No Excuses!
A/N- I told this story to my assistant band director, Mr. Proctor, during band camp and he thought it was funny, so I wrote it down and now I'm typing it up and posting.
It's pretty much just a conversation between two people during block (when your not supposed to be talking) and one is telling the other about a dream they had.
-There's no excuse for moving at attention!
-Even if you're drowning, right?
-Right!
-What was that all about?
-A dream I had.
-Tell me about it.
-Ok. Well we were on the practice field, right, and it had been raining. It still was, actually. Hard, and fast. So the field was covered in water. Well the water was rising. And pretty soon it was over our heads. But Mr. P kept yelling for us to stop moving at attention.
-Ok.
-Well we tried telling him we couldn't because we were drowning.
-Ok...
-Well we all ended up drowning, and after a while Newsome shows up, and asks Mr. P where the band was. Mr. P just said, "Oh, they drowned." Mr. Newsome was silent for a minute. Then he said, "Ok, well, ya wanna go grab a bite to eat? So they left, not paying any attention to the bodies rising to the surface.
-That's... kinda weird.
-Hey! You two! Stop moving at attention! Drop out and take 15!
-(Both drop)-
-Your dreams are weird. You don't think Mr. P would actually do something like that? Do you?
-(thunder sounds in distance)-
-I dunno. He might.
-No mo0ving at attention!
-(both begin laughing)-
