o.o... Omg.. wtf does Neopets think they're doing.. anyways, fanfic idea! Gonna be extremely short but eh.. who cares.
"Marcus! Marcus! Come look at this!! Things are fucking up.. majorly!!" a girl screamed, much to the dismay of the three pets who had changed to mutant. The Meerca threw his tail over his 'hideous' form, shivering slightly, and the Korbat took suit, covering himself with his ragged wings.
Another scream for 'Marcus' and another boy quickly came towards them, stopping in his tracks the moment his eyes fell upon his pets.
"This has been happening all over!" the girl exclaimed, pointing at the group of neopets once more. The only unaffected one, a yellow Kyrii, hid slightly in the corner, now feeling like he didn't belong in the group of his mutated siblings.
The garrl simply stood there, halfway between shock and anger at the way the girl was acting. However, the Korbat simply looked up, locking eyes with his owner.
"..Marcus?" he squeaked. The boy looked almost on the verge to cry as he turned to his sister, answering her questions and adding in his own comments. Seventy grand down the toilet, he thought sadly. The Korbat looked down guiltily, as if he was the one ultimately responsible for his sudden transformation.
It was no secret the Korbat loved his owner very much, and felt bad for what had happened to him. Even though it had been no fault of his own, and he hadn't been the only one for it to happen to.
The Meerca slowly uncurled himself, also looking up at his owner as the boy uttered the words "I'd hate to get rid of Cloud, I've already trained him some." The Meerca's eyes went wide, and filled to the brim with tears. He was thinking of getting rid of him? ..why? He looked down, unable to stare at his owner much longer without having to cry.
The Garrl also looked down, softly growling at the girl's obvious inability to see them as anything more than mear objects. How dare she even ask her brother about the prospect of abandoment?
And so, the four neopets simply waited nerviously for their owner to decide what to do about this.. happening.
But why? Why had they been changed to mutant? Why had so many other pets been changed? Was it going to be fixed? Or would a pet have to be abandoned, to lessen the burden of repainting them all?
I wrote it in like 2 minutes, with no beta of any sort. Just because my brother looked very hurt at the idea of his pets having to be repainted o.o Also, I am sorry about the dumb ass formatting, it's all ffnet's fault.
