muie5: Alright. Here it is...

Inuyasha: Another chapter of torture?

muie5: Hey! You didn't die now did you?

Sesshomaru: That would have been more entertaining.

Kurama: Okay enough. muie5, you should contnue before a fight breaks out.

I do now own Yu Yu Hakusho or Inuyasha. But I do own Shine and Yume.

Chapter 14: The Last Night in the Castle

-The Next Day-

Yusuke got up and went to see if Hiei was doing fine. When he opened the door, there was Kurama asleep on the floor with his head on Hiei's bedside. With that Yusuke walked out of the room while shutting the door, quietly.

Kuwabara meet Yusuke as the top of the stairs, and made their way down to the entrance hall.

"I'll cook breakfast," Kuwabara volunteered as he made his way to the kitchen.

Yusuke grabbed Kuwabara's collar, which made Kuwabara fall to the ground on his back.

"What was that for!" yelped Kuwabara as he sat up.

"We don't want the castle to burn down. Plus, I don't want your cooking," Yusuke answered, looking down at his friend.

"I'll cook," Kagome offered as she walked into the kitchen.

-With Rin-

Rin woke up to the morning sun. As she sat up in her bed, all the memories of the previous night came flooding into her mind. She scrabbled to her feet and quickly threw on some clothes. Rin bust threw her door and ran to Sesshomaru's room.

As she came closer to Sesshomaru room, Rin slowed down her run to a stride. With one knock she asked, "Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin asked from outside the door.

No answer came forth. Rin then ran to my room and opened the door without a knock. Sesshomaru turned his head to see who was there from where he sat at my bedside.

"Is…is Sister Shine alright?" Rin asked, looking at me.

"She hasn't moved a muscle all night," Sesshomaru answered.

With that I cracked my eyes open, but my vision was very blurry. All I could see was the light of the early day sun. Sesshomaru turned back to me sensing my slight movement. I felt something move on the edge of the bed I was on.

"Sesshomaru, is that you?" I asked, staring up at my ceiling, unwilling to move my head for the fear of making whatever was going on worse.

"Yes, Shine. I'm here," Sesshomaru answered me.

I opened my eyes all the way and started to sit up. Sesshomaru helped me sit up against the head of the bed. I placed my hand on his, before he moved it.

"I would like to go downstairs to see everyone. It would be nice to see how they are doing after everything," I requested as I turned my gaze to where I thought Sesshomaru would be.

Sesshomaru helped me out of bed and down the hallway with no fight. Rin followed us every step of the way to make sure we made it safe. We walked down the stairs with a little trouble since I still had trouble seeing. Halfway down the stairs, I slipped. My feet only slipped down two steps before Sesshomaru caught me.

"Thank you, Sesshomaru," I thanked him with a smile.

Sesshomaru walked down the rest of the staircase making sure that all my weight was on him. As we made it to the bottom of the stairs, I placed my hand on Sesshomaru's chest. He stopped for a second in order to look down at me.

"Give me a second," I requested as I blinked my eyes a few times.

My vision started to come back slowly, but enough for me to see shapes and colors. I removed my hand from his chest and stopped leaning on him. We continued into the dinning quarters were everyone else was sitting around the table.

"Good! You're awake," Miroku praised as he got to his feet to greet us.

"Thank you," I said with a smile.

"Sit down," Sango requested, pulling out the chair to the right of her and to the right of Sesshomaru's chair.

I nodded 'thank you' and sat down. Rin jumped up onto the chair to the left of Sesshomaru as he took his seat.

"Where is Kurama and Hiei?" I asked, looking at the two empty chairs beside Kuwabara and Yusuke.

"Both are asleep," Yusuke answered.

-In Kurama and Hiei's Room-

Hiei woke up and looked to the left side of his bed as he felt heat coming from there.

"Fox? What is he doing?" Hiei thought with surprise. Then Hiei took a closer look. "He's asleep. I'll let him continue," Hiei thought, quietly getting off the bed, and left the room the same way.

Once Hiei got to the stairs he felt a shock of pain go up his spine causing him to fall down the stairs. This made a loud noise which woke Kurama up. Kurama immediately noticed that Hiei was missing. It did not take long for Kurama to make it to the stop of the stairs. He looked down to where Hiei lay at the bottom of the steps. He ran down the stairs and knelt next to Hiei.

"Are you alright, Hiei?" Kurama asked, helping him sit up.

"I hate those stairs," Hiei hissed.

Kurama helped Hiei to the dinning quarters.

"If it isn't the demon pair. What was with the noise?" Kuwabara asked, showing his stupidity again.

"Nothing," Kurama answered, helping Hiei to the chair next to Yusuke.

Kurama took his seat between Kuwabara and Hiei. Everyone ate in peace, obviously worn out for the previous night's fight. We all look battered and weary, even after the night's sleep we all received. After everyone was done eating, Rin took the plates into the kitchen. With that everyone went outside.

Shippo and Rin ran after Kirara as they have come accustom to. Sango, Miroku, Hiei and Kurama were all talking lightheartedly. Sesshomaru and I were talking away from the group. Yusuke and Kuwabara were talking about nonsense while Inuyasha and Kagome joined Miroku and Sango.

Kurama looked up at the sky to see something coming towards them, "We have a visitor."

The sky blue haired girl landed next to Kurama. She wore a bright kimono that brought out her pink eyes. She held the oar she rode in on, in her hands as everyone turned their attention to her.

"Hey!" Botan greeted overly perky, "I have news for you guys. It appears you have taken down Naraku. You have completed your mission, and it now time to return home," Botan announced to her group.

"Right," Yusuke agreed as he got to his feet.

"It's also time for me to get back to my time," I added, walking over to them with Sesshomaru at my side.

"We'll walk you to the Field of Time," Kurama suggested as he got to his own feet

Rin walked over to me and tugged on my red and blue kimono. I looked down at her sad face. The whole situation broke my heart, but looking down at her, it just made my broken heart ache.

"Can you stay with us forever?" Rin asked, sweetly.

"I wish I could, but I can't. Now that Naraku is dead, all of my friends and family are back. They'll be worried if I just go missing," I explained, looking sadly up at Sesshomaru.

Sesshomaru nodded slightly. "I hate to let her go, though," thought Sesshomaru sadly.

"Well, I guess we better get you home…right?" Kuwabara clarified, sadness in his question.

"Yeah…" Kurama, Sesshomaru, and Rin agreed sorrowfully.

I ran into the castle and came back out a few minutes later with my clothes I wore the first day I came here.

"Ready?" Kuwabara asked.

I nodded solemnly before I forced myself to start to walk. Everyone, even Botan, followed me. Kurama and Sesshomaru walked on either side of me while Hiei was next to Kurama. The Inuyasha gang was behind us with Botan in front of me while walking backwards. Yusuke and Kuwabara were in front of everyone while Rin was between Sesshomaru and myself.

"How did you get here in the first place?" Botan questioned.

"Portal," I answered.

"Cool! How did you meet everyone?"

"I was forced to come by…" I was cut off in mid-sentence.

"No more questions," Sesshomaru ordered.

Rin and I smiled at Sesshomaru. By this time, I had forgotten why we were all walking together. Everything melted away from me as I just enveloped myself in the happiness I felt at the moment.

"I can't believe Naraku is actually dead," Inuyasha stated.

"I'm just glad he is," Miroku confessed, holding his bare right hand.

Shippo and Sango nodded in agreement.

-Three Hours Later-

We reached the Field of Time and walked into the middle of it.

"Shibaraku desu ne. Touhou ushiro izuko hon'in dezaia," I chanted.
(A/N: It says, "It's been a while. Send me back. Home is where I desire.")

"You must have been working on that for a while," Sesshomaru implied, looking me straight in the eyes.

"I wrote it when I first got to the castle. I wanted to go back so bad…I was planning to sneak out one night, come here, and go back home. Now...I don't…I don't want to go. I really do want to stay," I confessed with tears coming to the surface.

"You must. I know all too well how human mothers worry about their children. Mine worries about me all the time," Kurama protested, looking at me with a smile that masked his own pain.

"You're right. I have to go back," I agreed, tears coming to the corners of my eyes.

The black circle was now ten foot by ten foot and ready to be used. Everyone said "bye" to me, except Sesshomaru, Rin, Hiei, and Kurama.

"Shine, I'll miss you," Kurama admitted, giving me one last hug.

"You are okay…for a human, that is," Hiei stated with his arms crossed in front of him.

"That is as close to a 'good-bye' from him as you will get," Kurama translated.

I laughed for a second then stopped, "Thank you, Hiei."

"Can I come and see you once in a while, Sister Shine?" Rin asked.

"I don't think you can," I quivered, sadly looking down to her.

Sesshomaru bent down to Rin and whispered something to her. Rin smiled really big as Sesshomaru stood back up. I looked over to him a bit confused.

"Well I guess I better go," I finally gave in, walking to the portal.

I put one foot in then looked back at Sesshomaru. My heart sank at the thought that I would never see him again. "Bye, Sesshomaru," I thought sadly.

I waved bye to everyone as they waved back to me. I turned back around and went through the portal.

-Back in My Time-

I landed on my butt back in the field, "Am I back?"

"SHINE! SHINE! THERE YOU ARE!" yelled a girl with long black hair that showed silver highlights. Her golden eyes shined in the afternoon sun. The small purple strip across is left cheek gave a small glimmer as a scar would in the light

"It's Yume! I must be back!" I thought happily. "Hi, Yume!" I called back.

She came to a stop in front of me. She put her hands on her knees while breathing really hard. I could not help but smile at her.

"I have…been looking all…over for you. Why are you here?" Yume inquired, now getting her breathing back to normal.

Just then I remember what I had left behind. I looked behind me with overwhelming hope that the portal would still me there. Everything inside me wanted to run right back through it. I wanted to run into Sesshomaru's arms, give everyone the first smile of many, because I would stay with them forever. But, just as I had thought, my hopes came crashing down as the portal was gone.

I bent my head down as a single tear rolled down my cheek, "Long story. Let's get out of here."

Yume held out her hand to me as I wiped the tear away. I grabbed her hand and she helped me up. She and I started walking back towards the town.

"I miss them already," I thought has my heart sank more and more.

"Shine, do you think I look weird?" Yume asked, looking to me.

"Not this again! Of course n…" I stopped when I looking at her.

"What is it?" Yume asked, stopping.

"I never noticed it…" I thought with surprise. "You don't look weird at all," I answered, smiling.

We continued to walk to the town.

-In Feudal Japan-

"Well, we got to get going to," Botan reminded her team.

The Inuyasha group started to walk off to the east, and the spirit detective group walked to the north while Sesshomaru and Rin stood there.

"You promise, Lord Sesshomaru?" Rin asked, looking up at him.

Sesshomaru gave a slight nod. With that Rin and Sesshomaru started walking back to the castle.

-3 Years Later-

"Stupid game!" I yelled, almost ready to throw my gaming controller.

I no longer had my long hair. It is now up to my shoulders. I've grown some since I came back. I am almost six inches taller now. School has been going great as I enter into my senior year of school. Within the past three year, I even made some new friends. The time I spent in Feudal Japan was a suppressed memory now. It is as if it were all just a dream. At first, I could barely function due to the complete and overwhelming sadness I felt. It took a while, but I put it all in the past. Whether is was a dream or reality, I had to move on or get crushed by my depression caused by the whole thing. So, I convinced myself it was just a dream.

I even wrote down all that I could remember into a journal. During Sophomore year, I even had enough courage to enter it as a fictional story. It won me a contest. But after having to read it over and over again, I put it away and never looked at it since.

So I pressed the restart button on the playstation in front of me, "Let's see if I can get this level done."

Just as the start up screen was coming onto the TV, there was a knock on the front door, which was to the right of where I was sitting on the floor in front of the T.V. I tripped over my overly baggy pants and fell on my face. I quickly got back up and ran to the door. I opened it while looking down at my dirty shirt. I had no where to go today and no one to impress so I was wearing my junkie clothes. When I looked up, I dropped the game cheats I held in my left hand. I cupped my mouth with both hands.
