Tohsaka Rin was nervous. Her boyfriend and girlfriend, Emiya Shirou and Arturia Pendragon were watching her perform an experiment with the Kaleidoscope.

'Stupid Shirou and Saber.' she thought, her hands shaking. Truth be told, it was her own fault. She wanted to impress them with her discoveries and results, and as such brought them to her workshop.

"Rin, are you sure you should be doing the experiment, right now? Your hands are shaking." The auburn-red headed boy pointed out, worried. After all, messing with a True Magic while not, prepared was very very dangerous.

Saber nodded "Yes, Rin. You should calm down first before doing it." while she did not know much about Magecraft, she knew being unprepared was dangerous. Rin took a deep breathe, and her hands stopped shaking.

She waved their concerns off, confidently. "I know, I know. Don't worry I'm fully prepared for this." Saber and Shirou looked skeptical but nodded anyway, fully aware that Rin was the best at Magecraft out of the three. Rin channeled her prana to the magic circle she had drawn. She carefully moderated it as massive amounts of control was needed to control a tear in spacetime.

A tear appeared and Rin's face lit up, her brief moment of distraction however disrupted it's stability and it opened wide. Shocked, they were all sucked in without them being able to react.

HUH

A black tear in space ripped out in a dark alleyway of a city. Three figures dropped out of it including bags, jewels and books. The tear closed as the three people stood up. Shirou looked at Rin deadpan "Rin.", Saber already helping her stand up.

Rin stood up, blushing. Crossing her arms she looked to the side "Hmph, just a minor mistake."

Shirou stood up still deadpan "A minor mistake that dropped us in the middle of an alleyway."

The Tohsaka blushed even more, she pointed at him, hand on her hip and shouted "Yes, it is a minor miscalculation in my part! But at least we should still be in the same dimension."

Shirou sighed, Saber plactating both of them. "Now, you two. We should see where we currently are." they both stopped arguing and nodded. They went out of the alleyway and outside they were in a bustling marketplace, stalls stood at the sides of the street. Food, vegetables, antiques and many more were on display. The clothing was slightly old looking but to their left was a tall looking building.

They all let out a sigh of relief at the familiar sight of a skyscraper, looks like they were still in their own world. Rin regained some of her energy and asked a nearby passerby, "Excuse me, what city are we in?" the woman she asked looked dubious, but answered anyway "We are in Zaban City, you know?" Rin's slightly stiffened but asked more "What country are we in?" The woman looked skeptical "Is this a joke?" Rin sighed and used hypnosis, the woman immediately answered "We are in the Kukan'yu Kingdom."

Rin was sweating, as Shirou and Saber stared at the back of her head. Shakily, she asked another question "Wh-what continent are we in?". The answer was like a bomb to Rin's pride, "We're in the Zakunyu continent."

HEEEHEEE

Rin traded some of the jewels that was in her pouch for some 'Jenny'. She hypnotized the seller into giving her the best prices which gave her about 5 million Jenny. She sulked as they roamed about the open area near the skyscraper, with it being the only familiar sight, Shirou and Saber comforting her that it was okay. They were shocked at first that they were in an entirely different world, no Britain, no Japan nor did any historical figures from their own world exist. Worst of all, the language spoken seemed like Japanese however the alphabet and letters looked like hieroglyphics for them, leading to Rin's further despair and embarrassment.

Guilty, she brought them into a Asian-looking restaurant near the center of the city. For Shirou wanted to taste the food here and Saber was just... Saber. Entering the shop, "Welcome!" the chef hollered as he cooked something on his pan. It looked like the restaurant was pretty full, so Rin asked him willing to splurge some money for now "Excuse me, do you have a back room? "

He looked at them and nodded, "Yes, what would you have?"

Saber immediately answered dutifully, her eyes sparkling "Steak please, for three."

The chef stopped frying the tempura and fully turned towards them "How would you like them?".

Shirou answered as he knew Saber's favorite kind of steak "Grill them over a low flame until cooked."

The chef nodded, pointing at the backend of the restaurant "Sure. Make your way into the backroom."

Shirou and Saber nodded, Rin muttering silently as she sighed "Why don't you have any waiters here..."

They made their way into the backroom and took their seats. Rin frowned at the set up, no windows, nothing that impressive, and something that looked like a clock that didn't work. This looked like a place for dealing with something illegal judging by the lack of furniture except for the table and chairs. She turned towards Shirou and Saber, the former who looked dubious and the latter sharply eyeing the surroundings"Should we leave? Looks like this place doesn't even have good service and this room just radiates suspicion. "

Shirou being the goody two shoes, shook his head "No, we already ordered our food. We shouldn't bother the chef by cancelling it when he could be already cooking if that's even what's happening. Moreover, if this place had something dangerous to people going on we may be able to stop it." As a cook himself he knew how hard it was to cook good food and he may be able to help stop it, if there was something suspicious going on.

Saber nodded "Yes, it would take too much time to find another restaurant given how we are not familiar with the area yet." she reasoned soundly though she just wanted to eat already.

Rin sighed "Fin-." She was interrupted as the sound of an engine revved, and the floor shook. All of them tensed up and their eyes wandered around the roon however no enemy or trap appeared, Rin looked at the 'clock' and saw that it was actually signified what floor they were in 'B 4'. She groaned, what did they get themselves in now? Stupid Shirou and his E-rank luck.

They decided not to break out of the elevator as maybe that would alert them to whoever was they were being led to or start a fight needlessly. The sign hit 'B 100', a bell tinged and the shaking stopped. Rin, Shirou and Saber tensed up, ready to battle if necessary. Rin with her hands near her pouch, Shirou and Saber standing at her front. They were caught off guard by the massive amounts of people staring at them.

Saber did not feel any particular malicious intent in the gazes, they instead looked probing and careful. Rin noticed that they all wore a tag with numbers on them. They stepped out the elevator carefully and a short, bald, light green skinned man dressed in a tuxedo suit approached them. "Hello, please take a number." he cordially smiled at them as he held out a tag,

Rin frowned but took it, Shirou and Saber following. "Thank you." Shirou thanked him.

The green skinned man smiled a little wider and reminded them "Please wear them at your chest at all times." he walked away, disappearing into the crowd.

Rin wore her tag numbered 406, while Shirou's was 407 and Saber's 408. "Hello. I have never seen you here before." A fat brown haired man approached them jovially holding cans of what looked like orange juice in his hands.

Shirou smiled back at him and asked immediately "Hello, where are we?"

The fat man looked surprised "Didn't you know? We are in the Hunter Exam."

Rin, Saber and Shirou tilted their heads, they never heard of hunters that needed to take an exam in an underground tunnel moreover there were a lot of people in here that looked too... diverse to want to be hunters. Rin asked, genuinely confused "Why do you need to take an exam underground if you want to be a hunter?"

The fat man raised his eyebrow and said "It weeds out the weaker and unprepared examinees."

Shirou tilted his head and crossed his arms "I think, we may be confused on what's going on here. But is a hunter some part of a special organization or something?" From his short time being an Enforcer, he learned that there were some Magi who had small groups that called their underlings, a common name like wolves, alphas and ravagers. Which might be the case here.

"You don't know what a Hunter is?" The fat man stared at them dumbstruck.

Rin looked at him crossing her arms, and answered "Of course we know what they are. They hunt animals!"

The fat man recovered and shook his head "No, no. I think you meant the animal hunters not Hunters with a capital H." Shirou nodded, humming.

Rin looked down to the ground, frowning slightly at that. Saber asked seeing that they were deep on their thoughts "Well, can you please explain to us what these 'Hunters' are?" It may be very well their ticket to go back home if it was something like the Clocktower.

"Oh sure, I'm Tonpa by the way. Anyway Hunter is a person hired by the Hunter Association which mainly focuses on bettering the situation of people in any field they can, many people aspire to be Hunters. I am surprised you don't even know of them, they have been around for a long time and are pretty widespread, you know?" Tonpa stuffed his cans of juice back in his pouch as he explained.

Rin lied straight-faced "We are from the countryside. We wanted to know about the large cities so we came to Zaban.. We just wanted to eat some steak when we got here.."

Tonpa let out a sound of realization as he nodded "Ohh. Then you should turn back later, the exam has a large fatality rate. " Rin nodded but came the thought of the Hunters being famous.

If Hunters were famous and many people wanted to join then it must have some benefits... A happy smile came on her face as Shirou and Saber felt shivers on their back when they saw her smile. She asked Tonpa, her voice suddenly becoming more dainty and charming "Excuse me, Tonpa-san~. Why do people want to become a Hunter~?" she tilted her head for good measure.

Tonpa blushed and scratched the back of his head looking sidewards "Well.. Hunters get free access to all public facilities and a free pass to most countries. Moreover, they have a secret website where you can buy most of the information unavailable to the public." he took a whispering tone at that.

They almost turned at that, they needed information the most currently, especially for them to get home. They needed some materials as well, which they didn't know if they even existed here if not they can search for an alternative, for Rin to create the magic circle for them to go back to their own world. Being 'Hunters' and the Perks that can come with it would make their lives easier, and enable them to return home faster. Rin smiled at him like an innocent girl, her voice slowly coming back to normal when she got what she needed "Thank you so much, Tonpa-san."

Saber also smiling at him and bowing primly "Thank you." Shirou thanked him as well.

Tonpa looked embarrassed as he stepped back "You're welcome, the three of you make sure to quit the Exam, okay? You don't need to risk your lives if you don't want to. Bye! " He ran back into the crowd. The three looked at each other and nodded.

They need to become Hunters.
