Power Rangers Dragon Drive

Prologue-The Greatest Threat?

"Hello, master. And Goodbye."

Gosei let out a scream as he was destroyed, the rest of his base in burning rumble as monsters thrashed everything and the speaker of the above words looked down on him in disgust.

"Destroy all traces of this old fool and all he stood for." The figure ordered his army. "Then begin setting up the base."

As his followers did as he ordered, the figure sat atop the rubble of where his former mentor had once sat. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small curricular device; an ancient, cracked and worn Power Coin. He pressed the center of the coin, from which came an image that made him tear up:

Zordon, Rita, Zed, Zela and himself in their ranger gear. All of them were younger, happier than: Zordon and Zela had been in love, Rita was the best fighter in the Galaxy and Zed had held faith in good conquering evil.

Ivan Ooze. The Alliance of Evil. The Machine Empire. So many villains had been sealed, crippled or outright destroyed. Trillions of lives saved, civilians prospered. All had been grand in the universe.

But where there is a power, evil shall always arise. More and more threats reared their heads. For countless months they had continued, hoping that they would end these threats.

Instead, two of his friends became evil, another banished herself to another planet and his beloved brother had sacrificed himself for the dream of ridding the universe of evil...only for the pathetic humans he had protected to create more.

And what had Gosei done when these threats came about?

Nothing.

Demons and Orgs?

Nothing.

Evil Ninja and dinosaurs?

Nothing.

Crime-lords from the future or space?

Nothing.

It wasn't until the empire of Mavro that the fool had bothered to do something. And even then, he only repeated what he had done with him, Zordon, Zela, Rita and Zed...but then dishonored those who had fought the battles he should've by giving his newest team access to their skills and equipment,

Gosei, once the paragon of order and justice in the universe, was not even a 10th of his former self by the time that had happened. Zordon, who Gosei had always been hard on, was far greater a mentor and leader than the ancient bot.

His teammates' name brought something to his mind: Memories. Regrets. Second thoughts.

Zordon and Zela would be disgusted by his actions if they were here. Zed and Rita would be horrified he had come this far. He himself held had held back a century's worth of bile as he began this mission. He still hated some of the acts he had and would be forced to do in the coming days.

He wiped his face clean of tears and once again looked at the hologram.

"I am sorry, brother." He lamented, weary and depressed, but then filled with anger. "But this universe? The Power Rangers? They do not deserve to exist if all they do is create endless conflict."

"My master?"

He turned to see another hooded being on one knee

"We are almost settled. Shall I take up the front and see how this world's Rangers fare?"

Exhausted from what he had done and was thinking, all the leader said was:

"Go ahead."

The monster vanished in a blur and headed towards the nearest city...

Chapter 1: Raging Red pt. 1

Angel Grove Youth Correction Centre

Randy Trueheart walked down the hall to the reception desk. As he did so, the other delinquents steered clear of him: the rougher ones ceasing their actions of fighting as he passed them. The guards smiled at this and motioned him along.

When he had first come here, not one of the delinquents here had given him a look beyond someone to beat up. That had ended by his third day and a stint in Solitary. Now, when Randy walked into a room, everyone behaved.

From behind the wall, the guard passed Randy back everything he'd had on him when they had brought him in three weeks ago:

A mostly empty wallet, his keys, a Fitbit, his phone, his backpack with several books inside and small stone with an engraving on it.

Finding everything was in its place, Randy nodded in thanks and then waited for the door to be opened.

Fresh air hit his nose. He could feel it now: Sweet freedom.

"Stay out of trouble?" The guard asked.

Randy nodded and waved as he stepped outside.

"Same to you."

The second the doors closed, cheering and hallelujahs could be heard from inside. He then smirked.

"Glad I made myself known."

A new voice interrupted his small ego-trip.

"Hopefully in a good way."

In Randy's eyes, his older brother Flokki was the pride of their family; handsome, smart, kind-hearted and good in a fight when he had to be. Considering he was a former Guardian before finding his calling in medical work, that was saying something

"You know, most big brothers wouldn't be happy their kid brother was king of juvie. Especially ones who are cops." Randy noted as they broke the hug.

"Medic, not cop. And most big brothers aren't me." Flokki smiled, handing Randy a doughnut and coffee. "Eat and drink up while you can; it'll be just long enough to take you to school."

Randy accepted the breakfast but didn't like the last bit of his brother's sentence.

"I can get to school on my own, you know."

"With not even two bucks to your name and on empty stomach?"

"...Point taken." Randy mused. "Thanks, bro."

"Yeah, I figured you wouldn't mind a lift back. And I can let you off a little early if you want."

After getting into the passenger seat, Randy devoured the sweet pastry before taking a sip of the coffee. He smiled in grace for his brother's kindness as they drove away, his mind then turning to other individuals.

"How mad are they?" Randy asked, glancing out the window.

"They?" Flokki asked. "Which 'they?' Be specific, Randy."

"...Mom and dad."

The older brother didn't hesitate to answer:

"They understand why you did it. Heck, mom was actually bragging about it. And while Dad hasn't said anything out-loud, I think he's proud of you."

"What about the neighbours?" Randy asked.

"Who cares what they think?" Flokki shrugged as he turned a corner. "They agree with your reasons, just not the method you used."

That made Randy's limited hulit almost subside...before two more names came to his mind.

"Kayla and Rayne?"

Flokki's smile softened, happiness clear.

"Glad you asked. You'll be staying with us for a while since mom and dad are out of town."

The boy grew tense; last time he had seen his sister-in-law and niece was right before the incident that landed him in Juvie...

"Relax, Kayla is happy to see you. She's even making your favourite din...Oops, I wasn't supposed to say that!"

Randy chuckled. If his brother had one weakness, it was that he couldn't keep a secret from anyone he loved.

And speaking of love...the teen's mind changed to he youngest member of their family.

"So, how is the little water-work?"

Flokki's smile grew even brighter as they stopped at a traffic light.

"Your niece is starting to crawl faster than a cheetah and no longer puts almost anything in her mouth." Flokki beamed with pride, taking out his phone and showing his brother a picture of a three year old girl

Randy actually paused for a moment

"And Uncle T?"

This time Flokki just smirked

"Why don't you ask him yourself?" When he saw Randy's confused face he elaborated: "He came back to teach science at the school. You'll probably see him at least once a day."

Randy's 'emo' demeanour promptly changed to that of pure joy and excitement

"Honestly, I don't know how Uncle T does it; dojo, pool, science teacher, stunt work for movies." Flokki reminisced. "Oh, almost forgot! Here's some lunch money and Rayne made you this."

He handed Randy a folded up piece of paper covered

"My scribble is rusty." He confessed. "Whats it say?"

"I love Uncle Randy."

The teen smiled and put the drawing into his backpack.

"We're about a block away from school." Flokki updated his brother. "You want to get off here? Or at the door?"

Randy thought for a second.

"May as well drop me off at the door." He mused. "Less chance of me getting into trouble on the way."

Flokki smirked and drove further to the school, where students were already hanging out, waiting for the first bell to ring. The second the police car drove up, many looked on in interest.

"You okay to get back on your own?" Flokki asked. "I'll try to pick you up, but..."

"No prob, bro." Randy smiled as he grabbed his backpack. "Thanks for the ride, have a great one."

As he opened the door, he paused slightly and smiled back.

"Love you, big bro."

Flokki chuckled.

"Love you too, little bro. Have a great one."

Randy then stepped out as the car drove off, smirking when many gasped at the sight of him.

"What I miss?" He asked proudly.

Several students giggled nervously, some whimpered and others gave him his space.

PRDD

From the sides, Lily Rocca observed the newcomer.

She'd heard stories of the younger Trueheart boy. A troublemaker and fighter like no other. Paid most no thought but when he cared about something he was almost like an animal. The polar opposite of his 'famous' brother in almost every way, yet very similar to Dr. Oliver, his uncle, had been in his youth.

He was back after a three week stint in Juvie, altough no one aside from his family was quite sure what had caused said stint.

"Got a crush?"

Her best friend joined her side, a knowing smile on her face.

"Angie, please!" Lily asked.

Angela Grayson-Mitchell was a beautiful blonde girl, the crush of many students. She was aiming to becoming a doctor, and this was reflected in her caring nature and obeservantion skills.

"You hoping he's the new guy your granny mentioned?"

Lily tensed.

"Angie, not in...!"

"Lils, relax." Angela smiled. "Seriously though, I think he'd do good. If even half the stories about him are true."

Lily wasn't sure how to feel about that...and she didn't have time, as she tensed suddenly and vision filled her head:

A monster.

A red ranger.

Two swords clashing.

"Lily?"

She looked over to Angela.

"See anything clear?"

Lily smiled.

"We are getting a Red Dragon Ranger today." She prophecized. "In a fight, sadly..."

Angel smiled.

"Well then, we got nothing to worry about. And from the looks of it...Jet and Matt are in the same boat as you."

The two girls looked over to see two boys looking at Randy, one with a look of interest and another with distrust.

By the end of the day, something big would happen.

Read and Review, would ye kindly?

This is an idea I've had for a while, decided to post it and see if it gains any interest. Originally this was going to be longer, but I just can't find the right words for certain scenes. Besides, I like to think this is enough to get some people interested.

This is indeed part of the same verse as 'Spider of the Rangers' that some of you readers may know and love.

For this story, I will happily take suggestions for monsters, villains and episodes. All that I use will be credited to the ones who suggested them.

Have a good one, keep safe!
