Disclaimer: Don't Own RENT.

Author's Note: Just some tercets (three stanzas that all rhyme) about the story of our favorite bohemians. Wrote this kind of quick, and some of the rhymes are kind of bad, as I'm not the best rhymer.

Please review. No flames.

RENT: Tercets

They didn't know how they could pay their rent

Benny was about to wipe out a city of tents

But fortunately, out on the street, Mark and Roger were not sent

On her drums, Angel played some tunes

And then cleaned up Collins's wounds

She had a Life Support meeting to go to soon

Mimi knocked on Roger's door

Asked him to light her candle and maybe more

But she dropped her stash on the floor

Maureen had dumped Mark for Joanne

So now, of Joanne, Mark wasn't a fan

Until he knew, tango, they both can

Mimi came by again that night

Asked Roger to take her out tonight

But instead, he put up a fight

"Another day", Roger screamed

"No day but today!" said Meems

He was going to tell her, or so it seemed

Maureen's protest wasn't half bad

She sang of a dream she never had

Of a place called Cyberland that really wasn't so rad

Now onto the Life Café

For a tea, Mark usually can't pay

But they could on the night before Christmas Day

Angel killed Benny's puppy

But Benny was very much a yuppie

Who married a girl they all called "Muffy"

Mark sang the most

And to "La Vie Boheme" he made a toast

None of them could probably afford a roast

Eventually Angel passed on

And now over Collins, she could not fawn

In her life, she had done no wrong

Roger left for Santa Fe

To search for the song that may

Bring him one blaze of glory someday

Mark hated working for Buzzline

And sometimes he did whine

He missed Roger, you could bet on a dime

Roger came back, and he realized why

He could not let Mimi die

He sang her his song about her eyes

She said Angel told her to come back

And they all knew that was a fact

Let's hope she doesn't go back to smack

Yes, there are 525,600 minutes in a year

They had to yell for the waiters to bring them wine and beer

And they've all shed many a tear

The End
