Loud Juniper

Chapter 1

The first steps

Okay, so quite a few of you must be wondering what's going with Loud Trainer. Rest assured, I do intend to continue that story. But for now, I'm having a bit of a block with it. Espcially with how frankly quick I did everything. So, in the mean time. I thought I'd do another fic based on an episode I hate even more than No Such Luck. Those of you who are keeping up with Gotham to Great Lakes know which one. For everyone else, it's Making the Grade and We'll be taking things to a region that gets far to little love. Unova! So, let's see where this goes and... Let's kick it up!

Within a cloudy black void, a young boy with white hair clad in an orange shirt was running with tears in his eyes. As he ran the shadow of many people floated past him, hurling insults at him.

'Way to go.' 'Useless.' 'All your fault.' 'You're nothing without us.' 'You are such a waste of space.' These insults continued until he stopped to see a young brunnete girl wearing glasses and a green sweater.

"You see, Lincoln?" The girl asked the white haired boy. "No matter what, we will always come out ahead and you will always lose." She said as images of him getting slammed in to an oven, having numerous tasks forced upon him by trickery, him getting beat up in a van, getting banned from a grocery store, left out in the rain, and finally, shunned by his entire town played out in front of him. "And it's all because nobody ever has or ever will..." She began to say before Lincoln let out a loud NO and shot up to find himself aged up by seven years, now had a physique that made him look like he'd be right at home doing martial arts, and his hair had grown out to reach the middle of his neck.

"Sni?" Lincoln heard as he looked down to see a small creature resembling a snake with limbs was teal with a pale green underbelly and red eyes looking up at him.

"I'm okay, Snivy. I'm okay." Lincoln said between struggled breaths before he pulled the creature close to his chest before small vine like tendrils and wrapped them around Lincoln. The boy then decided to get out of bed. "Come on. Let's go do our rounds." He said before he dawned a charcoal grey shirt, black pants, black and white sneakers, a black jacket, a pair of white fingerless gloves that were black on the back, and a black cap with a white brim and white half circle on it.

Snivy then hopped on to Lincoln's shoulder before he walked down stairs and outside in to a large field filled fantastical creatures. Suddenly, all of the anxieties he had felt from his nightmare melted away as he began to move across the field to a pond to feed some Toad like creatures, going to the trees and looking over the wings of some Bat like creatures, and finally giving a bath to several creatures that resembled Daruma Dolls.

He continued on with his chores for several hours until the sun finally came up.

"Ooh. We lost track of time there, huh?" Lincoln asked with a chuckle.

"Vy Snivy." Snivy replied with a smile.

"Come on, let's get some breakfast." Lincoln replied as the two of them went back in to the building. Once inside, Lincoln set a bowl of food on the table for Snivy and fixed himself some pancakes. Just then, he heard a commotion coming from down stairs. He then stood up and went over to the top of the stairs where he saw a blonde girl wearing an orange shirt, white skirt, orange leggings, yellow shoes, and a green beret. The girl had clearly tripped upon entering the building as she was being helped up by a brunet woman wearing white t-shirt, a green skirt, a pair of white and red sneakers, a pair of red diamond shaped earrings, and a white lab coat. 'Looks like Mom's helping another starting Trainer.' He thought. Before the brunet woman grabbed three red and white balls with white buttons in the middle of the black seam. She then gently tossed them on a table before three small creatures came out. One was Snivy with green scales on top, one, an orange and black Pig-like creature with a yellow mark over its red nose and a red ball on the end of its tail, and one, a blue and white Otter-like creature with a beige shell on the center of its chest.

"So, Bianca. Which Pokémon will you choose as your Starter? The Grass-type, Snivy, the Fire-type, Tepig, or the Water-type Oshawott?" The brunet woman asked.

"Oh. They're all so cute, I can't decide!" The blonde girl gushed as she looked down at the three with a smile. Upon gauging, the three, Bianca was quick to determine the natures of the Pokémon.

The Snivy seemed to glair at her slightly in a standoffish manner while the Oshawott cowered back slightly. The Tepig however could't stop smiling at her as the two of them met each other's gaze. Soon enough, the small Pig-like Pokémon, unable to contain its excitement, jumped up to be caught by Bianca.

"Well, aren't you just a little ball of energy?" Bianca asked as Tepig nuzzled her face. "Well, okay then. I choose you!" She exclaimed as the two smiled at each other.

"Excellent choice." The brunet woman said before handing a white rectangular device with pink pattern resembling the balls that the Pokémon had been in with a white button on the lower half and several smaller versions of the balls. "Here's your Pokédex and Pokéballs." She said as Bianca gratefully took them.

"Thank you very much, Professor Juniper." Bianca said with a bow.

"You are quite welcome and good luck on your journey." The brunet woman replied as Bianca headed out with her new Tepig.

'I wonder what it's like.' Lincoln thought as he looked down at his Snivy.

Some time later, Lincoln was sitting down to dinner with Professor Juniper, enjoying a nice curry dinner. As they ate, the Professor could tell that something was troubling her adopted son.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Professor Juniper asked in a kind voice before Lincoln let out a soft sigh.

"I've been thinking about this for a while." Lincoln began. "I see people coming here all the time, going off on journeys and finding their purpose." He said as Professor Juniper nodded in understanding.

"And you think that it's time for you to find yours." Professor Juniper said, always having an uncanny ability to be two steps away from the white haired boy.

"Well... yeah." Lincoln replied as Professor Juniper stood up from the table. "Mom?" He asked before he and Snivy looked at each other, Lincoln for a brief moment feeling as if he had done something wrong before the Professor came back in the room while smiling and holding a red and white backpack.

"I've had a feeling that you'd want to be going on a journey soon. So I've been preparing this." Professor Juniper said as Lincoln opened the back to see top of the line camping, hiking, and scuba gear, a fishing rod, cooking equipment, and every kind of Pokéball or medical supply Lincoln knew of. "I can't have you unprepared, can I?" She asked before Lincoln leapt in to a hug with her.

"Thanks, Mom." Lincoln said as Professor Juniper returned the hug.

"Of coarse. Now finish your food and get ready for bed. You have a big day tomorrow." Professor Juniper said, gaining a smiling nod from her adopted son before the two of them finished their meal.

That night, Lincoln was resting in his bed as Snivy made sure to snuggle up to him to keep his night terrors as much at bay as possible.

The next morning, Lincoln was standing outside of the Juniper Pokémon Lab.

"Now, remember to call me the second you get to Accumula town." Professor Juniper said with a tone that clearly conveyed the concern of a mother.

"I will, Mom. I promise Lincoln said before the Professor looked to the Pokémon on his shoulder.

"You, look out for Lincoln, Snivy.

"Vysni sni. Vysni vy." Snivy replied with a smile before the Professor gently pet her head and Lincoln left, beginning his journey.

Some time later, Lincoln was walking down down a road.

"Okay. We have food, we have medical supplies, and we have Pokéballs. What did we forget?" Lincoln asked. Just then, the sky began to darken as rain began to fall. "The forecast." He said while throwing up his hand. "I guess we should probably set up camp." Lincoln said before they heard a the sound of a girl screaming. Lincoln then instantly took off in to a run as the rain began to come down harder.

After a short run, Lincoln ended up coming to a collapsed part of the dirt road. He then looked down to see a pink haired, blue eyed girl wearing a dark teal shirt, skirt, shorts, and thigh socks, a teal blouse with yellow buttons, a pair of teal boots, a yellow hat, yellow gloves, and a black choker holding an injured black, Dog-like Pokémon with red skin and bone like accents on its head and back as the two of them were about to fall off a large drop.

"Help! This Pokémon is hurt!" The girl called as Lincoln nodded without a ward before he and Snivy nodded to each other before the Pokémon jumped off of the white haired boy's shoulder before vines once more came from her neck and one wrapped around Lincoln's waist before he jumped down while holding on to the other vine.

"Here. Wrap this around you." Lincoln said before the girl reached for the vine only for the ground beneath her to give way before she jumped and grabbed on to Lincoln's leg. But was unable to keep hold of the canine Pokémon. "Lincoln then in that split second pulled a black Pokéball with garnet and purple cloud like the designs on it "Voidball Go!" He called as the Pokémon was pulled in as it was converted in to black and red energy. The ball then instantly clicked before flying back in to Lincoln's hand before he signaled for Snivy to pull them up.

Upon reaching the road once more, Lincoln signaled for Snivy to jump back to his shoulder before he grabbed the girl by the hand and the two of them ran to a nearby cave that Lincoln was aware of to get out of the increasingly bad storm.

"Thanks for that." The pink haired girl said as she sat down agains the cave wall to catch her breath.

"No problem." Lincoln said as he did the same on the opposite wall. "I'm Lincoln by the way." He introduced himself.

"Georgia." The girl introduced back with a nod before the two of them looked out the the cave opening. "Well, it doesn't look like we're going anywhere for a while. We might as well, get some rest." She said as the two of them, both exsausted from the ordeal just passed out on the cave walls.

(Dream sequence)

Lincoln was once again walking in the dark void, this time faced by a blonde girl of about eighteen.

"Just give it up you little twerp. You know you're literally nothing without us and you'll never be able to prove otherwise." The girl said to him in a cold tone. He began to cower for a moment. But then a flash came to his mind about how he had saved Georgia and that Pokémon and... he simply let out a chuckle.

"You know something, Lori? You tried to beat me down and hammer that idea in to me my entire life and I believed you. But look what I did without you there to tear me down so you could feel big." Lincoln said with a cocky smirk planted firmly on his face.

"You listen to me, Lincoln Loud." Lori began with rage in her voice before Lincoln cut her off.

"Lincoln Loud is gone. My name is Lincoln Juniper, traveling Pokémon researcher and future Pokémon Master." Lincoln said as the void began to lighten up around him. "And you have no power over me any more." He said as Lori disappeared.

(Dream sequence end)

Lincoln and Georgia were both awakened by an explosive, continuos sound sound before they looked to see what looked like pillar of Lightning with the silhouette of a large Dragon-Pokémon in it which then disappeared, leaving the skies completely clear.

"Woah." The two of them barely managed to get out before Georgia winced in pain and fell to one knee before Lincoln knelt next to her.

"Here. Let me see." Lincoln said, taking off the pinkette's boot to look at her ankle. "Looks like a sprain." He observed before he stood up and and wrapped her arm. "Come on. They'll fix you up at the center and I can get this Houndour looked at." Lincoln said as he held up the Voidball up.

"Alright. Thanks." Georgia replied as she leaned against Lincoln and the two began walking.

(Meanwhile)

A plane landed in the region before a girl around the age of sixteen with black hair and violet eyes wearing a black sleeveless shirt held up only by the neck, a skirt that went down to her knees and was cut on the right, showing her leg, and a set of black and white striped forearm sleeves stepped off before pulling out an all red Pokéball with black rubber grips on the sides and a blue Pokéball with yellow lines and jutting out and a grid like pattern before opening them as a white and viridian Owl-like Pokémon and strange purple and red Pokémon with silver points on its head and cyan eyes appeared.

"Well, Rowlete, Poipole. Let's show the Unova region what Lucy Kukui can do." The girl said as she took her first step on to the region's soil as she began her own Journey before a cold and comforting wind blew over her.
