Hello everyone! Lucia here!

I'm happy to say that I've fallen completely in love with the anime and manga The Seven Deadly Sins/ Nanatsu no Taizai and was inspired to write a fanfiction for this fandom!

Hopefully, you readers will enjoy this fic as I attempt to spin a good enough tale.

Now, without further ado, the Prologue!

An Oath To Our King

Prologue: His Wish

The world was burning.

The king ignored how his side hurt from the injury that was inflicted on him earlier. He shakily got up onto his feet and stumbled towards a glinting object in the dirt.

His bare feet bleed from walking on weapons and broken armor. He struggled to breathe as the essences of blood, skin, and smoke accompanied the air in his every breath. He stepped over bodies of enemies and comrades alike. He passed friends, family, and mentors. But he didn't stop. He didn't mourn. How could he when he had not the leisure nor the time to do such an extravagant thing? It was war.

It was hell.

Arthur was a king, a leader to countless people. They had looked upon the chosen king. He was known as a wise ruler, a friend and a good leader, but never did he think general, warrior, and murderer would be part of his list of labels.

The war had forced him to become those things.

The man forced himself to move his body to his last hope, ignoring everything else, since his comrades sacrifices would be all for nought if he failed. Shaking hands picked up an old, dirt-covered object that was as common as a table or a chair.

A cup.

Arthur rubbed the dirt off of the common object with what was left of his shirt. The beautiful engravings were glowing faintly. Arthur sighed in relief when he saw that the cup was still active. He dedicated his time finding it, and now that it was in his possession, at last, it brought war upon the country that he loved.

It was said that this cup could make miraculous. Even though it brought war, it could still save his beloved country.

It was going to save this world.

This cruel, flawed, bloody, selfish, beautiful world.

Through chapped lips, Arthur said his wish, entrusting everything he loved and hoped to protect in his final words and in this holy cup.

"I wish for the fate to change."
