Chapter 28
They call him Bond, Finnegan Bond
Colin pushed himself up and on to her in one smooth movement. He kissed and touched her body, ever so lightly nearing but never reaching the fun places. He planned on saving those for later. First, he dug his fingers through her hair, cradling her head. He wanted to save it from the hard waxy piano. They weren't known to be that sex friendly. With his other hand, he laid it on her stomach. Soon his kisses became more frantic and anxious, and then some how their clothes were off. It felt like a big blur of feelings and body parts. His mouth on her neck, giving her the chills, or her tensing as he kissed her inner thigh. It was an explosion of the senses.
She pushed against him as he coaxed her closer and closer, until they were one, body, mind and soul. Stephanie felt so full of him that she couldn't breath, her heart aching as he bit her neck, then her breast. It was like torture. Hot, sexy, mind numbing torture. Her body was practically begging him for more.
"Oh God, don't stop." She gasped, her heart ready to jump out of her chest.
"Never, beautiful; I could do this forever." Colin growled, and then picked her up, and pushed her against the wall.
Rory meanwhile was caught in a deep dream, that was coaxing out her inner goddess.
She was in her castle, far a way in a dreamy state, when someone burst through the door.
"I'm sorry to intrude, but I must speak with you, my queen." It was Logan, but somehow he felt different.
"Oh my, sir..." was all she could manage out. She looked in the mirror and was taken aback. She looked like royalty...more so, like a queen. She surveyed her surroundings and confirmed, she was the queen...
"I know this is against all knightly conduct, but you must know my queen..." This knight version of Logan announced. "That I'm so desperately in love with you."
He ran towards her and knelt down on one knee, "My Queen Lorelei..." He started
Rory suddenly couldn't breath. She was
So full of emotions. But the most frequent and painful one was that she didn't want
to let him down. He was so perfect. So amazing. It was too much. What if she couldn't...
Rory woke up in a cold sweat. She coughed and took a sip of water. She felt like she had been punched in the gut. Slowly, she pushed herself up and off of her comfortable bed, and checked her phone. It was dead.
"Ugg" Rory moaned as she scrambled around to look for her charger. It had to be here somewhere.
There was a knock on the door. Rory jumped.
"Come in." She called, standing up from the floor.
"Hey sleeping beauty." Logan grinned as he opened the door."I was just coming to kiss you awake. I'm disappointed...i see I've come too late.
Rory laughed nervously. She had to give it to him, he had a way with words. But she had to get it together. She didn't even know how to function sometimes around him.
"What's wrong?" Logan frowned. He could tell Rory had a lot on her mind.
"Oh nothing." She smiled. "Bad dream."
Rory didn't even know what that dream meant, how would she even try to explain it to him. For now she would keep her thoughts to herself. She was just trying to get through the rest of the week. She didn't need to worry about relationship stuff right now.
"Well come here and let me make it better." He grinned, and started to walk towards her.
"What time is it, Logan." She laughed as she got off the bed, backing away from him.
"Don't worry about it, Ace." He growled staring lustfully at her. "We have all the time in the world.
"But I have to get ready." She laughed as he grabbed her waist and aggressively pulled her close.
He just grinned that ' I knew Finn would blab and tell you' look and kissed her passionately on the lips. She groaned as he bit her lip and she opened her mouth to reciprocate. She ran her hands through his hair and he picked her up, pushing her against the wall. She could feel his heart beat hard against hers. All of a sudden she started to feel really hot. At first she just thought that this display was turning her on. But then she started to panic.
"Logan, wait." Rory said, pulling back from the kiss.
"What's wrong?" He replied, panting.
"I have to tell you something." She replied, hopping down from his arms. She couldn't keep it to herself. Who was she kidding. The guilt was already consuming her.
"Ok?..." He said a little uneasy. "Come. Sit."
He guided her to her bed and then sat down across from her.
"I guess there is no easy way to say this. I mean. I just. I feel like you should probably know. I snuck out this morning. I went to have coffee with Jess." She played with her fingers, fidgeting in her seat.
"What?" Logan croaked, stiffening.
"I needed to get my phone back." She explained, looking up at him.
"Yeah. I remember. You left it in his car. What I'm confused about is why you felt the need to sneak out." Logan expressed, an edge to his voice.
"Finn was being all mother hen like and I didn't want to have to deal with him so I just called and told Jess that I would meet him for coffee." She ranted.
"Ok..." he hesitated, feeling that there was more to this story.
"And we went to this place called 'Jordan's Brew.' The coffee by the way was actually a little lack luster. They didn't even know what an americano was. Isn't that crazy? I mean every barista knows what that is...Like hello, Starbucks? They made that popular. Not that I even like Starbucks but still..."
"Rory! You're ranting. Stop stalling and get to the point." He pleaded. His mind was coming up with all sorts of terrible thoughts. He needed her to just come out with it and put him out of his misery.
"Jess tried to...well he actually...um he he...kissed me."She trembled.
"That mother fucker." Logan growled, standing up. So it was as bad as he thought. Well not as bad but it was close.
"I'm so sorry." Rory gasped, a tear rolling down her cheek.
"I can't be here right now." Logan stood up and walked towards the door, running a hand through his hair.
"Wait Logan, where are you going?" Rory cried, her heart beating fast again.
"I'm going to take a walk."He proclaimed, opening the door and slamming it behind him.
This was bad, Rory thought. Was this it? Were they over now. She started to hyperventilate. Maybe she shouldn't have told him. Oh god, she couldn't lose him. Not for this. Not because of Jess. She just couldn't. She had to do something. But what? She had already done enough damage already. She had to find Steph.
Logan tore down the stairs like a mad man. He wasn't even sure how to process his emotions. He was just so full of rage. He wanted to punch something. Better yet, a certain someone. He needed to walk off all this negative energy. He didn't want to take it out on Rory. Rory. Oh Rory. His mind started to drift to her. Her beautiful eyes. Her soft pouty lips. Her gorgeous chocolate brown hair. The love of his life. His everything. The fact that someone would try to take advantage of her sweetness, her kind spirit. She was so empathetic and compassionate. And he used that. Jess. He took advantage.
Logan stormed though the foyer and into one of the sitting rooms. It had beautiful dark grey marble floors with grand ceilings. The walls painted a delicate blush color. He barreled past an alluring white loveseat and escaped through massive French doors. He stuffed his hands in his black pant pockets and started to follow the path to the flower gardens toward the edge of the mansion property. He was very familiar with the grounds, growing up with Colin. The five founding families were all very close. Well most of them anyway. A while back when Logan was still small, around six or seven, his family had a falling out with the Gilmores. It had something to do with Lorelai. He didn't remember the particulars but there was a lot of scandal around her getting pregnant and disappearing the way she did. After that he stopped seeing them at their dinners.
Logan opened a big metal gate and slipped inside. There were flowers everywhere. Roses on his left, at least twenty different varieties. And to his right, everything else. There was scads of different breeds, from Gerber daisies to gorgeous plumeria, there was literally everything you could imagine. There was a towering greenhouse towards the back of the garden, for all of the exotic high maintenance plants. He walked up to a iron bench in the middle of the space and sunk down.
But what if she didn't want to be with him anymore. What if that's why she told him. Because she still had feelings for HIM. Logan put his head in his hands. That thought killed him. Absolutely destroyed him. The thought of not being with her. Not seeing her. Not touching her. He knew Jess still had a hold on her. There was something still there with them. He could feel it. If he had any real chance of being with her, he had to let her figure it out. He couldn't do it for her. She had to choose.
"There you are!" Someone exclaimed, making Logan jump out of his skin.
"Finnegan! What the Hell. You almost gave me a heart attack!"
"Sorry, Mate! But I've been looking for you! I can't bloody well find anyone and it's almost ten!" Finn strolled up to his best friend and sat next to him on the bench. "What's wrong, bloke? You ok?"
"Yeah. I'm just pissed. Rory told me what happened and I just freaked out and left. I needed some air. I just don't want to lose her, you know?" Logan lamented. Her face tormenting his mind. She looked so upset when he left. He felt bad that he didn't stay and work it out but he felt like he couldn't breath. He just had to get out of there. Plus he didn't want to say anything that he would regret.
"She did?" Finn asked surprised. He thought she didn't want anyone to know. "Well good because after the party tonight, I may have blabbed anyway. It was too good not to share. But that doesn't make me a gossip."
"Wait? So you knew? Who else knows? Colin? Steph? The whole damn LDB?" Logan balled his fists.
"Logan, I don't see why this is such a big deal. It wasn't like she was going to do anything. And you knew that this may happen. Well not the kiss exactly but.."Finn started.
"The kiss... the kiss was a huge damn deal! I'm surprised that you aren't as livid as I am? You hate that repulsive rat, Jess, more than I do!" Logan yelled.
"Wait. Whatchu mean, Jess? I thought we were talking about Laverne?" Finn stumbled.
"Who the hell is Laverne?" Logan growled.
"The lady cop that pulled Reporter girl over for her challenge a little while ago. Wait, did Jess kiss Rory? Finn choked.
"Yeah earlier. I guess Rory snuck out to meet him to get her phone back and he tried to make his move." Logan said bitterly.
"I'm going to KILL him." Finn bellowed, jumping to his feet. He started to sprint to the garden gate.
"Finn!" Logan called after the determined Aussie, whisking after him. "Finn, stop. God seriously, man! STOP!"
"No, Huntz! I was afraid this might happen! I bloody well told you it would! But no! You had to trust her! Jess is scum! He must be ended!" Finn ranted dramatically, shaking his fists.
"I do trust her!" Logan replied. "Rory always does the right thing. Maybe that's why she told me. Because she wants to be with him."
"Pish! Over my dead body!"
"Finn!"
"And besides, she told you because she is honest. That doesn't mean she wants that degenerate!"
"I hope so."
"I know so."
"But it's up to her to decide. I can't force her to be with me." Logan said, following his friend onto the covered patio.
"I can!" Finn proclaimed, opening the French doors and walking into the sitting room Logan went through earlier.
"Promise me that you will let me deal with this. Finn look at me." Finn stopped and turned around to look at his blond childhood friend.
"Please." Logan asked.
"FINE! Against my better judgement!" He griped.
"Thank you!" Logan sighed.
They walked through the room and back through one of the dark ballrooms. As they entered the main one, they heard many voices of the other LDBers laughing and carrying on.
"BOYS! There you are!" Stephanie called, running up to them. We were just starting to worry.
"Sorry Steph. We were having a little heart to heart. Logan here was telling me how, out of all his mates, I'm the coolest, most spectacular, amazing one!" Finn grinned, winking and the blond.
"Ha Ha nice try, Finny. We don't have time to debate that, so we'll save it for later. Right now, we have more important matters to attend to. Come on!" She sang, pulling them up and onto the stage.
Colin was waiting for them as well, nursing a glass of champagne. He looked blissfully peaceful and relaxed. Logan glanced over at his usually uptight friend with a slight frown. Something was different. His friend looked like he was almost...glowing.
"Why do you look like that." Logan narrowed his eyes at the Rockefeller.
"Like what?" Colin replied innocently.
"Happy." The blond accused.
"Can't a man be happy? It's a good day! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, the world is peaceful. Why are you raining on my parade, man?" Colin laughed.
"First of all, the sun set hours ago, the birds are all sleeping, and we are far off from world peace. And was that... a Barbra Streisand reference?... Oh. My. God!" Logan gasped.
"What? What did I miss?" Colin furrowed his eyebrows.
"You had sex with Stephanie didn't you?!" Logan looked at his friend, wide eyed.
"What!? I! Well...Shush!" He hushed.
"Hello everyone!" Stephanie said into the mic suddenly, distracting the two boys. "Welcome back. Has everyone got something to drink?"
The crowd of brigadiers murmured and woo'd to show that they were already buzzed.
"Great! Now let's bring Rory out!" Stephanie signaled to Finn and he disappeared into the foyer and came back with the doe eyed brunette. He positioned her right in the center of the room facing the founding members. He then grabbed a glass of champagne and returned to the stage with the other three.
"Rory." Colin took over. "We have heard that you successfully accomplished the Rothschild challenge. Is that correct?"
"Yes it is." She replied.
"And what may I ask, was Martin Rothschild's favorite drink?" Colin asked.
"Scotch on the Rocks." She answered.
"Yes it was. Now what was the point of this challenge?" Finn questioned her.
"To live in the moment. Live every day as your last. To not be afraid that you can't accomplish something." She stated confidently.
"Very well said, love. Finn smiled.
"Yes Rory, well done!" Stephanie chimed in.
But please promise me one thing." Finn continued, looking a little more serious.
"And what's that?" Rory asked.
"Never drink and drive again. That's actually quite dangerous and I'm surprised that you actually did it." Finn laughed.
"You guys made me!" Rory gasped, her mouth agape.
"And that's another thing! Never give in to peer pressure! If someone told you to steal a panda and sneak it into a bar, would you?" Finn replied seriously.
"Of course not! But Finn, that does sound oddly specific." Rory laughed.
"That's neither here nor there." He replied.
"Well..."
"And now for tonight's festivities!" Finn interrupted.
"Yes. Tonight we have something very special planned for you." Logan chimed in.
"This club is all about fellowship." Stephanie explained. "We consider each other as family. So in honor of that, we have something for you.
Logan grabbed a few pieces of paper and walked down to Rory. As he handed them to her, their eyes met. But only for a second. He quickly shifted back up the stairs and to the other founding members.
He hates me, Rory thought. She looked down at the pages that Logan had given to her and sighed. Well at least she told the truth. Whatever happens after this, it was meant to be. She read the words on the first page. It said:
'Making loyal friends that live in the moment, fight for justice, and last a lifetime; that is true intelligence.'
Then there were a list of names with a couple spaces in between.
"If you have noticed Love, every brigadier is listed on those pages. It is your responsibility to find each one and ask them this simple question; why did you join the life and death brigade?" Finn announced, looking around at the audience.
"Then write down their response. This will help you get to know everyone here a little better." Stephanie finished.
"While this is going on, there will be food drinks and music! So without further ado, everyone, in Omni a Paratus!" Logan yelled, raising up a glass of champagne.
"In Omni a Paratus!" The brigadiers cheered.
The music started to play and everyone started to walk around, some grabbed food while others hunted for a drink. Robert strolled up to the young Gilmore casually and handed her a drink.
"So Rory, how do you like everything so far?" Robert smirked, checking her out.
"Oh everyone has been great!" She gushed. "Hey by the way, why did you join the LDB?"
"Well that is an excellent question..." He mused, regaling her with his story. Meanwhile, Stephanie started to drift back to what had happened between her and her best friend a couple hours ago.
Flashback
"Oh my God, Col. What the hell was that?" Stephanie breathed, sinking onto the brown leather couch in the study.
"That, was ten years of build up..." Colin grinned, flopping down next to her.
Stephanie laughed and stretched her arms over her head. "Ten years, huh?"
"Give or take." He grinned.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" She snuggled closer to him.
"Ha! Easy for you to say! Look at you." Colin met her gaze.
"What do you mean?"
"You're beautiful, intelligent, witty; You're perfect. Way out of my league." He returned, lightly stroking her hair.
"Colin..." Stephanie whispered and her eyes softened. That was the nicest thing a boy had ever said to her.
They lay like that for a while, fingers intertwined. They didn't speak, just enjoyed the moment. It felt like a dream. It was as if time stood still. All of a sudden the door opened and Rory fell in.
"Oof." She groaned, her body hitting the ground with a big thump. "I'll never get used to those trick doors."
"Rory?" The love birds said in unison, Colin quickly grabbed the throw from the back of the couch. He covered Stephanie and himself in one quick movement.
"Hey guys what's...Oh My God." She exclaimed as she picked herself up from the floor, realizing what she had stumbled upon.
"Hey girly. Uh... funny seeing you here. You want a drink?" Stephanie said awkwardly.
"You guys actually did it. No frick'n way?! I can't wait till the others find out. Finn is going to lose his mind! And Logan..." Rory stopped abruptly. The thoughts of what just happened between the two of them flooded back into her mind. Her heart dropped a bit. Where had he gone? She had gone out to look for him a couple of minutes after he left, but he was no where to be found. She then decided to look for Stephanie. She went to her room and found it empty. So she decided to go look around some more to take her mind off of Logan. Well she found Stephanie all right. But this was the last thing she expected.
"Rory are you ok?" Stephanie asked, seeing her friend's furrowed brows.
"I told Logan about Jess and the coffee shop fiasco. I felt too guilty not to. And he freaked out. He said that he needed to go on a walk." Her voice wavered.
"I'm sorry, girly! That sucks!" The blond frowned.
"I'm sure Logan just needed to blow off some steam." Colin sympathized.
"Yeah it's just, I've never seen him so livid!" Rory expressed, tears threatening to fall down her cheeks.
"Oh honey, it will be ok! Come sit with us!" Stephanie patted the seat next to her.
"Aah, I love you guys, but not that much." She laughed, pointing out their still very naked under the blanket ness.
"Oh haha right. Well know that I love you." The Vanderbilt giggled.
Stephanie came out of her day dream and looked over at the young Huntzberger. He was mingling with Rosemary, and some of the other LDB'ers. She hoped that he had calmed down a bit. She knew that he and Rory were meant to be together. She just hoped that he wouldn't do anything rash. Like tell Finn. That would probably be the worst thing he could do. By the way speaking of which, where was her gorgeous Australian friend? She scanned the room and found that he had vanished. She walked up to Logan and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around.
"Hey Steph. What's up?" He questioned.
"Have you seen Finny anywhere? I wanted to talk to him." She asked.
Logan scanned the room. "No actually. I don't see him."
"Hummm. That's weird. Ok well, I guess I'll look for him later. By the way...how are you? Rory told me that she told you about the coffee shop." She touched his arm.
"She did."
"Look Huntzberger, it was totally one sided. She freaked out when he kisses her, yelled and stormed out." Stephanie defended.
"How do you know, Steph?" Logan said, a little irritated.
"Because my dear boy, I was there." She countered.
"You were? What was it, like a double date or something?"
"What are you talking about? Stephanie asked, taken aback.
"I know about you and Colin." Logan raised his eyebrows.
"How did you find out already? It literally just happened." Stephanie cocked her head to the side.
"Are you kidding?" Logan laughed. "It was written all over his face.
"Well um...yes we did." Stephanie confessed, blushing a little.
"Good for you guys. I'm really happy for you both." Logan hugged her.
"Yeah, I'm pretty happy as well. He asked me to go to breakfast earlier. We happened to go to the same coffee shop." She explained.
"Jordan's Brew." Logan grimaced.
"Look, Logan. You have got to talk to her." Stephanie said.
"Steph, I appreciate your concern but I kinda need some time. If I don't calm down first, I think I may go find Jess and kill the guy." Logan ranted.
"Alright. Just don't wait too long, hon." She rubbed his arm lovingly." AND whatever you do, do not tell Finnegan. You know how rash he is.
"Uhh about that." Logan muttered.
"You did not!" Stephanie gasped.
"I didn't mean to! He just caught me right after it's happened. It just slipped out."
"We need to find him...NOW!" She yelled.
"The two walked over to the wait staff and asked if anyone had seen the Rothschild anywhere. They all shook their heads. They went out to the valet staff and asked the same question. They looked at their car service log and noticed that a car for one 'Bond, James" had been taken out about five minutes ago.
"James Bond?" The said together.
"Oh no...that's Finn's alter ego." Logan groaned.
"We need to find out where he went like... now!" Stephanie exclaimed. "Go get Rory. NOW!"
I would love to know what you guys think. Please leave me a review. I have to say, Finn is a lot of fun to write lol.
