Since you know dogs don't live as long as humans. If they did 12 years of school they would be old already. So just assume that there is only 7 grades instead of 12. 2 in elementary, 2 in middle and another 3 in high school. Let's just say the average lifespan of a dog is a bit longer than usual. 20 years or so.

I noticed this halfway through the story. Chase is in his first year of high school.

"Do we have to move?" I ask my owner

"Look chase, I know you wanna stay in adventure bay with Marshall but Katie asked me to move in with her." He says back

"I don't wanna start join a high school as a new student." I grumbled

"Especially in the middle of the year." I added

"You will probably meet some new friends. Maybe some love interests." He joked

"That's not funny, you know me and Marshall are best friends, I don't need a girlfriend." I replied

"You did seem to like Skye." Ryder said

"I didn't like her. Plus she likes Marshall." I said in embarrassment.

"How can it be that hard? Just find some nice kids." He said

"Plus, Katie has a cat and I'm getting more and more allergic to them." Chase argued

"It's not that bad, just some sneezes. I'll clean up all the hair." He smiled

"Fine." I said

"Remember, just do your work. Don't go with any suspicious kids either." He said to me

"I know, if I'm gonna become a cop I'll make the best decisions."

He parked the car.

"Let's grab out things and go in." He said

I grabbed a small suitcase with some things from home. We are still moving in but somethings have to go.

"Hi Katie." I said

"Hey chase." She said petting me on the pet.

I do enjoy Katie and her cat Callie but I'm allergic to cats.

Even worse.

My first day of school was tomorrow.

"Hey babe." Ryder said

Katie kisses him on the lips.

"*yuck*" I said with a fake gargle

"Mooewha. You know this will be you and a special girl one day." Katie said

"Yeah right." I shrugged

"Come on, we need to visit the school and after we can see what's around here. I hear Sundown city has some nice spots." Ryder said

"Visit right now? It's 8 a.m" I exclaimed

"Yeah, you should be at school right now." Ryder said

"It's Sunday." I said

"I know."

"Whatever." I said walking back out.

I didn't even get to see my room.

"If you ever get lost, ask Callie." Katie said

"You got it." I said in a monotone voice.

We hopped in the car.

I watched the buildings pass by. See some pups here and there. Even cats.

"You know this high school is one of 13 different high schools for pups and cats like you." Ryder said

"If so, how come I had to go the the one with cats and dogs in it?" I asked

"Because it the closest. The others are at least 20 miles away. This one is down the street." He explained

"This city is huge." I responded

"One of the biggest in the state."

I can see multiple dog parks go by. I can also see even more dogs pass by.

"We're here?" I ask feeling the car stop

"Yup, you zoned out for a bit." He said

"Oh."

We walked out and saw a high school. Looks bigger than the one I went to.

At it was a sign that said

"Welcome to paws high school"

"Original name" I joked to myself

I followed up Ryder up the stairs. I wouldn't say I'm introverted but it's easier to talk to someone when they start the conversation. I don't just go up to someone and ask them how you doing.

We walked in and saw the office. Right in the very front.

There was some dogs walking around. Probably doing after school things.

I noticed and Labrador and grey mix breed look at me and start whispering before walking away.

I could barely hear their faint whispers.

*knock knock knock*

Not even a second later the door was open.

"You must be Ryder and Chase." He said

"That's us." Ryder said shaking his hand.

He offered me a handshake and I took it. Ryder always tells me to never deny a handshake unless you know it bad. It rude.

"You can walk around the campus while me and Ryder talk." He offered

Before I even got the chance to talk Ryder spoke.

"He would love that." He said

I didn't disobey Ryder. Or make him look back. I've seen shows where dogs talk back and argue. Like yelling.

I wouldn't dare yell or argue to Ryder. Besides this morning.

I turned and started looking at the class room door numbers.

I tried to remember every bit and piece of the numbers.

They were luckily in numerical order.

I followed each hall way looking at the differences.

I did this for a little bit. Until realization hit me.

On the bottom left of the door it said what the grade the teacher taught was. I was all the way in 11th grade.

"Hi." A feminine voice came from no where

"Jesus Christ. Where did you come from." I ask the strange husky.

"I thought you would have heard me. I hear German Shepard's have good hearing and sense of smell." She said

"I think I do. I test out my smelling with my owner."

"Cool, we don't have any German Shepard's around here." She said

"How come?" I ask knowing that my breed of dog isn't that rare.

"They go missing. We don't know what happens to them... usually a week later they are found dead." She said

"What? No way that happens." I said

"It hasn't happened for awhile now. German Shepard's still don't come here though." She said

"I uhh, didn't get your name by the way." I asked

"Oh, yeah I did sneak up on you." She joked

"My names chase." I said raising my paw

"Mines Everest." She said raising her paw.

"Guess you're my fi-"

"What are you doing 'tough guy'" a voice said

I turned around and saw a bulldog. It's wasn't your average lumpy skin bag bulldog. No it was your un-average bulldog.

He was bigger than most bulldogs.(not as big as me though) He was also jacked. Like steroids jacked.

"O-oh, w-would you look at that. I mutant bulldog." I mumbled

"What did you say?" He said

"I said would you look at that. A strong bulldog." I fixed my words.

"That's right. What are you doing with my girl?" He asked

"Talking." I said

"Trying to be a smart ass?" He asked

"No." I responded

He seemed to be getting angrier at every response.

"What do you want me to say?" I ask

"Aren't you scared?" He asked

"No, I'm uncomfortable." I admitted

"He's a new pup, leave him alone." Everest said

"I saw you two holding hands." He said

I raised my paw and offered him a handshake.

He slapped it out of his way.

"I'm gonna make your year miserable." He said

"I'm chase by the why." I said

He spat on the floor before walking away.

"What's his deal?" I asked Everest

"I should get going. Rubble doesn't like when I talk to boys. He gets jealous." She said before catching up to her boyfriend who was clearly over compensating for something small.

"Chase!" I heard Ryder call

I ran back to the office.

"Chase, I am proud to announce you an official member of paw high school." He said

"Thank you." I said

He handed me my schedule on a small piece of paper.

"Your first day starts tomorrow." He said

We walked out.

"Where did you go?"

"I was looking at the classroom numbers. I don't wanna get lost on my first day." I said

"You're always preparing, you didn't even make a friend. Heck... you didn't even talk to anyone." Ryder said

"Actually, I talk to this husky. Then her boyfriend got all mad. Okay. When you think of bulldog what pops up. Right now?" I ask

"A dog maybe about half your size, maybe a bit smaller with lumps of skin and fat. Not lumps but rolls." Ryder said

"That's what I thought too. This bulldog had some extra testosterone. He was a bit smaller than me and he was jacked." I explained

"This is gonna be your average school movie." Ryder said

"I hope it's not. I just wanna get by." I said

"Yeah, I had a pretty uneventful high school." He said

"That's what I want." I responded

"Then school gets boring. At least attempt to get a girlfriend. So you'll have something to do besides homework and play with Marshall on the PolyStation." He said

"Even if it does happen." I mumbled.

"So, we do you wanna go?" Ryder asked

"Let's go to the bridge. People it's a nice view." Katie said

I didn't even notice Katie and Callie getting in. I jumped to the back so ryder and Katie can sit up front.

"So, how was it?" Callie asked me

I was surprised to here her talk. If she does talk it not even a sentence. It's ways a 'k' or a grumble.

I don't know if it's because she's in high school. She's almost done with school anyways. Most importantly I finally get to have a conversation with her.

"It was good" I said

"Did you meet that jacked bulldog." She asked

"Yeah, why?" I asked

"He's not gonna like you." She said

"He didn't seem to like me when I met his girlfriend." I said

"Yeah, he's doesn't bug the kids in the grade above. Which I'm in." She said

"I wanna know why he won't like me?" I asked

"Because, the last time I have ever loose was fight was when he lost to a German Shepard after school. It was cool." She said

"How is that cool?" I ask

"Seeing 2 dogs go down on each other cool, doesn't happen to often." She replied

I heard a flick.

I looked to my left to see Ryder and Katie taking selfie.

"I think you can beat him in a fight" Callie said

"I'm not fighting anyone." I replied to her comment.

"He will probably fight you, he has the IQ of a rock. I don't know how he got a girlfriend." She said

"So, Callie do you wanna head to the bridge with us?"

"Yeah." She said before going back into her mysterious silence.

You could see the bridge from where Katie lived. It looks closer that it is.

I started humming a tune I heard as I watched the blue bridge get closer and closer. Cars drive by at what seemed to be speed of light.

I looked at Callie and she was on her phone. Every time I look at her she's on that thing.

"So, does that mean we're a thing?" I asked her

"Definitely."

"So, when is the next time we will see chase?" I asked her

"Marshall, you are always worrying about him. He's smart, strong and cute. He can take care of himself." She said

"Skye, I know but there's some weird people in bigger cities." I replied

"Plus, I never heard you call me cute." I added

She punched me.

"Be quiet you goofball." She added with another punch

"Okay, you can stop hitting me." I said hugging her.

"So, did you ever tell chase anything about me. I did" skye said

"Yeah, I told him I liked you." I said blushing.

"I can imagine the wait. Knowing both of us liked each other but we didn't know." Skye said

"He basically was the 3rd wheel all of middle school" I said

"Yeah, I gotta go. Tell chase I said hi." Skye said running off

"Okay!" I yelled before heading home myself.

Now that I think about it, maybe I should have brought my phone. Maybe Marshall is texting me. Still how would I play? I don't have it setup up yet.

My thoughts ended when I saw a hand waving in front of me.

"Earth to chase- I repeat earth to chase." Ryder said

"What?" I ask

"You zoned out...again" he said

"Whoops." I said

I looked out and saw that the beige had tons of people and pets walking around it.

"Looks like it's full." Katie said

"Yeah, really full." Ryder said

"I know another smaller bridge with the same view." Katie said

I silently groaned as we drove off for another bridge.

Tomorrow I started school.

It's kinda a waste of time.
