This is a Fanfic that I've had a long time in the making, around a full year to be exact, and I've bounced this idea around with my friends, all of which thought the idea was stupid, then again, that was a year ago. I've decided that I might as well go over the old project and redo it, with my now far superior skills in writing than past me, I hope I've done this idea justice. Comment, share, like, or whatever floats your boat. If you have any opinions, let me know! This is my first time writing a Splatoon fanfic so don't string me up and cut me down into a pit if I mess some things up. Anyways, enjoy the prologue!

The hardwood chair was uncomfortable. It was stained with a crimson liquid that could only be described as blood. The smell was horrible, the room that the young octoling was in reeked of nothing but death. His yellow, panic-filled eyes stared up at a figure covered in shadows. Their red, piercing eyes glared back at them. Hidden within those eyes was an untold malice directed towards the young octoling.

Said octoling was naked, the only thing on him was the gag in his mouth, and the rope binds that held his legs and hands together, preventing him from turning into an octopus and leaving. He needed all his limbs free if he was going to do that, but the ropes were on so tight that he couldn't even wriggle his way out of them. Each time he moved his feet or hands, the rope would irritate his skin.

The figure stared at the boy with curiosity as it spoke. "I don't understand… why do you struggle?" The figure asked, their feminine voice sounded familiar. Almost as if he had heard it before, but he couldn't identify who it was. The voice sounded like they were no older than maybe 16 years old, yet… at the same time, the shadowy figure looked more adult than a teenager.

"What a shame. No answer… well, it's hard to reply when you're gagged up like that. Oh well, let's get this over and done with… shall we?" With that last statement, a sickening smile came upon the figures' face as they revealed what looked to be a bloodied butchers' knife from behind their back. The octoling shook and wriggled, trying to escape the chair when then, in an instant, his life ended.

The sunny sky of the bright tomorrow. Something that everyone had the pleasure of waking up to. It was a beautiful morning. There were no clouds in the sky, and the sun shined brightly down on a small half house located at sandy shoals. A small community complex located on the edge of Inkopolis.

Laying down in their queen-sized bed, trying to squeeze in a few extra minutes of sleep, was a young inkling by the name of Sakuma Chimaki. Her black hair draping down her back as she groaned. Raising her head out of her pillow, her half-opened eyes squinted at the time. It was already around 7 am.

"I hate the mornings," Sakuma complained as she slowly rolled out of bed. Her sleeping wear was a simple, yet useful, grey nightgown. Sandy shoals was known to be one of the hotter regions in Inkopolis, so it stood to reason that she would wear something loose and baggy. As she stood up, she put on her favourite pair of black slippers. Once done, she outstretched her arms towards the ceiling before bending backwards, stretching her back out before returning to her original standing position.

She glanced over at her bedside table; a letter was neatly placed there. She walked over to the letter and picked up the piece of paper. She unfolded it and read it aloud. "Sorry for not being able to kiss you goodbye, had a very important matter with the team, I'll see ya after school. Love: Takie XOXO." Sakuma said with a deadpanned tone.

"I wonder what that was?" Sakuma said sarcastically, showing little interest in the issue. "I suppose I should get ready for school… As much as I despise it." The black-haired inkling said as she shuddered. School for Sakuma was like hell on earth. Sakuma was born with black hair. Which is an abnormality in inkling society. This caused her to undergo intense bullying, scrutiny, and harassment almost everywhere she went in her home town of Squidselvainia.

When she moved out from home and went to Inkopolis with her best friend turned girlfriend, Taketa Euiko. She had thought the scrutiny that she faced in her home town would dwindle, as Inkopolis was advertised as the most inclusive city in all of the country. However, that was less than true. She was continuously mocked for her 'weird' hair colour and called a multitude of things such as: Weirdo, loser, blackie, monotone, and disgrace.

However, only one person would stand up for her. The Yang to her Yin. That being Taketa. She had gone through similar things as a child. White hair wasn't exactly normal either, and she would be harassed, scrutinized and bullied the same amount as Sakuma. However, unlike Sakuma, who bottled up her emotions on the situation, Taketa spoke out about it and stood up for herself every time.

Whenever Taketa stood up for Sakuma, she felt as if she needed to repay her the favour. But Sakuma didn't have the courage, nor the will power to do so. Due to her constant bullying, and harassment. Her self esteem had drifted to near zero. However, that didn't mean she had turned into a snivelling coward. She simply started to isolate herself from social circles, and only talk to those who respected her.

However, a darker, more violent side of Sakuma began to form. One that wanted to get nothing more than revenge on those who had wronged her. Thus, one day, at a party, when one of her many harassers, who went by the name of Aki Yumi went missing, no one even knew about her disappearance. Until the police found her dismembered body in a dumpster near Inkopolis tower.

The person who killed Aki was none other then Sakuma, who had not been found out by police like she thought she would have. Due to Inkopolis' funding going mostly towards the splatfests' and tournaments, the police was underdeveloped and didn't have the right technology to catch someone like Sakuma.

And just like that, Sakuma became one of the most infamous serial killers in all of Inkopolis history. Nobody knew she was a killer either. Not even Taketa. More and more people began to disappear, and by years end, Sakuma had killed nearly over a hundred people, dismembered them, and threw their bodies in random dumpsters across Inkopolis, making her nearly impossible to catch due to the way she lured her victims.

She didn't kidnap them, she didn't drug them, she simply invited them to hang out at her place, or meet up at an alleyway, where she would drug, and take them to her basement, where she would kill them.

The most sickening part about it was, that she felt no remorse in doing the things she did. She was heartless, yet at the same time, she never killed people at random. These murders only occurred when Sakuma saw that person do something disgraceful, or hurtful towards someone. In a way, it was a form of sick justice, and that was what she saw it as. Justice.

As Sakuma had gotten dressed, she thought about the person she had killed last night. The boys' name was Niwa Atshushi. He was an octoling who had came from Octo-valley in search of a new life. However, he made the mistake of selling drugs to students at Sakuma's school. For that, she lured Niwa, saying that she would promise him a 'good time' if he came over to her house.

Thanks to Sakuma's rather attractive look, which consisted of a slim yet slightly toned body, a medium-sized chest, and an attractive looking lower half; she easily lured him to her home, where she used chloroform to knock him out, took him to her basement, stripped him of his clothes, bound his hands and feet using hemp-rope, gagged him, and tied him to a wooden chair using a regular rope. She killed him shortly after he had awoken. Dismembering his body and throwing his remains in a trash bag, she dumped his body in a dumpster fifty meters away from her house.

His body was found by a man who said he was throwing out his garbage when he smelt something horrible in the dumpster, and after seeing a blood-soaked garbage bag the man had called the police and they took his remains.

Sakuma wasn't all that satisfied with the murder of Niwa but didn't want to fuss over it since she still got away with it like she always had. In the prospect of things, she saw this now as merely a part of her daily routine. Find someone who does something horrible, lure them into hanging out, kill them, and dispose of the body. All of which seemed like a hassle, but in reality, it was almost too easy for her.

Sakuma stood in front of the mirror as she brushed her teeth. Her reflection stared back at her, her reflections red, crimson eyes stared back into hers, never once not making eye contact. She stopped brushing her teeth as she spat out the toothpaste, she then began rinsing her mouth out with the blue ink that came out of the sink.

After doing the simple task, she walked back into her room. Sitting neatly on her dresser was the set of clothes she always wore, aside from a bra, and undergarments, she had her purple sweater, her black shorts, and red boots. All of them were made by Krak-on with their new branch of clothing that they had released. After she gotten dressed, she made her way down to the kitchen, where she would cook her breakfast. Said breakfast consisted of eggs, bacon, and orange juice.

After she finished making, then eating her nutritional breakfast, she decided that it was time to leave for school. Cleaning her dishes, drying them, then putting them away; she walked over to her front door and opened it. Taking a step out, she breathed in the fresh air. Another day, she'd get to walk free and do as she pleased.

By all accounts, she was dangerous, but no one ever batted an eye to her. Her neighbours always greeted her, and she would always greet them. Her walk to school was always a quiet one, all until she got to the school itself, where the murmuring would begin, then came the mocking, the teasing, and the name-calling. All of which she'd block out, ignoring all the things being said to her and moving on with her life, silently planning her next kill.

Throughout the day, murmurs about the disappearance of the transfer student Niwa Atshushi began to surface. This same thing happened with most of, if not all of Sakuma's victims. Chatter about their disappearance for the first two days, before then ceasing to talk about them, almost like they never existed. Sakuma found it rather amusing just how stupid most of her school was. All they kept mentioning how if they found the serial killer, who was dubbed the squid killer by the police, they would 'kick their ass' with ease. None of them knowing that said serial killer was right there, in their very school, living a quiet, peaceful life among them.

The fear of getting caught used to always echo throughout her mind. But now, not so much. It had gotten so bad that at one point, Callie, Marie, Pearl, and Marina covered the topic on their perspective news channels. Due to them being millionaires, they offered a reward for the serial killers' capture. That being 1 million cash to whoever could catch them.

This never fazed Sakuma, since the probability of her getting caught was slim to none. No one had ever caught her yet, nor seen her actions, and if people ever saw her taking a victim to her house, she simply said that she had found them passed out in an alley she frequented and said she was taking them to her house to rest. It was a convenient excuse after one of her neighbours saw her take one of her new victims, she said that very excuse and they fell for it.

As the school day neared its end, she now had to get home and get ready for work. She worked at a coffee shop as a barista. She had been working there ever since she moved to Inkopolis. She made 100 cash bi-weekly. Which was enough to pay the bills. In a month, she made 200 cash, and in a year she'd make 2,400 cash. Which, for someone like Sakuma, was a lot.

Sakuma never made that much money back in her old town of Squidselvania. As she got home and changed into her uniform for work, she noticed that she had forgotten to feed her pet, which was a sea snail she had won while participating in a splat-fest. Team dog vs Team cat. Naturally, she picked team cat, but since it lost, and since she barely participated, she was given one super sea snail. One that she decided on keeping as a pet.

Picking up its favourite food, that being filleted fish, she put it into the tank. Like a monstrosity, the sea snail climbed onto the fish, and at the bottom of it's blue, friendly-looking appearance, it opened its mouth, revealing rows, and rows of dagger-like teeth. It devoured the fish within seconds. After eating its meal, it purred like a cat as Sakuma patted it on the shell, the sea snail giving Sakuma a pleasant-looking expression before Sakuma left for work.

Once she arrived, she clocked in for her shift, said hi to her a few of her co-workers, and began her shift. As a barista, she had to make every kind of coffee imaginable. To which, she was extremely good at. She only worked for four hours a day, but she made 20 cash a day, which to the normal Inkling would be considered highway robbery and underpayment, Sakuma didn't care. Making coffee was her passion, and she could care less if she was being scammed. She just wanted to make her costumers happy, while also spotting out victims.

One person, in particular, stood out to her. Yoshifumi Misato. She was in her math class, and she was a prick. She would harass others around her, bully those who she deems as failures, and overall, she was a horrible person. The perfect victim. Using quick wit, Sakuma wrote down her number and, while she was on break, she walked over to Yoshifumi and placed her number on her table.

Yoshifumi looked up at Sakuma as she smiled. "Oh, hey weirdo, what do you want." Yoshifumi taunted as Sakuma rolled her eyes. "Can you meet me near the vending machines near the office building at 11:00 pm. I wanted to tell you something, I think I might just know who the serial killer is, better yet, I believe they go to the very school me and you both attend. Knowing how much you love to gossip; I could help you with starting a rumour if you just go to the location. I'll give you more information if you decide to show up." Sakuma said before walking away. Yoshifumi looked down at the piece of paper on the table. It had a number, and a message saying: 'text me at 10:30 to confirm.'

Yoshifumi took the piece of paper and put it in her pocket. Sakuma glanced behind her; she had taken the bait. 'This is too easy.' Sakuma thought as she went back to finish the rest of her shift. Another hour had gone by, and Sakuma was just cleaning up in the back of the kitchen. Making sure everything was put away properly, and making sure that the coffee bean canisters were all sorted in the correct places, making sure all the coffee machines were clean, and making sure that all of the tables were wiped down. Or, in other, simpler terms, doing the janitors job for them.

After cleaning up the café; Sakuma closed it up and started her walk home. As she was on her way home, she spotted a familiar white-haired inkling. It was none other than Taketa Euiko. Sitting with Taketa was a group of two inkling boys and one Octoling girl. Sakuma could only assume they were Taketa's teammates that she mentioned in her letter. The Octoling girl had a striking resemblance to Niwa Atshushi.

Just as Sakuma was about to cross the street, she heard Taketa call out her name. "Sakuma! Come here! I want you to meet my team!" Taketa shouted as Sakuma turned to face the white-haired inkling. Sakuma gently sighed before walking over to the group of four. She never really understood turf wars. Granted, she had participated in them before, she just never found them particularly enjoyable. The only time she had a modicum of fun doing them was when she was with Taketa, who by all accounts was a pro, and earned a lot of money playing in tournaments and overall being in the major leagues.

As Sakuma approached the group, the two inkling boys saw her and looked at her confused, then looked over at Taketa. Just as Sakuma reached the group, a blue-haired inkling, who wore a black hoodie, baggy black shorts, and red boots similar to Sakuma's spoke up.

"Oi, I never saw a black-haired inkling before, I wonder, are you and Taketa Siamese twins?" The blue-haired Inkling joked as Sakuma rolled her eyes, a look of annoyance was visible on her face. "Ha, ha, ha. Very funny." Sakuma said coldly as she stared at the blue-haired boy. "My name is Sakuma Chimaki. What are your guys' names…" Sakuma said in a rather deadpan tone.

"Oh, did you not have your morning coffee, Sakuma?" Taketa asked as Sakuma nodded. "Yeah, we were out of it. You didn't happen to buy some, did you? I refuse to drink the stuff my workplace sells because it's gross." Sakuma said as Taketa giggled. "Don't worry, I bought your favourite brand. Anyways, would everyone like to introduce themselves to my lovely girlfriend?" Taketa said, speaking exaggeratedly as she walked behind Sakuma, wrapping her arms around her shoulders and lightly hanging off of her.

"Oh, I didn't know you swung that way, Taketa…" The blue-haired one said as Taketa giggled. "Yeah, I really should have said that," Taketa said, ceasing the exaggerated dangling and standing up straight, keeping one hand on Sakuma's shoulder; which she didn't seem to mind all that much.

Despite Sakuma being a serial killer, she wasn't completely detached from the world. She had a stable mental state, as stable as a serial killer could be, and she had morals that she kept herself in line with. She'd never kill an innocent person. So long as you weren't a criminal, drug dealer, abuser, or harasser; you were safe from the squid killers' wrath.

The blue-haired inkling was slapped up the back of the head by an orange-haired inkling. The orange-haired inkling, unlike the rest of the people in the group, had tanned skin compared to the rests almost pale white. "Jeez, sorry about Sasaki, he tends to not know when to shut his mouth. My name is Zakai Kanbe. This blue-haired fellow is Sasaki Dai." Zakai said.

Zakai wore a black beanie, a blue hoodie, black pants, and red shoes. Zakai's eyes and Sasaki's eyes were the same green colour, and they both were muscularly toned. Rumours had it that Sasaki Dai was a marine in training. Being trained by the one and only Captain Cuttlefish. However, no one believed the rumours, aside from a select few. Most people also believed the Captain Cuttlefish, the leader of the Splatoon brigade back during the great turf war of a hundred years ago, was dead. However, several news articles had interviews with the man, even to this day; making him over at least 125 years old.

Sakuma looked at the pink-haired octoling with a curious look in her eyes. "And what would your name be? Sakuma asked as said octoling flinched at Sakuma's deadpanned tone. The octoling wore an off white tee-shirt, black short-shorts, and black sandals. "O-Oh, uh, sorry about that. My name is Sakura Atshushi." The octoling said as Sakuma mentally sighed. 'I knew they looked similar…'

"And that's the team!" Taketa said as she smiled. Taketa was wearing a short crop top that only covered her chest, and even then, it wasn't much since Sakuma could see the lower half of her bra that was just barely exposed. Taketa's whole waist was exposed. Not only that, but Taketa wore her shorts lower on her waist, exposing some of her lower waist, but not too much, as they would fall off if she did. She had sunglasses on her forehead and she wore black runners.

"It is a pleasure to meet you all," Sakuma said as Zakai smiled. "Ya don't have to be so formal ya know," Zakai commented as Taketa giggled. "She doesn't interact with people; she likes to keep to herself ya' know," Taketa said, putting on a fake accent to make it seem funnier. "Yikes, well, hey, if you aren't busy Sakuma, perhaps some time, you, me, Taketa, and Sakura could all do some turf wars," Sasaki said as Zakai sighed. "As per usual, leaving me out in all the fun," Zakai said jokingly as Taketa rolled her eyes.

"I'm not a big fan of doing turf wars. They just aren't my thing…" Sakuma said, rubbing her left forearm as Taketa groaned. "Oh, come on Sakuma, the last time you did one was at the start of the school year. That was seven months ago. Just skip work tomorrow and join us, please!" Taketa said, pleading eyes staring at Sakuma's cold, emotionless ones. However, her cold demeanour snapped at her girlfriends' child-like antics. "Ok fine… a couple of games couldn't hurt. I'll join you guys tomorrow." Sakuma said, her cold tone breaking into a more cheerful one at the sight of Taketa's bright smile.

"Yeah! I knew my pleading would work! It always does~!" Taketa said, hugging Sakuma. "Ok, ok, you don't need to tackle me you know," Sakuma said as Taketa sighed before letting go. "Ok guys, I'll see ya tomorrow," Taketa said as she grabbed Sakuma by the wrist with a smile. "Come on! Let's go to the gun store, we need to get ya new one, that old crappy splattershot Jr ain't gonna be good enough!" Taketa said, dragging Sakuma to Sheldon's shop.

After an hour of weapon suggestions from Sheldon and Taketa, Sakuma bought an Aerospray RG. Something that Sheldon approved of, and something that Taketa was not expecting. Taketa paid for the weapon as Sheldon thanked them both for their patronage as Taketa waved goodbye as the pair headed home.

It was now 11:30 at night. Standing at an alleyway was Yoshifumi Misato. She was holding her phone out; she had texted the number she had in her pocket. She had forgotten who it was from since they didn't have a name on the paper. The person who the number belonged to texted her, saying that they should meet up at the alleyway near the local high school; to which Yoshifumi blindly agreed to after the texter promised information on a rumour about the squid-killer going to the same high school as her.

However, after waiting an hour for this person to arrive, she was starting to get the feeling that she had been tricked, and just as she was about to leave; she felt a cold, and sharp object press up against her neck, along with a piece of cloth wrapping around her nose and mouth, all the while a haunting voice spoke into her ear saying: "You're mine now."

With the chilling sentence being spoken to her, Yoshifumi passed out due to the cloth being soaked in chloroform. Yoshifumi's body went limp, as the figure removed the knife from her neck, and stuffed the cloth back into her pocket. Picking up the now unconscious girl by the arm and making it look like she was helping someone walk home after passing out, they walked to the figures' house.

The figure looked around, making sure no one saw them as they walked into the basement with Yoshifumi. Just like what happened to Niwa, the same thing happened to Yoshifumi. She woke up, struggled, but was ultimately killed. Afterward, when the figure stepped out of the shadows, it was Sakuma.

"Another one bites the dust," Sakuma said, her deadpanned tone echoed in the basement as she grabbed a circular saw that she bought from the department store a year ago. Plugging it into the wall, she turned it on and began to dismember the dead body. Bloodstained the floor as she cut the body up; placing each limb into one heavy-duty garbage bag. After the deed was done, she turned off the circular saw and cleaned the blood off the floor.

After she finished cleaning, she took the bloodied garbage bag, and she began her walk to find a random dumpster. After an hour of searching, she finally found one. Walking up to it and placing the bag gently inside, she slid her arm out of the dumpster. However, when she did, she cut herself on something, causing her to flinch when she retracted her arm. Looking inside the dumpster, she saw what seemed to be the edge of an arrowhead, sticking out from a garbage bag.

She looked at her arm and saw the wound. She winced in pain before sighing. "Nothing bandage wrap can't fix…" Sakuma said to herself as she walked home. When she came through the door, she walked to the bathroom and opened up the cupboard, pulling out a roll of bandage, she wrapped her lower arm with the bandage. Afterward, she put the bandage wrap away and walked to her room, crawling into bed with Taketa.

Little did she know, that arrow would change everything about the way Sakuma lived…

-To Be Continued-

And that is the end of the prologue! What did ya'll think? I hope I got character descriptions right, such as referring to the tentacle hair as just hair. Also, I won't be calling clothes 'gear' in this story, since it would make things too confusing. If you noticed the tags, you might already be knowing what Stand Ms. Chimaki will be getting. If you didn't check the tags, then you are in for a surprise. As for the female OC x female OC thing. I wanted to create my own characters because the ones that already exist would be contrived. Of course, Marie, Callie, Pearl, and Marina will get involved with the story, and they will play prominent roles as well. Before anyone asks, yes, other people will develop a Stand, in do time. I hope this clears up any questions that people have for this prologue. With that being said, see ya in the next chapter!
