Shikamaru's off with that girl from the Hidden Sand again and everyone is acting like Ino should be jealous. She'd never really thought about it that way before, but lately she's begun to.

"What do you think being in love actually is?" she asks Sakura one day, both of them sitting with their legs hanging off the bridge as they stare into the water.

Sakura snorts and halfheartedly throws a pebble into her reflection, "Love is for the fools who can afford to fall behind." she says bitterly, and Ino makes a note to never speak the name 'Sasuke Uchiha' between them again.
