A MOTHER'S TOUCH

DISCLAIMERAUTHOR'S NOTE

Hey, everyone! I didn't want you to think that I abandoned Higher Ground! I've just been working on a Power Rangers series. Wish me luck on finals! Oh, right. Higher Ground characters belong to Fox Family, not me.

I walked up to the woman, who was obviously Isaic's mother.

"Mrs. Wilton?" I said, somewhat timidly. "I'm sorry about Isaic," I continued. Mrs. Wilton stared at me with such pain in her eyes. Then, she looked at me sympathetically. It was almost like she could see my pain. She put her hand on my cheek and let it linger. Then, she let her hand drop and walked away. My throat muscles constricted. Her touch. It was a mother's touch. A touch of love, a touch of comfort. So much like a mom. I hadn't been touched like that since the divorce and Dad's remarriage to...her. Her touch made me flinch, but Mrs. Wilton's touch seemed to assure me that things were going to be okay, that I wasn't alone. Man, how I missed that touch. I just wish I could have it again. I wish I could have a mother's touch.
