And He Was Gone

The night was dark,

The sky was blue,

I looked above and thought of you.

How your death came far too quick,

It wasn't a disease, you weren't sick,

I thought of your beautiful green eyes

And how I didn't get to say goodbye.

As the sky gets dark like a blanket all around,

I hear the crickets' soft chirping sound,

I miss your voice; I miss your touch,

I wish I told you how I loved you so much.

Its far too late, your death is done,

It's hard to accept but I know you're gone,

You're never coming back; it gives me so much pain,

It's far too horrible it's driving me insane.

Your laughter, which was as light as the air,

Which kept me happy whether here or there,

I still hear it when the wind whispers in my ear,

"The body is gone but the spirit is here"

I'm so happy, my tears overflow,

I miss you so much; I didn't want you to go,

Crying does nothing to the pain in my heart,

You're in heaven we're so far apart.

I long for you, for your familiar voice,

Which made you stand out from all the boys,

All these years, I never got to say,

I love you, not once, not a single day.

My love is still strong,I still love you more

I remember our walk,our strolls near the lake

I still see your face,it lights at dawn

And I still feel you are here,even if you're gone.
