"Go fish."
Knuckles glared at him and grabbed a card off the stack in the middle of the table. It was Shadow's kitchen table actually, and all of his, er, friends were gathered round it. They were celebrating Shadow's 17th/52nd birthday, and everyone had been surprised when he suggested a game of Strip Go Fish.
Not as surprised as they'd been when he answered the door in three layers of clothing, however.
Rouge stifled a yawn as Knuckles removed his last remaining sock, grumbling all the while. "Stupid hedgehogs, stupid cards, stupid-"
"Knuckles," Rouge said, clearly bored. "You're out. Just shut up. If you wore more clothes in the first place, maybe someone else would've lost before you."
"Whose turn is it?" Said Amy, eying Sonic with a wolfish grin. The blue hedgehog fidgeted, wishing he'd worn a jacket at least. Maybe extra socks.
"Tails," Came Shadow's deep voice, still with an unmistakably amused undertone to it. "It's his turn."
Tails was doodling blueprints on his napkin. He didn't look up until Amy, sitting next to him, flicked him on the arm.
"Ow! What was that for?" He looked around and blinked. "Oh. Um." The fox looked down at his cards.
"Uh... got any threes?"
One hour, thirty-eight minutes, nine seconds and three bags of potato chips later...
Shadow was sweating visibly now. The only other players left were
Amy and Rouge, who had miraculously managed to keep most of their
clothing on. Shadow was down to a pair of pants.
Amy glanced at her cards and looked up at Rouge. "Got any fives?"
Rouge shook her head. "Go fish."
Amy sighed, delicately selecting a card and adding it to her hand.
She removed her headband and placed it on the very small pile on the
floor next to her. Knuckles rolled his eyes from across the table.
"Wooo. Take it all off."
"Say that again and you'll be sorry," Amy snapped. "It's your turn, Shadow."
The ultimate life form, who was unfortunately not the ultimate card player, looked around desperately.
"Amy. Do you have any twos?"
The pink hedgehog shook her head, grinning at the same time as Rouge.
"Go fish."
