were summoned by the girl who was sitting inside the house: Emilia.

Subaru sneaked up on the girl so as not to disturb her, but realizing she was too busy with the spirits, he decided it would be a better idea to wait for her to finish.

With that decided, Subaru carefully stepped inside and sat down in front of Emilia. She had her eyes closed and was smiling placidly, so she was absent from her surroundings and so she didn't notice Subaru's presence.

But, Subaru didn't waste that opportunity. Putting his elbows on his legs and posing his head in his hands, Subaru imitated the same smile as Emilia and began to contemplate that spectacle.

The image of observing the beautiful figure of Emilia, surrounded and illuminated by those white spirits, was undoubtedly an image that would never be erased from Subaru's memory.

Whenever he looked at her like that, giving off that calm and innocence, Subaru asked himself why someone like Emilia had been destined to suffer this hatred towards her. She never hurt anyone, nor did she make fun of anyone, and even then, the treatment she received was unacceptable. Why couldn't people forget the past and stop embittering the lives of other races that were not to blame? That was a question that remained in his head since his discussion with Emilia, but he knew the problems that would come if he expressed his deep thoughts about the topic. He knew how they would treat him and he had no right to think about such things without knowing how much pain the Witch caused. He knew it was wrong, but he couldn't help but feel a little annoyed.

As that annoyance was present in his mind, Subaru noticed how the flashes reduced their intensity and, little by little, they disappeared from that scene. Before long, all the spirits disappeared from the scene leaving Subaru and Emilia alone.

Subaru: Wow, that-

Emilia: AHHHH!

Not a second has passed since Subaru tried to speak to Emilia when she suddenly yelled and jumped up in fright. It took her a few seconds to look around, seeing how the spirits were not at her side and how Subaru was the only one apart from she also saw the result of having screamed so suddenly. For a few moments, Subaru was also shocked. But then he couldn't help but laugh slightly at the sight of Emilia's confused face. Emilia did not seem to react in the same way to what just happened.

Emilia: Oh, Subaru! Don't give me those scares already in the morning. I thought I was going to have a heart attack!

Subaru: Come on, come on... Sorry for scaring you. It was not my intention, I swear. I promise I was just looking for you, suddenly I saw you here talking to the spirits and I had the brilliant idea of waiting for you here.

Subaru apologized with his hands in the air while Emilia approached him with an angry expression at what happened, and more because Subaru laughed.

Still, Emilia accepted that explanation as she dropped a sigh into the air and sat next to Subaru.

Emilia: Okayyyyyy. Normally, you never tend to lie to me, so if your purpose wasn't to scare me, I get it. Although, it makes me a little nervous now that I realize you've been looking at me so closely all along.

Subaru: Ughh, no, damn it! Being seen as a stalker by my own girlfriend is an imaginable pain. Please, Emilia, have mercy and forgive my sins.

Raising his hand to his heart and grimacing, Subaru pretended dramatically upon hearing Emilia's final deductions on what the previous scene would look like from afar. But instead of hearing the giggle from Emilia that he was trying to get, he was a little puzzled to see the half-elf's surprised and flushed face.

Emilia: Girlfriend...

Subaru asked himself why Emilia said that, however, Subaru almost died of embarrassment when he remembered who it was who called her that. Subaru himself.

Subaru: Shit! I-I-I didn't mean it like that w-w-way, Emilia ... Sorry if it bothered you that I ...

Emilia: No, Subaru, it didn't bother me at all. I swear ... I mean, after what happened y-yesterday ... Well, you see ...

With both faces reddened by the situation, no word was able to come out of their mouths, so they couldn't help but look away because of the discomfort of the moment. Emilia did not know how to respond to the new relationship that Subaru sentenced that they had formed and Subaru did not even know why he had said that out loud.

Suddenly, a voice interrupted the scene, but those words did not come through the air. Those words echoed inside their heads, as if they were being spoken to through telepathy.

They tried to find out who was speaking to them, but that search stopped seconds later for two reasons: they already knew who was speaking to them and the interlocutor materialized under their noses.

Floating in midair, a cute and adorable cat materialized, it's fur pink around its cheeks. It's coat was mostly gray with silver at certain points (i.e. the tip of its tail). Her eyebrows were quite small and diamond-shaped. She also wore a gold earring in her left ear. The powerful Great Spirit Puck made an appearance on the scene.

Puck: You two make a very peculiar couple, although after what Emilia told me last night, it was something that I was already waiting for.

Subaru and Emilia: Puck !

Puck: Exactly. The unmatched white cat and Lia's overprotective father. That's me. Been a few days since we talked to each other, right Subaru? I think I didn't have the opportunity to thank you for your impressive efforts.

Subaru: Well yes, it had been a few days since I had seen you and I also appreciated that you gave me your congratulations ... And wait, what did Emilia-tan tell you yesterday?

Subaru really wasn't expecting that the love encounter he had with Emilia would be discovered so quickly. Subaru: What Puck said is true, Emilia-tan. It's just that, for a change, I haven't thought before acting and heading towards you with that title is something that has escaped from me. Maybe I have bothered or surprised you, I apologize again for that error. However...

Before continuing, Subaru moved closer to Emilia and grabbed Emilia's left hand with her left hand, then held her firmly up. Thus, Subaru's sharp eyes stared into Emilia's amethyst eyes. With the girl holding her breath for knowing how Subaru was going to continue, he continued with a gentle smile.

Subaru: What I said before is not something I deeply regret. I-I've never established a romantic relationship with anyone, you know? That is why I swear that I would strive to become the man you wish with all your might to see at the end of the day. Although, after all the feelings we have made for each other, I think there is nothing left to add, hehe …

Emilia fell silent as Subaru agreed with what Puck said. But, Emilia could not disagree with the cat either. Although the feeling of being loved with the same passion and fervor which Subaru showed her was very strange. Really, could she have someone who cared so much about her?

That question was a bit stupid, since Puck had already cared for and protected her for a long time, as if it was her legitimate daughter. But why was that feeling so different with Subaru? Maybe she didn't quite understand it yet, but it was something he really loved.

Emilia: Subaru, I ...

Although he tried to speak to Subaru, at that moment she did not know what to say. Seeing this, Subaru smiled sheepishly and brushed a rebellious lock from her face. With their faces getting closer and a silence reigning in that small house, Subaru and Emilia felt the same spark again that they felt last night. Even ignoring Puck's prying gaze, her lips grew closer and closer.

?: Ah, Emilia-sama and Subaru-sama. I was looking for them.

But, before their lips met, another voice interrupted the scene. But, this time it was not a voice that echoed within their minds. Still, that didn't stop both of them from opening their eyes instantly, pulling apart and turning back with a huge blush marking their faces.

But when they turned around, that blush disappeared and the confusion seized them to see the person who addressed them.

Ahead of them was an adult woman with long, pale golden hair, green eyes. She was slightly taller than Subaru, had a muscular build, and a mouth with sharp fangs. The woman spoke to them in a friendly tone and denoted that she had received a very good education.

Although the sharp teeth troubled Subaru enough.

"I don't know who this girl is, but those sharp teeth stand out too badly on her. She would look a little more adorable if she covered her teeth."

Emilia: Ummm... excuse me, but could you tell me who you are?

?: Oops, excuse my manners. Who starts talking to people who don't know you? What carelessness by my part ...

The woman answered Emilia's question, while an embarrassed smile appeared for having forgotten her presentation. While those words seemed to be directed at herself, she got rid of those thoughts while bowing gently.

?: My name is Frederica Baumann. I was the previous owner who held the position of head of the maids of the Roswaal mansion. It is a pleasure to meet you, Emilia-sama and Subaru-sama.

And finally the identity of that mysterious woman was revealed: Frederica Baumann. Hearing the name, Subaru and Emilia's faces lit up when they remembered that a certain "Frederica" would be the new resident of the Roswaal mansion. With the identity revealed, Subaru and Emilia could breathe easy knowing that they were before someone they could trust.

Subaru: So you are Frederica ... Now that I think about it, Ram once told me that there was a maid who worked alongside them in the past, serving as their teacher. But later she left for personal reasons.

Frederica: Fu, fu ... I see that my legacy has persisted harshly in Ram's mind. That does make me happy.

After hearing the summary story about the former head of the maids, Frederica made a small smile that she covered with her hand. Still, she was very happy to be remembered that way.

Subaru recalled how easily he discovered last night how Ram resorted to the old tactic of using leftovers from previous meals. The comment she made was said in a low voice, but still Emilia could hear Subaru's small comment.

She asked him what he was referring to, but Subaru evaded the question by answering "It is nothing, Emilia-tan. Do not give it importance". With that, Emilia decided to drop the subject and got up to follow Frederica, who was walking and talking friendly with Puck who had just appeared before the maid.

Watching the scene from behind, Subaru stayed still inside the house while watching the others head towards the mansion. Emilia noticed how Subaru was tarnished. So Emilia caught Subaru's attention by calling him from the door, which made Subaru react by jumping from his place and running energetically towards the front door, where Emilia was waiting for him with a beaming smile on her face.

Because while the boy ran towards her, the moments that happened after leaving his room the previous night came back to his mind. That only made him remember one very obvious thing to her.

"I am so lucky to have Subaru by my side…. I swear I will return all the love you have given me. I swear that I will love you until the end of my days, my dear Subaru."

With just the moonlight shining down on the mansion and through the windows, there shouldn't be anyone walking down the hallways of the mansion. But, yes there was.

A silver-haired girl, whose shines when struck by the sheen of the moonlight, was walking silently through the mansion. Her final destination was her usual room, whose space had a much more elaborate decoration compared to the room she just left.

After walking with no intention of disturbing the dreams of the other residents, she finally managed to get to her room. Opening it slowly, her goal was accomplished upon entering her accommodation. When she was sure she was completely alone when she heard the sound of the door closing, she let out a deep sigh, leaned against the door, and slowly dropped to the ground.

With her back against the door, Emilia plunged her hands as scenes that occurred a moments ago were present. She really didn't know how to feel or what to think in those moments. She had a host of mixed feelings and did not know how to deal with them.

Getting up, Emilia sat this time on her soft bed and directed her gaze towards the window, looking out. Absent from the world, it took a few seconds for Emilia to realize how a white flash formed on her shoulder, intensifying further until the sensation of the weight of an object perched on her shoulder warned her of its presence.

Glancing at her shoulder, she met the concerned eyes of her faithful cat and self-proclaimed father, Puck.

Puck: Lia, are you alright? I see you a little sad.

Emilia: No, Puck. Is not that. I was just thinking with a straight face, nothing more. There is nothing to worry about.

Puck: So what's the matter on your mind? Did something bad happen with Subaru?

Emilia: It is not that. On the contrary, I think that today has been one of the best days I have ever lived. Today ... I have been very happy with Subaru, you know?

Wanting to get rid of Puck's worry, Emilia simply smiled at him as she told him that everything was going perfectly. Puck was already aware of Emilia's feelings for Subaru, and still that didn't stop him from being a little unsure of Emilia's actions when she told him that she should confess to Subaru.

Puck: Come on, Lia. At least tell me what happened. In case you never knew, I can materialize and talk to you whenever I want. However, there are times when your living being unconsciously hides things from me and I cannot access them. It is almost as if a mist surrounds your heart and mind, without the possibility from me knowing everything about you.

Emilia: Is it that I can't even have the right to privacy about my own affairs?!

Puck: Don't say it like that, woman. You know that I respect you a lot and I will never invade your privacy. Everyone has a right to that, right?

After hearing that, Emilia could only smile slightly when she saw how Puck was a bit altered when he saw his little sudden anger. Taking off her shoes, Emilia leaned against the wall and reached for her pillow, hugging her tightly and burying her face a little in it.

Emilia: It's just that everything is so strange and new to me. The way Subaru talks to me and the way he behaves towards me makes me feel so comfortable by his side. And then...

As she remembered how she felt with Subaru during the last moments, the release she felt when she was finally able to reveal everything she thought about the boy and that last show of affection that both shared and enjoyed. At the thought of that, Emilia turned to touch her lips as she did in the room of the boy. But now she didn't do it because of confusion, now she did because she loved that touch. An essence that seemed to have been engraved in her mouth.

Emilia: The way Subaru gently took me from the head, how he calmed me down with those relaxing words and how we join our lips together in ... a kiss. And when I asked him if we could do it again, so embarrassing, hehe. The small spark of emotion that I felt when I felt his lips again, how we caressed ourselves in the process, when he gently pushed me and pinned me on the bed. At no time did we stop. With our hands intertwined and with Subaru kissing slowly and passionately, it doesn't surprise me that my heart was beating like crazy. And that emptiness I felt when he parted his lips was like...

Deep in her thoughts, Emilia was rewatching the entire scene in this mind while she was lost in the happiness of love. But she stopped when she saw Puck's totally shocked face, looking at her with wide eyes. Emilia instantly realized how she got carried away and absolutely forgot about Puck.

With her face flushed red, Emilia tried to ignore Puck as she got up and prepared to go to sleep. Following her from behind, Puck chased after her with a mischievous smile and a mocking tone.

Puck: Whoa, whoa, whoa ... I never thought my daughter could be such a pervert. That Subaru really influenced you a lot, or am I wrong?

Emilia: I AM NOT A PERVERT! It's just that, it's just that ... Ummm ... GOOD NIGHT, PUCK! And not a word to Subaru, understood?

Emilia quickly avoided Puck by jumping onto the bed and covering herself with the sheets. You could tell she was very embarrassed to say all those things in front of Puck. It is true that he asked her for the details, but the semi-elf had just carried away by the momentum. Observing Emilia from the end of the bed, Puck concluded that their love talk they were having was over.

Puck just chuckled in the air and knowing that Emilia was still awake, he said his last words to Emilia before disappearing from the room because at that time it was very difficult for him to materialize for a long time

Puck: Lia. I am so happy that you found someone like Subaru. I know he will take good care of you. Maybe even better than what I have done ... I hope that if the day comes when we part, he will replace me and protect you with his whole being.

Emilia: Puck, what are you-?

Although Emilia was a little surprised by Puck's words and tried to ask what they meant, it didn't help. Puck was no longer there. The spirit finally went to sleep.

Emila, internally, thanked Puck's words and began to fall prey to sleep in a short time. However, before falling asleep, Natsuki Subaru's face appeared in her mind and that made her fall asleep with a smile and whisper the name of the man she loved.

"My dear Subaru ... I love you ... I really do."

And finally, all the residents of the Roswaal Mansion felt asleep, reigning the absolute silence in the great mansion.
