Aaaand it's finally time! The start of my biggest FanFiction project! The two Sagas that I'll work on will contain stories from diverse games that I combined together to create a certain plot for both main OCs. I'll be starting with the Saga with my OC as the lead character (you can learn more about her by checking her bio in my profile), and then after a few stories I'll be moving on to the other OC's Saga, as both Sagas are parallels and connected to each other. So, get ready to see a bunch of faces, both returning and new, as these two OCs live out their own adventures with their friends! What makes it even more exciting is that these Sagas will take place before the events of Super Smash Bros Ultimate!

Another thing that's different is that these Sagas will feature background music (shortened to BGM)! Just follow the normal bold texts and play the song mentioned in them! I really wanted to add BGMs in order to create more impact into my stories and treat them as if they're movies, and in some cases, have different music playing in a certain moment. Additionally, you'll also find out what game soundtracks I like listening to!

Well, enough talk. Let's begin this project with my own version of a longtime classic, Super Mario 64! It'll feature a few elements from the DS remake as well.

Chapter 1: New Faces, New Adventure!

[BGM: Peach's Castle – Super Mario Odyssey]

It was a bright and sunny morning at Peach's Castle in the Mushroom Kingdom. Inside, Peach was humming to herself as she was writing a letter on her study.

"Ah, there we go!" she smiled once she was done writing, and then a white small bird flew in through the open window, catching Peach's attention. "Please hand this to Mario." she requested while rolling up the letter and hands it to the bird, who held it in its beak, before it took off.

After waving to the bird, Peach looked back at her study to see another letter that she wrote before that other one. "And this one is for Jewel!" she said as she picked it up. "I wonder how Jack and Eira are doing in picking up the vegetables?" she wondered and left.

Arriving at the castle's foyer, Peach looked around and smiled seeing all of her Toad servants walking around and greeting her, to which she greeted them back. She began making her way towards the gardens, as she knew that after going to see Jack and Eira, she had to go to the kitchen next in order to start preparing the food, as well as the cake she mentioned in both her written invitations.

"Princess, we're back!" a female voice called out to Peach as she saw two people coming to her through the door to the gardens carrying each a basket full of turnips and carrots that they just harvested.

These two people were a boy and a girl of the same age, same height, and looked very similar to each other, so they happened to be twin siblings. Their hair and eye color and the color of some of their clothing were also the same, but there were a few parallels.

Starting with the boy, Jack, he had short bowl-shaped white hair unkempt at the back, icy blue eyes, a dark blue t-shirt with the Smash Bros symbol on the center and a snowflake pin on the upper left region of the torso, a white belt with a Master Ball for the buckle, long jeans, and black sneakers.

For the girl, Eira, she had her white bang-less medium hair in a braid laid over her left shoulder, icy blue eyes like her brother, Yoshi Egg earrings, a dark blue spandex crop tank top with a snowflake logo on the center, a white belt with a Poké Ball for the buckle, denim capris, and white sneakers.

"Good job, you two!" Peach exclaimed. "My, these vegetables are looking fresh! I'm so glad they weren't stolen by those pesky Monty Moles!"

"Or that they weren't devoured by those small Wigglers." Jack added as Peach took their baskets.

"Alright, I have one more request for you two." she hands them the invitation she wrote for Jewel. "Do you think you could take this invitation to Jewel? Because I'm going to be busy preparing the food right now."

"Leave it to us!" Eira replied as she took the invitation before Peach left to the kitchen. "Hmm, I wonder where could our cousin be right now? Any ideas, brother?"

"I'm pretty sure she might be at the Smash Mansion right now." Jack said before rolling his eyes playfully. "As always…"

"Hey, she's just very excited about the upcoming fifth Smash Bros tournament, so we can't blame her!"

"Yeah, true." Jack chuckled. "Alright, let's head over there!"

[BGM End]

Jack and Eira exited the castle, both completely unaware of a familiar large figure hiding in the bushes as it turned to look at the castle before laughing evilly. Looks like the Koopa King is up to no good again…

Meanwhile, at the Smash Mansion…

[BGM: Battlefield – Super Smash Bros Ultimate]

"Hiyah!" Young Link yelled, lunging at Sonic with his sword, only for the hedgehog to roll behind him.

"Too slow!" Sonic teased and sweep-kicked Young Link to knock him to the ground.

What was currently happening is that the crown princess of the Pi'illo Kingdom, Princess Jewel Morning, was watching an exhibition match between four of her Team Members: Young Link, Sonic, Yoshi and Kirby, on the Battlefield stage. She specifically requested them to do this sort of match in order to get her pumped up on the upcoming Smash Bros tournament, in which it would be considered the Ultimate one according to Master Hand and Crazy Hand.

But back to the fight, Yoshi and Kirby were locked in combat with each other just like with Young Link locked in with Sonic on the opposite side of the stage. Kirby had managed to inhale Yoshi and gain his Egg Lay ability as he first dodged a tail swing from Yoshi, and then used Egg Lay on him to trap him into an egg before smacking him with a charged Hammer Flip. As Yoshi broke free from the egg while being launched off, he flutter jumped back to the stage and used Yoshi Bomb on Kirby, knocking him back while also losing his copy ability, and then Sonic was suddenly knocked into him due to Young Link slashing him away.

"Ow!" Kirby yelled as he, Sonic and Yoshi saw Young Link shooting some fire arrows at them as they dodged, though Yoshi was hit by a few fire arrows, and then Kirby kicked him away and into the blast zone, so Yoshi was out of the match.

Sonic managed to send Young Link flying out of the stage by doing a Spin Dash at him, but the young Hero of Time managed to get back to the stage with his hookshot, all while Sonic was dodging every kick Kirby was throwing at him. Kirby then floats up and attempts to use Stone at Sonic, only for him to be swept away from that particular spot by Young Link's ledge attack as Kirby came down in his stone form. Then, Young Link took the opportunity of being near Kirby and rolled behind him as the puffball changed back to normal, and once he did, Young Link did a double slash at him, sending him to the blast zone.

Now only Sonic and Young Link remained in the match as Jewel was getting excited, pumping her fists in anticipation. Young Link starts by throwing his boomerang at Sonic who was running towards him, but the hedgehog slid under the boomerang and punched Young Link away from the stage as he proceeded to do a Homing Attack on him, only for Young Link to air dodge it, and then he did a downwards stab to send Sonic plummeting down, but he ends up recovering from that meteor attack.

"Ha! Nice try!" he exclaimed before using Spring Jump to reach the stage's ledge… only to see a bomb coming down straight towards him. "Oh, son of a-!"

*BOOOOM!*

[BGM End]

The bomb explodes right on Sonic's face, sending him straight to the blast zone below.

"YES! I won!" Young Link cheered, as Jewel was clapping her hands excitedly.

Later, the group was standing at the mansion's hallways, talking about the exhibition free-for-all match.

"That was a sensational match, guys!" Jewel beamed.

"Glad you enjoyed it, Jewel." Young Link replied. "Honestly, I wasn't expecting to win this one even after being absent from two past tournaments."

"I'm so happy that Master Hand and Crazy Hand decided to bring everyone back for this one!" Kirby chirped. "That way, we get to see our old friends again!"

"Don't forget the new faces!" Yoshi added.

Jewel nodded. "I just know that this will be the most special Smash Bros tournament ever held in years. I'm definitely excited for it to officially start, but I'm also very excited to see the rest of the newcomers!"

"Yeah, me too!" Sonic exclaimed. "…Though I'm still wondering how did a random Piranha Plant of all things become a fighter all of a sudden."

"Hey, there was always an oddball in every tournament." Jewel stated. "I mean, Jigglypuff, Mr. Game & Watch, ROB, and Duck Hunt were considered the oddballs of their respective debut tournament, and Piranha Plant is no different."

"I guess you're right." Sonic shrugged. "Well, I guess we'll just have to look forward to the next 11 newcomers!"

"Yep, and Master Hand is already working on the invitations for them!"

"Hey, Jewel!" Eira's voice called out as they turned around to see Jack and Eira rushing over to them.

"Oh, you two!" Jewel exclaimed. "It's so nice to see you after so long!"

"Who are they, Jewelie?" Kirby asked.

"They're my cousins, Jack and Eira. They have powers over ice, and they reside at Pallet Town."

"Hello!" Eira waved.

"Nice to meet you." Jack just did a casual nod.

"Oh, so they're from the Pokémon world!" Kirby concluded.

"Yep!" Jewel nodded before she faced the siblings, "So, what brings you here?"

"We have something to give you!" Eira hands Jewel Peach's invitation as she took it and read it out loud:

*Peach's Message plays*

'Dear Jewel:

Please come to the castle. I've baked a cake for you.

Yours truly – Princess Toadstool

Peach

PS: Feel free to bring in as many friends as you want too!'

[BGM: It Began With a Letter – Kingdom Hearts]

"Wow, an invitation from Peach!" Jewel chimed before she faced her team. "What do you guys say? Do you want to come along?"

"Absolutely!" Yoshi replied, licking his lips.

"I'm in too!" Kirby added.

"Sure, why not?" Sonic smiled. "I could go for a snack right now after this battle."

"That'll definitely restore our lost energy." Young Link nodded.

"Great! Then we'll head out right away. I hope Peach can wait for us!" Jewel said as everyone else nodded and they took off to the Mushroom Kingdom, not knowing about what exactly happened over there.

[BGM End]

Somewhere else…

[BGM: Solitary Place – Touhou: Immaterial and Missing Power]

"Mmph…" an unknown person grunted as Cloud walked up to him.

"Is something the matter?" Cloud asked.

"I'm getting a feeling… that she might be in danger again."

"She… Oh, you mean your cousin?"

"Yes… And I think she's at the Mushroom Kingdom." the person turned to face Cloud. "Cloud… I want you to go on ahead first."

"And what about you? Aren't you worried about her?"

"I am, but I'm afraid that I have to go help out Marcus with his work."

"Alright, then…" Cloud proceeded to leave, as Link and Pikachu watched and heard all this while peeking from behind a wall.

"Do you think we should head out there too, Link?" Pikachu asked.

"We should." Link replied. "But let me pack all the stuff I need first and then we'll head out together." Pikachu nodded in response.

[BGM End]

At Peach's Castle's courtyard…

[BGM: Opening – Super Mario 64]

In the skies above, a Lakitu appears and circles around the castle before zooming down under two bridges. A Warp Pipe appears below the hill, where Jewel and her friends jump out of it before it sunk back into the ground.

[BGM End]

"Here we are!" Eira announced cheerfully as they all looked around.

"Good ol' Mushroom Kingdom!" Sonic exclaimed.

"It sure has been a while since I last came here for a visit." Young Link said. "Glad it hasn't changed."

"Alright, let's head into the castle!" Kirby exclaimed.

"Hmmm, hold up." Jewel spoke up, as she had an uneasy look on her face. "Something's not quite right here… It's so quiet…"

"Oh, I'm sure it's nothing." Jack dismissed as they proceeded to go up the grassy hill.

"I hope you're right." Jewel said as she followed them. But before they reached the bridge…

"Wait." a voice said as everyone turned around to see Cloud standing there.

"Cloud? What are you doing here?" Jewel asked.

"A friend of mine sent me here. Are you all going into the castle too?"

"Yeah… Why?"

"The moment I arrived, some strange yellow guy wearing glasses and flying on a cloud came up to me and told me about what happened around here."

"Yellow guy with glasses and flying on a cloud? Sounds like you've met a Lakitu." Yoshi stated. "What did he say?"

"Well, he said that Mario just got an invitation from Peach, and so he invited his brother and a couple of Jewel's team members to come along. But, shortly after they entered the castle, they haven't returned yet."

Everyone's eyes went wide.

"They haven't returned?" Yoshi asked.

"Apparently not." Cloud shook his head. "So I decided to head to the castle to investigate this cause, until I ran into you."

"I knew there was something wrong…" Jewel thought before she addressed Cloud, "Well, I believe we're all after the same goal, which is going into the castle, so why don't you join up with us, Cloud?"

Cloud pondered for a bit before replying, "That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Alright, I'll join you."

"Great! Now come on, we got a castle to go to!" Jewel said as they crossed the bridge to reach the doors, only to find it locked as it had a lock on the front.

"What? It's locked?" Eira asked. "Last time I and my brother were here, the front doors weren't locked!"

"And I don't think Peach would do something like that, let alone lock the very entrance to her castle." Jack added.

"Yeah, something is definitely wrong here." Young Link stated.

"Welp, I suppose we need to find a key." Sonic said… only for Cloud to forcefully swing open the doors by shoulder-bashing them to damage the lock. "…Or not."

"Let's not waste any more time." Cloud said as they all went into the castle, as a yellow bunny watched from afar.

"So much for stealing this key…" it grumbled as it tossed the key aside and hopped away.

Inside the castle, the group walked in through the entry hallway cautiously while Cloud was gripping onto the handle of his Buster Sword, as if he was ready to take down anything that comes out.

"Stay on your guard, everyone." he advised.

"Somehow, this feels a bit familiar… Like we're experiencing the story of a game I've played…" Jewel thought.

Then, the moment they stepped into the foyer…

*Bowser's Message plays*

"Welcome. No one's home! Now scram – and don't come back! Gwa ha ha!" those gruff words suddenly came, seeming to come from everywhere.

"Who's there?!" Cloud questioned, gripping his sword's handle tightly.

"I've heard that voice somewhere before…" Jack mused.

"Dude, we all know who that was." Sonic rolled his eyes.

*Toad's Message plays*

"Oh! Thank heavens! Help has arrived!" a voice exclaimed, as the group looked to their left to see Toad standing at the corner.

"Toad!" Yoshi exclaimed as they went over. "What is going on in here? Where is everybody?"

"It's horrible! The Princess…and I…and, well, everybody…we're all trapped inside the castle walls."

"What?!" everyone except Jewel flinched.

"Wait… are we actually experiencing the plot of the first Mario game I've played?!" Jewel thought with a mixture of surprise and excitement at the same time.

Toad continued, "Bowser has stolen the castle's Power Stars, and he's using their power to create his own world in the paintings and walls."

"Oh my, that's terrible!" Yoshi frowned.

"Obviously!" Sonic exclaimed. "A plan this maniacal, this cunning… this must be the work of Turtle Breath himself!"

"Well, Bowser's not going to get away with it, not as long as we're around!" Kirby stated.

"So how do we save everyone?" Young Link asked Toad.

"You must recover the Power Stars! As you find them, you can use their power to open the doors that Bowser has sealed." Toad explained and then he pointed at the star door on the far left corner. "Start in the one with the painting of Bob-ombs inside. It's the only room that Bowser hasn't sealed." he faced the group again. "So it's up to you, guys, to save everyone and retrieve the Stars! We all are depending on you!"

"Leave it to us, Toad!" Jewel nodded. "Come on, everyone!"

They all nodded and walked off to the far left door and went in, only to find a small empty room with a large painting depicting three marching Bob-ombs.

"That's it? Just an empty room?" Sonic questioned.

"Seriously, Sonic? Don't you remember what Toad said about paintings such as this one?" Jewel questioned back while walking closer to the painting. "We just do this!" she said and jumped into the painting, much to everyone's shock.

"Whoa!" Eira exclaimed. "Did you see that?!"

"Huh… Enchanted paintings. That's new." Cloud remarked as they all went into the painting as well.

And so begins the grandest of all adventures!

We're already starting off strong with two new OCs of mine, the twin siblings Jack and Eira! They're my Pokémon OCs and they're Jewel and Melissa's cousins (Jewel's mother had two sisters, one of them being Jack and Eira's mother and the other being Rosalina). Jack and Eira possess ice powers and they used to be part of a villainous team in Kanto, Team Frost, with their mother as the team's leader. However, she died in a car accident, and thus Team Frost has been disbanded. After moving on from the lost of their mother, Jack and Eira decided to become Pokémon Trainers. Their personalities are different, as Jack is more laid-back while Eira is more energetic.

Hopefully the beginning was good! There's more big surprises, mainly unexpected characters to come! Until next time!

Trivia for this chapter:

1. Some bits of dialogue from some characters (mostly from Jewel) after Peach's letter was read was based of/taken from the Super Mario 64's instruction booklet. This includes the very last text before the chapter's end.

2. Jack Frost and Elsa are the two characters that I used for inspiration to come up with Jack and Eira's appearances respectively.

3. Young Link's finishing move that he did to KO Sonic at the exhibition match is not actually possible to do in Ultimate. However, the previous Smash game featured a custom move for Link's Bomb that is able to meteor smash opponents like what happened in this chapter. That custom move is, fittingly, called Meteor Bomb.
