It was late at night in a gym in Manhattan.

Jack stood in the corner punching the bag. Flashbacks coming back to him.

Crash! I felt myself go flying into a brick wall. A trashcan lid fell onto me from nearby hitting his leg and clattering down on the pavement. Get up, I told myself, Don't show them any weakness. As I was struggling to my feet, the guy smirked.

"You just don't know when to give up do you."

I gasped for breath, "I can do this all day." before charging him again.

One year later

"Come on kid." I whispered, "Don't let 'em see you."

I climbed onto the roof of the carriage, Roosevelts carriage. Quickly glancing towards the jail, making sure nobody had seen us, I turned around and pulled my little brother onto the roof. We laid down on top of the carriage, just waiting for it to move. Finally, it did. We were free.

A couple of months later

I ran as fast as I could to catch up to the wagon. catching ahold of the side, I pulled myself up. As soon as my feet touched the floor, I turned to pull my brother up, just like had a hundred times before. Once he was on the wagon, he stood up. Suddenly, the wagon hit a bump. My little brother lost his balance and fell back into the wheels. the wheels didn't stop moving.

Two years later

"Sorry, Son."

"Look just give me a chance."

"You'll be eligible on your asthma alone."

"Is there anything you can do."

"I'm doing it. I'm saving your life."

Later that day

"I can give you a chance, only a chance."

"I'll take it"

A couple of weeks later

"Shut it down."

"Kill the reactor. Turn it off. Kill it, Kill the reactor."

"No! Don't! I can do this."

A month or two later

"It's me. It's Jack."

"Jack."

"Yeah, Come on."

About two weeks later

"Crutchie! Hang on. Grab my hand."

"Jack!"

"No!"

A while later

"Give me you coordinates, I'll find you a safe landing site."

"There's not going to be a safe landing. But I can try to force it down."

"I'll get Mayer on the line, he'll know what to do."

"There' not enough time. This thing's moving too fast and it's heading for New York. I gotta put her in the water."

"Please don't do this. We have time. We can work it out."

"Right now I'm in the middle of nowhere. If I wait any longer a lot of people are gonna die. Sarah, this is my choice. Sarah?"

"I'm here."

"I'm gonna need a rain check on that dance."

"Alright. A week, next Saturday. At Jacobi's."

"You got it."

"Eight o'clock on the dot. Don't you dare be late. Understood?"

"You know, I still don't know how to dance."

"I'll show you how. Just be there."

"We'll have the band play somethin' slow. I'd hate to step on your..."

Almost 70 years later

"You've been sleep, Cap. For almost 70 years."

Suddenly Jack took a swing and the bag went flying across the gym, breaking open when it hit the ground.

Jack looked at the bag before picking up another and began to continue as if nothing happened.

Than Darcy walked in.

"Couldn't sleep?"

Jack looked up. "The morning bell ain't rung yet."

"Than you should be out celebrating, seeing the world."

Jack pulled up a chair and sat down staring at the ground.

"I went under, the world was at war, I wake up, they say we won. They didn't say what we lost."

Darcy leaned on a wall. "We've made some mistakes along the way. Some very recently."

Jack looked at him. "You here with a mission, Sir."

"I am."

"Trying to get me back into the world?"

"Trying to save it."

Darcy handed Jack a file on the Tesseract. Jack looked at it.

"The Refuges secret weapon"

"Mayer Jacobs fished that out of the ocean when he was looking for you. He thought what we think, the Tesseract could be the key to unlimited sustainable energy. That's something the world sorely needs." Darcy informed him.

Jack looked at Darcy. "Who took it from you?"

"He's called Loki. He's not from around here. There's a lot we'll have to bring you up to speed on if you're in. The world has gotten even stranger than you already know." Darcy told him.

Jack smirked. "At this point I doubt anything would surprise me."

Darcy walked towards Jack.

"Ten bucks says you're wrong. There's a debriefing package waiting for you back at your penthouse."

Jack walked towards the door.

"Is there anything about the Tesseract we ought to know?" Darcy yelled after him

Jack yelled back "You should of left it in the ocean."
