Christmas Presents

"ROY! WHERE'S MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT?"

Snow was drifting outside the windows of the Mustang home. A blonde boy was carrying out his usual Christmas routine. And this Christmas routine was, well, jumping up and down on the couch at four o'clock in the morning and yelling the whole house down. It was surprising that the couch was not wrecked after so much suffering. It was even more surprising that the other occupant of this house was not deafened by his housemate.

A raven-haired man came yawning down the stairs. "Ah, good morning, Fullmetal."

"Roy, where's my Christmas present?" the blonde repeated impatiently.

"I think you ought to be the one to give me my Christmas present first this year," Roy said.

"You can't change the routine!" Edward argued.

"I can. For goodness sake, Edward, I'm the dominant one in this relationship, not you."

"Why can't I be the dominant one in the relationship then?" Edward asked, pouting.

"How many times do I have tell you, Fullmetal?" Roy said with exasperation. "You're too short."

A glare, but nothing else. No usual who-are-you-calling yell.

"Come on, Edward, give me my Christmas present."

"Well, at least tell me what you've got for me first," Edward said.

"Hmm... Okay. I bought you one hundred bottles of milk and you must finish them before tomorrow morning."

"WHAT? YOU BOUGHT ME A HUNDRED BOTTLES OF THAT HORRIBLE WHITE LIQUID WHEN I BOUGHT YOU A RING?" Edward yelled, outraged.

Roy smirked. "You bought me a ring?"

Edward clapped his hand to his mouth, realizing he had let it slip. "You bastard," he growled. "Playing such a dirty trick on me."

"Such tricks always work on you, Edward. You never learn, not matter how many times that trick is played on you." Roy sighed. "Show me the ring."

Edward took out a small box from his pocket and tossed it over to Roy. "There ya go. Merry Christmas."

Roy opened the box. Inside was a beautiful black stone with white spots on it, on a glittering silver band.

"Is this a snowflake obsidian stone?" Roy asked, examining the ring with much interest.

"Yeah. It's a pretty common stone, but it's the colour of your eyes," Edward said quietly.

"Thanks, Ed."

"Now for my present," Edward demanded.

Roy whipped out a similiar small box from his back pocket and held it out in a much more graceful manner than Edward's. "Merry Christmas, Edward." Edward took the box, looking at it incredulously. "You bought me a ring too?" he asked, opening the box. His hands were trembling in excitement as he flipped the lid open, for he knew what was inside.

A gleaming golden band sat on a black cushion. It was plain, with no stones to make it look prettier. But it was pretty enough on its own self. It was made of pure gold.

Edward's eyes.

The receiver of this gift stared at it in awe.

"Thank you, Roy," he said breathlessly. "Thank you."

A/N: Thought of this while looking at some stones. There was a snowflake obsidian stone, and I thought it was beautiful, then I thought of Roy, and then the idea for this drabble came to me. Some parts of this drabble are meant to be slightly funny; I hope I managed to make you laugh. I'm not that good at writing humour. Anyway, please read & review!
