Yami had promised himself that he wouldn't do this to himself. He promised himself that, besides his other, he wouldn't get close to any other mortal in this world.
He didn't remember much from his past, but there was one thing that had remembered from the very time he was reborn. From the time where Yugi had place the final piece of the puzzle into place.
Before he had been sealed away, sealed away to protect his people and the world, he was told that one day, he would be reborn. When he was reborn, he mustn't fall in love.
If he were to fall in love, and carry through with it, that the world would be plunged into darkness again, the world would end.
So, from the moment he had been reborn and begun to reside within Yugi, he had always kept this in mind.
The only reason he had ever protected her was because she was Yugi's friend. The only reason he had saved her was because Yugi had loved her, and that if Yugi were to loose her, then he would go into a depression. Yami wouldn't be able to take that, so he had saved her time and time again.
She saved him too, though. She had saved him, just like all of them had. If it weren't for them, he had no idea how many of his games he would've been able to pull through. Without them there supporting him, he wondered if the Heart of the Cards would've worked.
He didn't wonder, actually. He knew that it would've failed him if it weren't for Yugi's friends.
She was different though. She was friendly, and kind. She was energetic, and had so much energy.
When she slept, she looked like a princess, and when she was awake, she reminded him of someone – though he didn't know whom.
He had control over himself though. He was lucky for that. As long as he didn't go through with what he felt, everything would be okay.
He knew that Téa liked him, though. He didn't quite know what to do about it though. She was shy though, and probably wouldn't make any moves on him, but just knowing the fact made it no more easier on him.
He wondered. If he ever did find a way off of this plane of existence, if he ever did end up finally dying, would he ever forget her?
Would she ever forget him?
