Here they go again. Every day it's the same. They meet together with worry in their eyes, and then they leave. It's constant. Day in, day out. Nighttime too. Don't they ever sleep? It's just a game.

Today the tall man is first. He's the biggest one, with markings like the Saint Andrews Cross on his face and chest. Usually he's the first to arrive. There is gentleness in his eyes. He looks like a father, kind yet stern, loving and protecting. I wouldn't mind having him on my side.

The girl meets with him. I've met her before; her name is Minnie or Mimi or something like that. She's always seen dancing around, her liveliness a stark contrast to the stoic face of the man. But I think he enjoys her life. She brings light to the rest of them.

The others in their group join them- the blonde woman with the stern spine and the soft eyes, the man with the blue hair, the Silver Knight, the small angel-child.

And then him.

Sometimes he is with them, sometimes he is not. His body is quietly androgynous, his voice soft and husky. And his eyes…his eyes speak of an ache beyond time. The group seems to gather around this silent boy-child, as if their lives depended on him.

And then one by one, they leave, heading to places within the World.

Why are they always so serious? It's just a game, isn't it?

Isn't it?

Author's Note:

Here we go. Short. Sweet. To the point. Hope you enjoyed it.

By the way, hack/SIGN- third anime I cried at. The first was Rurouni Kenshin (the episode when Kenshin leaves), the second was Shaman King (episode when Yoh dies), and then the finale of DHS. Sad day.
