Came up with this watching Kensi's arc in Afghanistan again.

She shuts the door of the shipping container, brow furrowed at the stack of black cases by the front door. "What's with all the new equipment?"

Booker looks up from his laptop, eyes finding Kensi's as she walks up to the table. "The new guy brought it."

"New guy?"

"Yeah, just arrived. You'll be sharing a room."

"Greaaaat." She rolls her eyes, turning towards her bunk. Of course having space all to herself was too good to be true.

Taking a deep breath, Kensi opens the door to the small room, stepping inside she's expecting to be met with some spook or weirdo but the room is empty. As soon as the door closes again the sound of the shower permeates the small space, telling her exactly where her mysterious roommate is.

The agent takes a seat on her bed, figuring that he'll be out in a few and exactly 5 minutes later the shower turn off.

Her attention turns from the picture on her phone when the small door opens, bringing a gust of steam into the room. "I came in like a wreaking ballll. I never fell so hard in lo-"

Her jaw drops when he walks into the room in only a pair of sweat pants, towel drying his hair. She's losing it, yeah. She never made it back from her recon trip a few hours ago and this is just a hallucination. "Deeks?"

"Hey, partner."

"What-what are you doing here?"

"Well, Princess, I'm here to back you up."

"Back me up?"

"Yep!"

She's not really sure what comes over her, but getting up off her bed, she closes the distance between them and wraps her arms around him. It's only been a month but it's been the longest month of her life and he's here. "How?"

For the first time in 28 days he relaxes as she clings to him. Wrapping his own arms around her, his nose is just inches from her hair and he can't help but inhale. Half expecting to smell some generic shampoo, he's surprised when he gets the scent that's so uniquely her. Sunshine & Gunpowder. "I can be very persuasive when I want to be."

Tilting her head back, her mismatched chocolate orbs locking with his cerulean blues in the dimly lit room, unmoving from her current position. Her partner is here. "I'm really glad you're here."

"I go wherever you go."

"That's how we roll."

A smile spreads to his lips when she finishes his thought. Maybe it's the fact that her arms are still wrapped around him or maybe it's just what he's been waiting to do ever since she left LA. Whatever it is, he leans down bringing his lips to hers for a not so chaste kiss, her mouth just as eager as his.
