This one goes out to my fellow Karmiro shippers!

I think I've made it clear on previous stories that I believe Hirogo comments should be left off of the story.

On my first Karmiro story, one reviewer confused Megiro with Hirogo, which is alright. To be clear Hirogo is a Hiro and GoGo ship, Megiro is Hiro and Megan.

To be even clearer, I have nothing against Megiro, I just see it as more of a Brotp and I happen to ship his aunt with her dad, so that complicates things. Anyways, ultimately ship what you want as long as it isn't harmful (MAP ships are harmful), and I'll probably accept it, but please don't leave hate on my stories if my ships aren't ones that you agree with.

There are so many lovely people who have interacted with my stories who don't necessarily share the same ships as me, so I know it's well within everyone's ability to not leave hate on a story.

Sorry for the almost rant, honestly I love everyone who leaves nice reviews and all the lurkers who read but don't interact...

I just hope everyone enjoys the story and has a nice day.

"Do you remember this place?" Hiro asked, rubbing the back of his neck as his skin turned pale and clammy.

"Are you stupid?" Karmi laughed without malice, spinning around and grinning from ear to ear, "Of course I remember, this is where we had our first date."

Hiro chuckled a little, "It wasn't a date when it started, was it?" He couldn't help it, he pulled her close, hoping to recreate the magic of their first kiss without all of the awkwardness. Karmi obliged, and the moment stretched on until they needed to breathe.

'"Are we going to watch Tangled again?" Karmi asked with a smirk, and Hiro fell into panic mode, frozen where he stood.

He had planned this down to the letter, so why hadn't he planned the movie? That was their first date, that's what made this secluded little park so significant. They'd watched Tangled together and kissed during the love song. He felt so stupid, forgetting what had brought them together in the first place.

"N-no," Hiro's pale face turned red, "That would've been smart. But I brought a picnic!" Karmi leaned over and kissed his cheek.

"That's perfect, babe." The occasion was their five-year anniversary of officially dating. They'd both graduated and gone off to pursue their dreams away from San Fransokyo together. Their dreams might take them back here eventually, but until then, random park visits like this were few and far between. If it hadn't been their anniversary Hiro suspected she would be suspicious. The only thing making him feel better was the hopeful delusion that she had no idea that ulterior motives he had.

"I wish it was more romantic," he bemoaned, looking around at the fairy lights and the picnic and the rose petals.

"Are you kidding?" Karmi asked, "This is super romantic. I can't think of a better way to spend our anniversary." He had wanted to do something massive, a trip, or a fancy dinner, or fireworks that spelled her name. But dreams cost money and rings cost money so they were rich in ambition and short on cash. Karmi hadn't expected anything lavish. In her opinion, their best dates were small and charming, like their first one and like this one.

Soft music played from a speaker and Hiro offered Karmi his hand, "Care to dance before dinner?" They'd become proficient at dancing from the balls they held in their tiny apartment kitchen, normally neither of them felt embarrassed around each other after being together for so long. They were just so euphorically in love with each other.

"I would love to have this dance, Mr. Hamada." He blushed and grinned and twirled her around the space.

"I am so happy to be here with you," Karmi said before Hiro could once more revert to a nervous teen apologizing for imaginary inadequacies. That took him by surprise and he stalled in the middle of the song, mouth agape.

"Y-you are?"

"Yes, Hiro. I know you," She placed a hand on his chest and Hiro melted away, leaving behind his khakis and a reddish-pink button up while his body ascended to nirvana, "Your mind is always swarming with worries. Darling, we've been together for five years and you still think that you're not enough for me, which is ludicrous. So before you suggest some deficiency that I certainly don't see I want you to know that I'm always happiest right by your side." Hiro's legs felt weak as he took in the sight of his stunning girlfriend in a glittery silver dress that shimmered like stars. He was supposed to do something with his jello legs, sway to the music or get down on bended knee, or… And he was supposed to be saying something, instead of stammering and short-circuiting.

Karmi thought it was adorable that he couldn't get his thoughts together. She knew how much he loved her, he told her every day. She knew why he'd brought her back to San Fransokyo. She knew why he'd brought her back to this park.

"Hiro," she whispered, "I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." That triggered something in his mind and he knelt, fumbling with something in his pocket, the words feeling awkward and inadequate on his tongue.

"Karmi, will you-" He had managed to get the ring box out of his pocket and almost dropped it before he felt her strong arms flung around him.

"Yes, Hiro, a thousand times yes!" He stood and lifted her with him, spinning her around. They both felt like crying and laughing, so they did.

"Will you, will… Marry me?" He laughed, resting his forehead against hers as he held her. She giggled and nodded, kissing all over his face.

"You knew, didn't you?" He guessed through his tears, lowering her to the ground. She looked at him with tears in her eyes as well.

"Oh, Hiro, of course I did. The whole time."

"I kind of messed up the asking part," he blushed.

"And I interrupted you. But it was still perfect, babe. Because it was us." He fumbled once more with the ring box, opening it up and showing her the engagement ring. Squeals sounded out through the entire park as he slipped it on her finger. They stood there, staring at each other, lovestruck, for several silent minutes before either of them remembered the neglected food.

In the end, Karmi was right, stammered or not, the proposal had been practically perfect in every way. And in the end, Hiro remembered that they could just watch Tangled on his phone.
