The woman smiled as one of the men across the tablesized her up skeptically. "By the time you get to the other side, you're frozen stiff like you've just been through a blizzard ... Naked."
"That's a result of the compression your molecules undergo during the millisecond required for reconstitution," she said, slightly smug.
"Oh, here we go, another scientist. General... please."
"Theoretical astrophysicist." she interrupted.
"Which means...?"
"It means she is smarter than you are, Colonel. Especially in matters related to the Stargate." The General said, with finality.
The other two men's chuckles provoked glares from the rest of the table.
"Colonel, I was studying the Gate technology for two years before Daniel Jackson made it work and before you both went through. I should have gone through then. But sir, you and your men might as well accept the fact that I am going through this time."
A bright light suddenly filled the room, followed by a fairly loud thunk on the table.

Got it, yet? If not, all will be explained eventually. Come on, people, tell me what you think. Advice? Criticism? Review, please!
I was writing this during CSI yesterday, so on a completely unrelated note for anyone who may have seen it, I frickin' knew she wasn't going to leave! Ten minutes in I was thinking, 'She wasn't so bad, she's smart, dedicated, and stubborn. Good character, bad role.' Five minutes later, 'Damn Spork!'
Review!
