Alexis Rodgers

Chapter 1

###V##][##V###

This story is a Caskett story. Just not the caskett you are anticipating. A few of you will send hate mail and tell me that I'm a sick sick person. A few more may say they will never read one of my stories ever again. A few will simply say this is not their cup of tea and wait for the next story. While a few more will simply read and say nothing.

It's all good. I write stories. Question - do you read every book that is ever published? No, you read the inside jacket that explains the story and decide if it's worth the money to buy it. Or you have a very favorite author and read every book he or she ever writes. For the record mine is Harry Turtledove. All the stories on this site are free and most are not written by professionals which i am not.

So there will be M rated content from time to time and you will get a warning so you can scroll past all that. It won't affect the story much if you skip it. Your choice. Always was.

So read it, don't read. Scream your bigoted obscenities at me. The story will still be here for everyone to read. Read what you like and don't read what you don't. For everyone else you have my deepest apology for my little rant. There will eventually be another story after this one.

See you all in the funny papers (If you are old enough to remember what those were)

Alexis hadn't seen her father in what felt like weeks. She was attending her classes at Columbia University and was staying in the dorms with her roommate. As roommates go she wasn't so bad. Granted she was also the only roommate she had ever had so who was she to judge?

Then she got an email from her dad explaining that Gina had talked him into doing a number of book signings. He had even sent him his itinerary of where he would be and when.

Truth be told she was happy he was going. Not that she wasn't going to miss him, but his texts of late sort of… They just didn't sound like him. She wasn't sure she could blame it on him ceasing to work with the police for it. Even if at first she was sure that was it. Now though, he just seemed different and she was beginning to worry.

Grams had gotten a part in a really good play and she was getting really terrific reviews so she was happy for her. However, that also meant her dad was basically all alone in the loft. So getting out might be just what he needed.

Right now she had her laptop in her lap of all places. Laptop in a lap, go figure. She was sending her dad an email telling him to try and have some fun. That was it! She knew why her dad sounded like he was moping. He wasn't doing anything stupid like he always did. She was the grown up here and he was the kid.

"Alexis, you coming? We're leaving." A girl popped her head into her room. Vicki to be precise. Alexis kind of liked Vicki. She was her age, a little taller than she was, and her bleach blonde hair was cut really short. She could be fun to be with sometimes. She also loved boys. Well, boys' cocks to be more precise. The way Vicki talked, you'd think that there wasn't a boy in school that she hadn't given a blow job to. Alexis was betting it was all talk, but the talk was sort of boring after a while.

"I'm coming, I'm coming." Alexis pressed send, set aside her laptop after shutting it down, then gathered up her purse. She was actually wearing a dress and heels for this. She had even gotten around to putting on makeup. She still wasn't sure why she had allowed herself to get talked into this but she had. Maybe it was because of her dad, her school work, her classes, something. So there she was, hustling to catch up and get in the same elevator to go down to street level with the others.

"What are you snickering about, Lex?" One of them had caught her grinning.

Alexis had looked everyone over and based on what she saw, which included her by the way, this group was just screaming GIRLS NIGHT OUT! She was also betting that boys would be all over all of them. Offering to buy them drinks then taking them out to their car for a blow job; she was sure Vicki would be doing that all night long. Or sneaking into the restroom for a quickie.

"Nothing." If they didn't see it, it was their loss. Maybe she would have a story to tell later. However, it certainly wasn't going to be one of those stories. She had every intention of watching what she drank and making sure no one put anything in her drink.

In moments they were walking down the street as a group, chatting about basically anything that popped into their heads. Alexis was giggling. Mostly because she had the ability to stand outside and look at this group. They were all dressed to turn heads and cause car accidents.

Kate sighed; she didn't need this. She really didn't. But Lanie was her very best friend and when she had insisted that she come, she had caved in and said yes.

"He's gone, Kate, and I still don't know why you did it but he's gone. So snap out of it and come have some fun. Roz and Ann are meeting us there so it's not like you'll be all alone. Roz and Ann got permission from their boyfriends for this so it's just going to be some harmless fun.

"Unless you want it to be something else," Lanie had grinned at her.

Kate was presently looking in the mirror. Her hair was in big curls falling past her shoulders. She had put on more makeup than she had for the last month. It did give her an excuse to wear her latest dress and her new heels.

She checked to make sure that her badge was securely in place around her upper thigh where it didn't rub and hopefully didn't bulge out too far. She had given short consideration to putting her backup piece in her clutch. But if she set it down and someone snooped… She had just lost possession of a weapon and that would mean lots of paperwork and a dressing down by 1PP. That was something she really didn't need.

Satisfied, she hustled when she heard a knock on her door. Opening it, she saw Lanie, Roz, and Ann standing there and they were all sporting wide smiles.

"Well look at you, Kate. Don't you clean up nice." Roz was impressed.

"We're getting laid tonight!" Ann informed all of them. "Roz and I will by our boyfriends; I don't know about you two."

Kate had to admit that suddenly it felt good to be going out. She was dressed to kill for a change and the others clearly were. Lanie was showing off the girls, as she called them, about as much as she ever had.

"Let's go, ladies. I want to get lucky." Lanie was ready to get this party started. That had all of them laughing a little including Kate.

Lanie had picked the spot which meant they needed taxis for the four of them.

"This is going to be so much fun." Lanie was trying really hard to get Kate into the mood.

Kate rolled her eyes. "If you say so."

"Kate, please, for me? Maybe if I get enough alcohol into you, you can explain why you sent Castle packing. He might have been good for you. God knows he was handsome enough and he was rich." Lanie did have an ulterior motive for this girls night out.

"He was a self-centered, egotistical, jackass is what he was. A 5-year-old in an adult body. All he wanted was to get into my pants and even you know that," Kate argued.

"Who knew how to have fun! Something you don't know how to do. Which is why you agreed to this, because you know it." Okay, so Lanie knew Castle had his faults. Every man did. She also knew why women put up with them.

"I agreed to this because you're still my best friend. And I could use a free drink or two." Maybe this wasn't going to be as bad as she thought it was going to be.

"Good! Just keep that idea at the front of your mind. You. Are. Going. To. Have. Fun." Lanie was going to do her best to make sure that she did, too.

###V##][##V###

The four of them were dropped off outside it and looked at the entrance. "Um, isn't Columbia just like right over there?" Kate queried.

"That's the point. Lots of young, good-looking, college guys filling this place to overflowing." Lanie defended her choice of places to have fun.

Kate's eyebrow moved toward her hairline. "And I haven't been in college in years. So we're cougars tonight?"

"The younger they are the more often they can get it up. Hormones, you know," Lanie countered.

"My boyfriend would kill me if he saw me now." Roz and Ann were about the same age. Both of them were out of college, though not as old as Kate and Lanie were.

"You and me both, girl, you and me both." Ann was sure if her boyfriend found out about just where they were she was going to get it but good.

"Will you two stop! You want to find out if you still have it, right? Just because you have a boyfriend doesn't mean you have to stop living and looking. So don't touch and just look. …Free drinks!" Lanie reminded them.

"Look but don't touch, look but don't touch," Roz repeated over and over.

"Or kiss them because that counts as touching," Ann added. "Okay, fine. Let's have some fun before my boyfriend finds out and kills me." Ann grabbed Roz's arm and walked her toward the front door. Kate followed Lanie, still not sure about this.

###V##][##V###

"WOW!" They had gotten in for free and Vicki saw guys all over the place. She was going to have a busy night tonight.

Alexis went where they all went and looked around. The place was loud, there were lights every place Alexis looked. There were men everywhere. And all of the girls, except their group, had separated out and had a boy tending to their every need.

They walked though this wall of people to look around first before finding suckers willing to buy them drinks. Alexis stopped at the four pool tables that were all busy.

"This way." Alexis got the others' attention and walked over to a table and searched the bumpers. Only one didn't have any money sitting on it so she fished out a five, laid it on the edge, and made sure everyone saw her do it. She and her friends were next.

###V##][##V###

"OH BOY!" Ann and Roz were impressed and with that they were back in college again. If only they knew then what they know now. "We need to find a sucker," Ann grinned and took Roz with her to do just that.

"What did I tell you!" Lanie liked what she saw. Kate had to admit that while it was still early at night, this place was busy. It was mostly guys but she saw a fair number of girls mixed in so it wasn't all bad.

###V##][##V###

Alexis was up to $20 on the pool table to keep making it theirs. It was how the game was played and she still had all of her allowance from her dad so $20 was nothing.

Eventually she and her friends had pool cues in hand and Alexis was racking the balls. A series of Rock, Paper, Scissors worked out who went first and who was on whose team.

It took no time at all for the four of them to have all the attention. Beautiful girls bending over to show off their tits and give everyone a glimpse of their panties made sure they had everyone's attention. It only took one turn each, with Alexis making sure she screwed up to make the game last longer and each of them had at least one boy next to them and they all had a drink.

However, when Alexis had to put her drink down to shoot, she never went back to that drink again. It didn't matter, she had a new one instantly as did the other girls. When one team won, the boys almost fought to put money on the table to keep the girls playing and giving them free views.

Once the second game was done Alexis found herself all alone. The other girls were just plain gone and boys were taking over the table.

"Dance?" Alexis saw a hand with a boy attached to it. "Please?" He seemed nice enough so Alexis put her cue on the table and went out onto the dance floor with him.

The music was fast so they weren't touching and just dancing around. Then suddenly with the guy she was dancing with, there was a hand on her ass. She squealed and turned around quickly so she could slap his hand away, but it and he looked to be gone. Then just like that another hand was on her ass. Only this one was goosing her with a finger between the cracks of her ass. She screamed and turned around. All she really saw was the guy she had been dancing with standing there with a shit-eating grin on his face.

"STOP THAT!" Alexis had had enough of this place already.

"Kate, is that who I think it is?" She looked different and Lanie hadn't seen her in at least a year if not longer.

"It's Alexis." Kate had no trouble making it past the new look she had. She reached under her dress to find her badge and strode right to her, pushing boys out of the way. "POLICE! BACK OFF!" That seemed to work perfectly as far as Kate was concerned.

Alexis was happy to hear that word even if she hadn't heard it or said it for a while. She turned to see who had saved her. "Detective Beckett?" Okay, that wasn't who she was expecting. Still she was so totally flustered and hated where she was that she wrapped her arms around Kate. There was safety here.

Kate was expecting a thank you, not having her hold onto her. "You okay, Alexis?" If there was one person in this building she didn't want to see hurt it was her. Lanie, Ann, and Roz could handle themselves with ease.

"No. Get me out of here, please." This had been a bad idea from the start and now she knew why.

Kate looked around and spotted Lanie almost where she had left her. "Come with me." Kate kept an arm around her and walked toward Lanie.

"You okay, Lex?" Lanie was just as concerned as Kate likely was.

"No." Alexis hated this place.

"We're leaving. See if you can find Ann and Roz and tell them we left. Are you good here?" Lanie was old enough and good enough to be left behind. Especially if she found Ann and Roz.

"I'm good, just go, Kate. Get her out of here." Lanie watched Kate, still with an arm around her and her badge in the other hand, clearing the way to the front door. Lanie looked around for Ann and Roz. This little trip just might have come to an end.

###V##][##V###

Kate had Alexis in a SUBWAY shop with a mini sub and a Coke. She ordered the same thing and sat at a booth not that far away from the club where they had all been.

"Are you okay now?" Kate looked her over. This Alexis was not the Alexis she remembered.

"Yeah, I'm sorry." She hadn't meant to be a bother. Though she was happy it was Kate that had saved her.

"There's nothing to be sorry for. Those boys are the ones that should be sorry. I knew I should have brought my weapon," Kate joked a little and Alexis laughed.

"So what got you into that place?" It wasn't the kind of place she thought Alexis would go to. It just didn't fit how she saw her.

Alexis sighed. "The other girls talked me into it."

"Other girls?" She had been all alone as far as Kate could tell.

"Vicki, Jenn, and Laura. We're all in the same dorm. They talked me into going out with them." Alexis took a sip of her Coke. She was beginning to calm down and having Kate in front of her was helping. A nice friendly face.

"College." Kate got it. Boy, how one year had changed things.

"Columbia. I'm still just not sure what my major is," Alexis admitted. It was one of her problems. She knew a whole lot about a lot of things, but not very much about one single thing. She still wasn't sure just who she wanted to be.

"So what's with the hair?" Kate looked at her hair again and smiled a little. She looked so different.

Alexis smiled and ran her hand through her hair. "I thought it would make me look more grown up. Not like a teenage kid any longer. It took a lot of hair color." Alexis laughed a little at that.

Kate smiled wide. The Alexis she remembered had long, sort of orange hair and she was still a teenager. She had to admit that her short very, very red hair did make her look older. A lot more distinguished. Her own attempt at red hair years ago hadn't turned out the way she had thought it would so now she had her natural hair color.

Since they had something in common Kate decided to ask even if it did bring up a sore subject. "So how is Castle?"

"Dad? He's okay, I think. I haven't actually seen him in weeks. Mostly due to my classes. Now I'm not going to see him for I don't know how many more weeks." She was going to miss him.

"Weeks?" Kate asked.

"Gina talked Dad into doing a lot more book signings. I think she wants to try and keep him in the news, even if he isn't writing anything." That was another problem. One she didn't know how to solve.

"Castle isn't writing?" Granted she hadn't seen a new book from him. She was still really miffed over the first Nikki Heat book. If that was her on the cover, she was naked! It was just one more straw that broke her camel's back.

Alexis shook her head. She was living in the dorms so she wasn't sure, but her dad always changed the subject when she brought it up. So she was pretty sure he wasn't.

"Where is he now?" Kate could take her back to the dorms or take her to the loft, but if Castle wasn't there she couldn't do that.

"He's in Florida. Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, then Tampa. After that he flies to New Orleans, then over to California, and up the coast." She only really knew he was going to be gone a while. She hadn't yet memorized his entire trip.

"Wow." Kate was impressed. "That's a lot of writing his name."

Alexis grinned. "Dad says he has a system to keep from having his hand cramping on him." She didn't know what it was and he hadn't explained. But she hadn't pressed since she didn't care what it was either.

"All that writing his name on women's chests." That was just one of the reasons Castle was gone. Very gone.

"I'm not a big fan of that. But Dad won't listen," Alexis admitted.

"Did he ever?" Kate asked and also didn't mean it the way it sounded. "Sorry." She was criticizing her father and she didn't meant to do that.

"Dad has his moments and he's been really good to me. Most people don't see what I see. He wasn't born rich like lots of them think." Alexis smiled. "I'm still trying to get him to increase my allowance." That had Kate chuckling. Kate was betting she had a healthy allowance.

"All done? Ready to go?" Their sandwiches were gone and both of them were trying to get the last drops from their drinks. "Dorms or somewhere else?" She still knew how to get to the loft.

"Can we go to your place? The girls in the dorm will just tease me if I come back too soon." Too many of them had sex with boys on their brains. And everyone thought only boys obsessed about sex. Thankfully it wasn't all of them in her dorm or even on her floor, but it was enough. Maybe that's why she liked her roommate as much as she did. Her roommate wasn't the prettiest girl on their floor so she didn't obsess about sex or boys.

"Sure." Kate didn't see the harm. It might be fun to have someone new to talk to.
