AUTHOR'S NOTE
This is set long before the episode "Seductions" when Scott was still oppositional and insisting that he didn't belong at Horizon. I do not own Higher Ground or any other familiar characters. They all belong to Fox Family.

INTRODUCTION
Scott has a dream about his life before coming to Horizon.

Scott could see the football coming towards him. It seemed to sail in slow motion. For a moment, he couldn't breathe. If he caught this, he could make it to the end zone and win the game. If he fumbled...well, he didn't want to do that. The ball began to sink and Scott stretched out his arms. He caught the ball and ran towards the end zone. He dodged the competing team's players and made it to the end of the field.
"Touch down Scott Barringer!" Scott grinned widely at the cheers. He could hear the crowd, but no one's shouts seemed to be louder than his father's.
"That's my boy!" Martin shouted. Scott's teammates surrounded him. "Scott! Scott! Scott! Scott! Scott! Scott!"
Suddenly, sixteen-year old Scott Barringer was aware of somebody shaking him.
"Scott, get up," sixteen-year old Ezra Friedkin said.
"Go away," Scott growled.
"Fine. Miss breakfast. See if I care," Ezra huffed.
"Yeah. It just leaves more for the rest of us," sixteen-year old Augusto "Auggie" Ciceros added.
"Of course, Peter will look for you," Ezra continued. This did the trick. Scott immediately got up and was dressed in minutes. He followed Ezra, Auggie, and the other guys into the mess hall where they got their food. Scott rolled his eyes while he waited to be served. Finally, he took his tray and turned away from the counter.
"Man, I really don't belong here," he sighed. Then went to sit by himself.
