-Utopia, Luke's Room, General POV-
"Our top stories tonight. In light of the startling revelations stemming from yesterday's international arms conference fiasco which world leaders are being asked to step down? Could Sentinel robots pose a threat to humans as well as mutants? And just who and where is Quentin Quire, the young militant mutant responsible for all this unrest?" TV anchor said
"Well at least they stopped talking about me-" Luke was about to say until…
"But first, Cartmen Antonios (OC-New York Knicks Player) made a statement about his injury from a mutant attack-"
Luke threw the remote, destroying the TV.
Laurie walks into Luke's room "Hey, are you alright?" she asks
"Yeah peachy, the world leaders go around beating children, raping and killing, but the news is still talking about yours truly" Luke laughed "Have you looked at twitter? The New York Knicks account is saying 'the crazy mutant should be sent to jail'."
"You should not listen to them," she said
"I know, it's just hard not to listen to them. I think- I think I just need some fresh air." Luke said as he walked out of his room.
-Luke's POV-
I walked out of my room, I didn't feel like talking to anyone.
While I was walking I saw someone unexpected. The pink-haired cunt who started all this.
I approached him "You are Quentin Quire right? Not a shapeshifter or anything?" I asked
"As if a shapeshifter can capture my magnificence," Quentin said "Wait, you are Lucas Long. The bastard who stole my limelight by injuring that basketball player. Seriously, I showed the world the real face of their leaders, and all they want to talk about is an injured man who is mildly good at throwing a ball through a hoop."
"While I agree with you on that," I say as I fire a weak gravitational burst, catching him off-guard and knocking him out in an instant. "You are coming with me,"
-Utopia, Mission Control Room, General POV-
"At least 75% of the Sentinels are defective," Cyclops said
"They are? So they don't work?" Wolverine asked, hopeful
"Some just fell apart when they tried to turn them on, but several have gone haywire and are running amok."
"Who's dealing with those?" Wolverine asked
"Everyone we can afford to send," Cyclops said
"Get me out there, Scott," Wolverine demanded
"Not every Sentinel is defective. I need my A-Team here in reserve, just in case any show up on our doorstep." Cyclops refused
"You don't want me fighting robots? Fine. Then I'm going after Quire" Wolverine said
*ahem* Luke coughed getting them to look at him, and the pink-haired mutant terrorist was floating next to him "Already taken care of,"
Logan walked next to Luke, slapped Quinten awake "C'mere you,"
"AAAH!" Quinten screamed
"Show me how to call Steve Rogers on this thing." Wolverine
"Hold on, Logan," Cyclops said
"I'm ending this. Right now," Wolverine growled
"We are not handing him over," Cyclops said
"We are not?" Luke asked
"He will be tried, but here, by us, not by them," Cyclops said
"You're talking about harboring a global Fugitive." Wolverine all but exclaimed
"I'm talking about a man being tried by a jury of his peers," Cyclops tried to reason
"Well I say he is guilty, Logan says he is guilty, let's just call Captain America[1] and be done with it," Luke said, wanting to end this already.
Only for Emma to dismiss him "Calling Rodger's won't be necessary."
"And why the hell not?" Logan asked while glaring at Cyclops
"Because he's already calling us," she said
Logan grabbed Luke by the shoulder and Quire by the hair and hid them just outside the mission control room.
Emma opened Captain's call "It's a real mess out there. The Avengers are doing all we can to keep these Sentinels under control, but we're stretched thin. If we can just make it through the night, the morning may bring ease in tension. I want you to know I appreciate your people's help with everything, Scott. I know this must be trying but I thank you for keeping a level head," Captain said
"I won't lie, it hasn't been easy, but at the end of the day, we're still committed to doing what we've still committed to doing what we've always done," Cyclops said
"So still no sign of this Quentin Quire fellow who started this whole nonsense?" Captain asked
"No sir, not yet," Cyclops lied
"And I'm assuming you are still protecting that Lucas kid, and not gonna let us bring him in for questioning?"
"Yes… Evangeline already dealt with all the charges," Cyclops said
"*sigh* Just keep me informed then. Rodgers out," Captain said and closed the transmission
Luke flew into the mission "The Avengers want to question me?" Luke exclaimed, "For defending myself?"
"It's more complicated than that." Cyclops tried to explain
"Did not seem that complicated to me. Captain America called and asked if you were going to protect me. Protect me from what exactly? The Avengers? Maybe I should go and teach him that I don't need anyone's protection." Luke said releasing some pressure
"Stand down runt," Wolverine said "You are angry, I get it, but the higher-ups wanted you brought in, and we didn't let them, now… stand down,"
"Fine…" Luke growled and stormed out of the mission control room.
"*sigh* Thanks Log-" Cyclops tried to say but Wolverine cut him off
"Don't thank me, slim! I get why you protect the runt from Rodgers, he didn't do a damn thing wrong. But Quire, really?" Wolverine said as he walked out of the mission control room. "Once this is over you and I are gonna have long chat,"
-Luke's POV-
I stormed out of the mission room, making a mental note to prepare against the heroes in this world. I was being too carefree…
As I was walking towards my room when I heard Idie
"I don't know why they shouldn't have ... these Sentinels. Right? Governments have to protect their people. They need Sentinels to protect their people from people like us. We're dangerous."
"Idie don't say that, never. That's not what Sentinels are for!" Luke said, making himself known to the other Lights (minus Kenji).
"But they are. That's what they said" Idie said
"They lie," was all I said
Laurie *sighs* "The opening of the mutant history museum is tonight. You're coming with me." Laurie said to Idie "You need to understand"
"That's a good idea," Hope said
"Yes for everyone. I was reading about the program online. And it's very progressive. Hope, you should…" Laurie was about to ask
"Sorry. I can't, I'll go later. I'm, er, busy." she said, clearly hiding something
"Gabriel?" Laurie asks the not Speedy Gonzales
"I'm busy too," he said, also clearly hiding something
"Mate?" Teon said what everyone was thinking
"Er… Just the movies, that new Captain America biopic. It looks sick," Gabriel said,
"GRR!" Teon threatens Gabriel
"Don't growl at Gabriel, Teon. He will be a perfect gentleman." She said while cocking her shotgun *chk*chk*
Damn… redheads are crazy.
"Luke, what about you?" Laurie asks
"No thanks, I feel very tired, I think I'll just sleep." I refused, I had no interest in being anywhere near reporters.
"What about Kenji? Has he locked himself in his room again?" Laurie asked
"No. He went to mainland dunno for what." Hope revealed
"Oh isn't he so arty and mysterious! Also, sticky," Gabriel said, getting me to glare at him
Laurie looks at Idie, "Okay just you and me then. This will be educational."
-A Few Hours Later, Luke's Room, General POV-
Luke was sitting on air with a notebook in his hand. A TV was open in the background.
After learning the Avengers wanted to bring him in just so the hire ups could make an example of him, Luke decided he should have a contingency plan for anyone who ever called themselves an Avenger. He had decided to start with a character he disliked, Thunderbolt Ross[2]:
Name: Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross
Alias: Red Hulk, Rulk
Powers: Kinda like Hulk, but gets stronger by absorbing radiation instead of anger. Starts at strength level around Colossus
Abilities: Classic Military General, despite becoming a Gamma-mutate he still uses a handgun
Weakness: Unlike Hulk, he is not nigh-invincible. He is weaker to bladed weapons and sharp objects. Also, a powerful telepath can easily defeat him.
Contingency Plan: While Rulk is powerful, he can't fly. To kill him, keep your distance from him by flying, make sure to maintain a force field, and then hurl sharp objects at him until he bleeds to death. To neutralize, send him flying in a random direction. He won't die, but he won't be coming back anytime soon.
After finishing Rulk's contingency plan Luke looked at the TV. "Breaking news, San Francisco Museum of Mutant History has been attacked by an unknown terrorist group. We do not have-"
"What?! Idie's there, so is Laurie! I need to go" Luke shouted as he flew out of Utopia and towards the museum. By the time he got there, 5 powerful X-Men (Magneto, Iceman[3], Colossus[4], Namor[5], and White Queen) were defeated. Luke then saw that all the Lights were there, and the danger had passed. But unfortunately, Idie had to kill all the terrorists after Laurie accidentally left her behind.
But that begged the question: 'How did a 14-year-old girl kill terrorists that were capable of defeating Iceman and Magnet, two Omega Level Mutants, as well as White Queen, an Omega Level Telepath?'
Soon after Hope and Laurie starts arguing;
"How could you leave her?" Hope screamed at Laurie
"I didn't! Not deliberately anyway! I thought she was following!" Laurie shouted back
"You should have checked! Or you should have gone back! Leave no man behind!"
"I'm not a soldier, Hope," Laurie defended herself
"Yes, you are! You're fine in the field. Tokyo, Berlin, you were the best of us when things went bad in England"
"It's different!"
"No, it's not!"
"It IS different"
"How is it different?"
"Because you weren't there, Hope. Don't you get it we are different unless you are around! We aren't normal when you are around!"
Luke turned to Idie "Idie, are you alright?"
"I'm fine Luke, I'm okay, just … is there anyone else I need to kill? Because if not, I think I'd like to sleep a little."
She then fell unconscious into Luke's arms.
At that moment Wolverine arrived at the scene, he walked towards Cyclops "You son of a bitch" he said, "She (Idie) killed a dozen men in there, that's on you."
"Any civilian casualties?" Cyclops asked
"Lucky for you, no," Wolverine said
"Then she also saved a hundred lives," Cyclops said
"She should've never been in that position!" Wolverine screams
"You're right you should've been there yourself, instead of off in some bar," Cyclops said, causing Wolverine to pop his claws "You're gonna pop your claws on me now, is that it?"
"I didn't do that," Wolverine said, and then *boom* an electromagnetic bomb goes off. The metal around the explosion site draws into it "It's pulling anything that's metal to itself."
The metals were shaped into a sentinel, Cyclops turned towards Lights, "Go to the Black Bird, now!"
They nodded and flew towards the Black Bird.
"Nemesis is on his way to assess the situation, Logan, slow this thing down, I'll take the kids to Utopia, and try to get the rest of our big guns."
"Alright slim, but hurry, I don't know how long I can keep this thing busy," Wolverine said as he jumped on top of the Sentinel and started stabbing.
-30 Minutes Later, General POV-
A Giant Sentinel was walking towards the mutant homeland, the big guns of X-Men were out of town and would not make it in time.
"It looks very small from here," Idie said, "Maybe I could do something with the sea?"
"Like what?" Luke asked her
"I could subtract all the temperature from the water. Freeze it. That'll keep it locked still. Then hit it with all that heat." she said
"Wow, you can do that?" Luke asks in surprise,
"Uh-huh, I'll probably die, but it would certainly solve the problem," she said
"Don't- don't do that. Remember Idie, your life is more precious than one stinky robot. It'll be fine," Luke said,
Luke then notices Laurie arguing with the others "You can all stay. But this isn't a decision Idie gets to make, she is 14 for crying out loud" Laurie said as she grabbed Idie's hand "When I ran last time, I left you behind. I'm not doing that again. C'mon, let's leave." Laurie said
Hope then stood against her "No, Laurie… You're staying"
Laurie stopped in her tracks, but then something clicked for Luke, it all made sense… Hope had just ordered Laurie… It wasn't an accident she had this hold over them… She knew what was going on…
"YOU FUCKING BITCH" Luke shouted, increasing Hope's gravity by 1000g, but Hope managed to copy his powers in time, and easily canceled the 1000g.
"YOU KNEW YOU HAD CONTROL OVER US! ALL THIS TIME! ALL THIS TIME I THOUGHT IT WAS AN ACCIDENTAL BOND! A SIDE-EFFECT OF STABILIZATION! BUT IT WASN'T, WAS IT?!" Luke screamed, shocking everyone, even Kenji and Laurie.
He then flew up to Hope and punched her in the face, her lip bled slightly "Stop!" she tried to order him, but all it did was make Luke laugh.
"Hahaha, I got rid of that psychic bond a while back, I haven't figured out a way to get rid of it for the others until just now, that is…" after all, if Hope were to die, the psychic bond would most likely go away.
Luke then tried to kick Hope but she caught it and flipped him. He might be physically stronger and faster, but she was trained by Cable [6].
Luke then got up and fired a gravitational blast at her, but she stopped it by creating a gravitational force field,
Laurie wanted to help Luke, but Gabriel stood in her way, so she punched him in the face, catching by surprise, knocking him out on his ass, but then Teon jumped in, trying to stop her from hurting his master.
Just as Hope and Luke were about to punch each other in the face Idie shouted, "Stop It! Stop It! Stop It!", making everyone stop
"You can't do this! You must not do this!" they all looked at her "When they came for me… my parents resisted. When they turn on a witch child… that doesn't always happen… No matter how bad the world gets. It's always worse when we fight ourselves." she said
Luke sighed "Okay, you are right… I guess I shouldn't have done that, at least not now, when a Giant Pile of Metal Monster is walking towards us with the intent to end our race… But Hope, we are not done here, after the Sentinel is gone you and I are going to have a talk." Luke said, and in that instant, an idea popped into his head. He then flew towards the Sentinel.
While Luke was flying he heard Laurie saying to Hope "After this, no matter what Idie's out of here. I won't let you make that girl more collateral damage on your lunatic crusade"
Only for Hope to dismiss her "We can talk about that then."
A few seconds before he got to where Sentinel is, Cyclops fired one of his most powerful optic blasts yet, but it did not do anything noteworthy. The Sentinel was still coming.
Luke's plan was rather simple, he was going to use Sentinel's apparent inability to fly, and it's lack of intelligence against it. He changed the machine's gravitational pull to negative 1000g and hurled it into space. 'Why was I so scared of this thing? It's just a Giant Pile of Metal.' Luke thought to himself, and then he looked around, only to see the rest of the Lights celebrating with New X-Men, Cyclops, and Wolverine,
While everything seemed to be fine for the X-Men, this event would once again lead to a divide between the mutant race.
Characters:
Captain America [1]: Steve Rogers is a WWII veteran and the leader of the Avengers. He went through a special process called Project Rebirth that turned him into a Super Soldier. Some of the higher-ups wanted him to bring Luke in for questioning, most likely to make an example out of him.
Red Hulk [2]: US General turned to gamma-mutate. He was the one who chased after Bruce Banner for years, to turn Hulk into a weapon.
Iceman [3]: Bobby Drake is an Omega Level mutant with powers over Ice and anything related to Ice. If he wants to, he can cover the entire world in an eternal winter. Also, he is a total ladies man, definitely not gay, don't let his younger-self or redheaded teammate who can read minds tell you any different.

Namor [5]: Atlantean King who is also a mutant. He is likely the first jerk to appear in comics, and time has only solidified the King of Atlantis as the Grand Vessel of douches. He has a seat both in The Illuminati and its evil counterpart The Cabal. The guy also has a hard-on for Sue Storm, pretty much like every other Super-Powered King in Marvel.
Cable [6]: Nathan Summers, born to Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor (clone of Jean Grey), and was sent to the future to save his life from the Techno-Organic virus and fulfill his destiny as the savior of the Askani clan, where he was raised for 12 years by the re-embodied minds of his mother's genetic original and his father, the X-Men known as Jean Grey and Cyclops. Then, as an adult, after several decades as a military commander, he returned to the present day. He eventually becomes the adoptive father of Hope and the best friend of Deadpool.
