"Ah, Temari," she turned to see Naruto walking towards her, "Just the girl I was looking for."

She turned back to the counter and tapped on it while she waited for her coffee. "What the hell do you want, Uzumaki?" She rolled her eyes. Naruto lifted his hands in mock surrender.

"Woah, lighten up a little, Temari," he turned to the girl at the counter, "One venti caramel macchiato, please."

Temari glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. "Who would've known that you had such great taste in coffee."

Naruto kneeled down to fix his pants. "Well, I picked up some good covfefe tips." Temari gave a confused look.

"Covfefe?" Naruto nodded. "What the hell is that?"

Naruto chuckled. "It's a meme about the president of America. I learned it when my family took a trip to America two summers ago."

Temari turned and picked up her and Naruto's beverages and thanked the girl. "Leave it to Naruto Uzumaki to know the weirdest vernacular." Naruto rubbed the back of his head.

"Anyway, Temari," he said before taking his seat across from her at a small table, "I've been meaning to ask you something." He took a sip from his coffee.

Temari glanced up from her phone, her fingers still tapping away. "I'm all ears."

"So, I've deduced that you like Shikamaru." He smirked.

Temari's head snapped up. "How'd you know?"

Naruto chuckled slightly. "Temari," he picked up his coffee and held it towards his mouth, "I'm not dumb. I know how to read body language." He finally took a sip from his macchiato. Temari opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. She was dumbfounded.

"Anyway, I learned in my Psychology class that people don't know the value of something until they see someone else having a happy experience with said object, or in our case, people."

Temari narrowed her eyes. "Get on to the point, Naruto." She said with annoyance in her voice.

Naruto sighed and chuckled a bit. "What I'm saying is, what if we fake dated?" He said which earned a confused look from Temari. "Look, if we dated and acted like we were happy, then Shikamaru would realize that you might actually be a good person, even though he should be correct if he thinks otherwise." He smirked, earning him a hard punch on the arm.

Naruto rubbed his arm. "I was only kidding, dattebayo!" He said, making Temari chuckle.

"Naruto I don't see how this would work." She said before taking a sip from her coffee. "Shikamaru's too smart to not realize that we're not really dating." Naruto chuckled. "What's so funny?" She said, getting a bit annoyed.

"You don't know Shikamaru. He's really dumb when it comes to reading people." He said as he started to flick his airpod case.

Temari looked at his hand for a bit. Was she really going to go through with this? She couldn't lie that it sounded decent on paper, but plans like that always turned out bad.

Temari sighed and put her coffee down on the table. "You've got a deal, I guess." She shook his hand, sealing the deal between them.

"Nice, well, everyone's supposed to be meeting up after school at my house, and then we're gonna head to my beach house for summer break. You wanna come? Shikamaru's gonna be there." He smirked and nudged her arm.

Temari rolled her eyes and smacked his arm away with a chuckle. "Sure, I'll come." She sighed a little, "I could use time on the beach." She replied as she put her phone in her pocket.

Naruto looked at her and chuckled a bit. "What's so funny?" She started to wipe her face. "Is there something on my face?"

"No, you look fine…," he smirked, "Temari-chan." Naruto said and started to laugh immediately.

Temari frowned. "Do we really have to use honorifics?" She whined. "They make me sound like a child." Naruto kept laughing.

"We don't have to, but since you don't like it, I'm definitely going to do it." Naruto laughed harder. Temari went to stomp on his foot, but he moved it back quickly. "Hey, hey, chill out. These are the Fearless 1s, they just came out, and I'm not trying to get these dirty." His smile faded.

Temari just rolled her eyes and started to get up to leave. "Whatever, I'll see you later." She went to leave but stopped when she felt a hand hold her arm. "Let me go." She looked at Naruto as he smiled.

"Not until you say something." He closed his eyes in a teasing manner.

"I'm not saying that." She said with a plain tone which made Naruto chuckle.

"Well, I guess you'll just be late to class then." He said as he looked at his watch. "The clock's ticking, Temari-chan." He smirked.

She rolled her eyes. "Fine. Goodbye, Naruto-kun."

Naruto tapped his chin and looked up in the air. "That didn't sound very sincere. Try again."

Temari sighed again and turned to look at him. "Goodbye, Naruto-kun. I love you." She said in a sweet voice.

Naruto blushed and turned away. "Th-that's good enough for me." He released her arm while Temari laughed and walked away.

The last bell of the day rang, and Naruto walked out of the school and into the parking lot. When he walked outside, he saw Temari talking with Sakura, Ino, and Matsuri. He put on a devious smile as he walked up to the four of them.

Naruto came up behind Temari and hugged her from behind. "Are you guys ready for the beach?" He looked down at a blushing Temari.

No one really paid attention to his words because they were focused on what he was doing.

Ino blinked a few times before speaking. "Wait...when did you two become a thing?" Ino said, her hand resting on her hip.

Naruto quickly thought up a lie. "Well, we've been talking for a few months, but then I finally got the courage to ask out Temari-chan, and she said yes." Naruto said which made Temari blush even harder and smile lightly.

Ino brought her hands up to her face and squealed. "Eeeeee! You guys are so cute together." Ino said as she frantically tapped Sakura, her eyes never leaving them. "Aren't they adorable Forehead!?"

Sakura looked at them, but she looked zoned out, as if thinking about something. "Yeah, they're adorable." Sakura reached for her keys in her back pocket. "Hey, Ino, I'll see you at Naruto's house later."

Ino looked at her with a confused expression. "I thought you were gonna come by my house and we were gonna drive together?" She said with a slight concerned tone.

"Something came up." Sakura said as she got into her car. "Oh, and congratulations you two." She said as she proceeded to leave for her house.

The four of them stared at Sakura as she drove away. "That was odd. I've never seen Sakura like that before except for when Sasuke transferred schools." Ino said.

"I didn't expect that to happen." Naruto said, his arms still around Temari.

Ino gave a long sigh. "I guess I should run after her. I'll see you guys at Naruto's house later." She said as everyone waved goodbye.

Once Ino left, Temari pulled herself out of Naruto's embrace and slapped him across the face. He brought his hand up to soothe it, a big red mark adorning his face. "Why the hell would you think that was a good idea?" Temari said in an angry tone which made Naruto chuckle.

"We have to make it believable. If we're gonna fake being a couple, we have to act like a couple. Obviously it worked with Sakura-chan." Naruto said. Temari opened her mouth to say something, but she couldn't. She hated when he made a good point.

"Um...what is going with you guys?" The "couple" looked to see Matsuri standing with her hands on her hips.

Naruto jumped a little upon seeing her. "Oh, Matsuri-chan. I forgot you were there." He said while scratching the back of his neck.

She turned to Temari. "Why did you let him hug you from the back? I thought you liked Shikamaru," she said before turning to Naruto, "And why did you hug her from the back? I thought you liked Sakura-chan?" Matsuri said as she leaned against Temari's car.

Temari sighed before explaining to her what they were doing. "That's not going to end up well." Matsuri said as she closed her eyes and shook her head.

"Why is that?" Temari asked with a concerned face.

Matsuri looked up in the air as she pondered whether or not to tell them. "I'm not gonna tell you." She said as she started to walk to her car.

"Wait," Temari ran and put her hand on her arm to stop her, "Tell me, please." Temari said which made Matsuri chuckle.

"I'll let you figure it out by yourself. Besides, once you do, you'll come to talk about it with me anyways. Think of it as dramatic irony," she pulled her arm away and waved to Naruto, "See you at your house, Naruto." She said as she walked away while Naruto waved back.

Temari looked at the ground as she thought of what Matsuri could mean. "What does she mean by that." She said before turning to Naruto. "You're the Psychology expert, what does she mean?"

Naruto glanced at her as he put his airpods in his ears. "I'm studying Psychology, not fucking telepathy." He said as he started to walk away. "I'll see you at my house, Temari-chan." He said as he waved backwards to her.

"Bye, Naruto-kun." She replied back. 'What could she mean by that?' Temari thought to herself as she got into her car.

Temari couldn't stop thinking about what Matsuri said in the parking lot. Temari wasn't a stupid person, but for some reason she just kept drawing blanks when it came to figuring this thing out. She was currently seated in her car with a pair of shades, flip flops, and her bathing suit underneath some shorts and a tank top.

This would also be the first time she's been to Naruto's house, and to say she was astonished would be an understatement. She knew Naruto had money, but she didn't know that he was this loaded...his house was huge.

She approached the doorbell and rang it, a sweet chime following suit. "Temari-chan, nice to see you could make it." Naruto said as he motioned for her to come in.

Temari looked around and saw that she was the first one. "The first one to arrive, I presume." She said and Naruto nodded.

"It usually takes everyone a long ass time to get ready, but I usually just chill and play some basketball." He said as he walked to the kitchen. "Are you thirsty...hungry?" He said to which Temari shook her head in the negative.

"Hey, Naruto?" She asked.

"Wassup?" He replied back, his eyes still scanning the fridge.

"What if your plan doesn't work," she took a seat at his breakfast bar, a sigh escaping her breath, "what do we do after that?"

Naruto closed the door and turned to look at her. "Well, I guess we go back to being friends," he took a seat next to her, "that's the only logical thing to do."

She turned away from him. "Do you think this'll work? Your plan, I mean."

"To be honest, I didn't even think you'd agree to the plan, let alone even think about what to do if the plan went to shit." He said, taking a sip of his drink. "That's something that only time will tell, Temari-chan."

Ino approached Sakura's house and knocked on the door. The door opened to reveal a saddened Sakura.

"What's wrong with you?" Ino looked at the sad girl in front of her.

Sakura turned away from her and looked down at the ground. "Nothing I'm fine." She took a deep breath. "Why are you here?"

"I'm here because my best friend ran off." She entered her house, scanning the room she's been in multiple times before. "Why'd you do that by the way?"

Sakura kept her eyes on the ground. Her voice was weak and quiet, a clear indication that she was crying. "I'm jealous."

Ino put a hand up and cupped her ear as if to better hear. "Say that again, Sakura."

"I said I'm jealous." Her voice was even quieter now.

Ino looked at her like she was crazy. "You've gotta speak louder, Sakura."

Sakura turned and stared at her. "I'm jealous." She yelled, making Ino jump back.

Ino's never seen Sakura like this over a boy. When they were younger, Sakura was obsessed with Sasuke, but she was never like this over him. The reason being is because Sasuke never really did anything for her, besides being a person that was in her life.

Naruto, on the other hand, was someone who was always with her. He did everything for her, and was there when she needed someone the most. He had feelings for her, but she'd reject him every time he tried. He never stopped loving her, which is probably the reason why she was able to go on with her life. She had the sense that someone loved her, but now she doesn't.

"Naruto has always loved me, and in the back of my mind, I had too. I just couldn't get over Sasuke. I didn't want to put him in a relationship with unrequited love." Her eyes reverted back to the floor.

Ino sighed. "Look, Sakura. You have no reason to be jealous because you brought this upon yourself. You can't not do something, and expect everything to stay the same. If you didn't want Naruto to date someone, then you should've taken him off the market. You're too indecisive." Sakura looked up at her.

"What do I do, Ino." She sniffled as she moved beside Ino and put her head on Ino's shoulder. "He's already got a girlfriend...I've waited too long." A tear rolled down her cheek.

Ino wiped her tears away. "Be honest with him, Sakura. He's loved you since you guys were kids." She turned so that she was looking Sakura in the eyes. "Don't give up on him."

Naruto and Temari were sitting on the couch when they heard the doorbell ring. Naruto took another sip from his drink before setting it down to open the door.

"I thought you guys would never show up." Naruto said as he opened the door to Shikamaru, Choji, Kiba, and Hinata. "Where's Shino?"

"He's going to California for the break and then he's gonna be traveling Europe or some rich shit." Kiba said as he pouted.

Shikamaru rolled his eyes and picked his backpack up off of the ground. "Don't be troublesome like last year, Naruto."

Naruto looked back at Shikamaru as he escorted Choji to his pantry where his "Choji Stash" was located. "Don't try to act like you didn't have fun just because Temari's here." Naruto turned to Temari and winked at her, which he received a mad glare back from Temari.

"I wouldn't call cleaning up vomit from a drunk Naruto fun." Shikamaru said as he took a seat at the bar and swiveled on the stool.

Naruto scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "We could've left that last part out, yeah."

"Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you Temari-chan that we drink a lot when we go to my beach house." Naruto said as he stuffed things into his backpack.

Hinata looked over at Temari and put her hand on her leg. "It's ok if you don't want to drink. I usually don't drink that much."

Temari smiled and put her hand on Hinata's. "Thank you, Hinata." She looked up at Naruto who was struggling to put shoes in a backpack. "I bet I'd outdrink you, Naruto-kun." Temari said, putting on a challenging smirk.

Naruto stopped what he was doing and looked up at Temari. "Are you challenging me?"

"I don't know, am I?" Temari said as she leaned forward on the couch. "Don't tell me you're gonna back out like a pussy."

Naruto couldn't do anything but laugh. "Oh," his face got serious, "I never back down from a drinking challenge. I even challenged Choji to a challenge and won."

"It's true." Choji said with crumbs all over his face and a mouth full of chips.

"Naruto, I don't think this is a good-" Shikamaru tried to intervene, but Naruto interrupted him.

"No, it's fine, Shikamaru." Naruto held his hand out toward Shikamaru and glanced at him, his eyes then returning to Temari. "If she wants to challenge me, then bring it on."

Shikamaru sighed and then put his hands in his pockets. "This is gonna be troublesome."

"We'll have the challenge when our friends from Kumo and Kiri High School get there." Naruto held his hand out toward Temari. "Deal?"

Temari glanced at his hand and then shook it firmly. "Deal."

Temari and Naruto stared at each other for another minute before Naruto broke the silence. "Alright, you guys ready to go?"

Everyone stood up and was heading to the door, but Hinata spoke up. "Wait, guys, where's Sakura and Ino?"

Kiba snapped and made a small gun with his fingers. "I knew we were missing something."

Naruto's eyes widened. "Bro I was thinking the same thing."

Kiba's eyes widened also as he walked towards Naruto. "Bro maybe we're linked telepathically."

"Bro!" They both said in unison as they did a handshake that they came up with.

Temari whispered in Hinata's ear. "Are they always like this?" She asked as she had a disgusted look on her face.

"Yeah, but it's a bit more over the top usually." Hinata said as her and Temari started to chuckle.

It was about an hour of waiting until the doorbell rang. "If that isn't them then we're just gonna leave because I'm tired of waiting." Naruto said as he walked to the door.

The door opened to reveal Ino and Sakura. "Finally you guys made it." Naruto said before closing the door. "We thought you died." Naruto said getting a weird look from Sakura and Ino.

Naruto scratched the back of his head. "Alright, maybe that was just me, but we were all worried." Naruto said which everyone laughed. "But all jokes aside, we're happy you guys could finally make it."

Ino took a long breath in. "Feels good to have a proper welcome." She said, making Naruto chuckle.

As Sakura and Ino walked past Naruto, he put a hand on Sakura's shoulder. "Hey, Sakura, are you feeling okay? You were acting kind of weird in the school parking lot."

Sakura looked at Naruto's hand on her shoulder. His hands were soft and they felt amazing on her exposed skin. "Yeah I'm fine. Thanks for worrying about me though."

"That's what friends are for, y'know?" Naruto said as he smiled.

"Alright guys let's get going!" Naruto yelled as everyone started to get up and leave for the beach house.

Naruto stopped Ino at the entrance of his house. "I'll meet you in the car, Temari-chan." Naruto said as she nodded and walked to the car.

Naruto turned towards Ino. "Seems like you two are really a thing huh?" Ino said as she pointed to him and Temari.

Naruto scratched the back of his head. "I guess you can say that." His face then got serious. "What's the deal with Sakura?"

Ino opened her mouth like she was about to say something, but then she quickly closed it. "Ino?" Naruto looked at her for a few seconds. She was looking up in the air with a carefree attitude and was humming a tune as she shifted back and forth on her toes and heels.

"Whatever you're doing isn't fucking funny." Naruto said, getting a bit angry.

Ino chuckled. "I'm not gonna tell you because I want Sakura to tell you herself. Plus it's not really my business to tell."

Naruto rolled his eyes and gave a small angry groan. "I hate that stupid 'Girl Code' bullshit." Naruto turned and started down the steps. "I'll see you at the beach." He said as he walked toward the car.

Naruto got into the car and started the ignition. "What's wrong babe?" Temari said in a fake concerned tone.

Naruto looked at her and started to chuckle a bit. "I hate you so much."

Temari put her hand on her chest in fake astonishment. "Is that anyway to talk to your loving girlfriend? It's fine because whatever's bothering you, I'll make it all better."

"Fuck off!" Naruto said as they both started to laugh their way down the road.

Naruto could tell that this was going to be the best summer break in his whole life.
