Artemis lay in bed, holding Holly close to him. The sheets were draped across their bare bodies as Holly slept peacefully and Artemis watched her. She was really beautiful. He didn't know why he was doing this. They had ended up in bed, Holly had been drunk, Artemis had been pretending to be.

Flashback

"Oh God Artemis." Holly laughed. "Your jokes are terrible, really bad, I don't get any of them" She slurred a little. They were at the welcome home celebration party for their little group. You would think they were coming back from vacation, not a different dimension. Artemis had spiked Holly's drink with rice wine, she was hammered after a glass.

"I'm not joking Holly, I love you." He said, bluntly. He would never have had the courage to say this if he thought she would remember it in the morning. Really it was wrong. They were different species really. 'We are both humanoid, and have the same number of chromosomes, it really isn't that bad' he thought. He knew he was kidding himself, she would live for so much longer than he would, their species didn't get along, and there were so many other barriers.

Holly looked at him from half closed eyes. "You do, do you?" She said sleepily. "Than prove it" she challenged. So he did.

End Flashback

He sighed. He shouldn't have done it, he really shouldn't have, but he couldn't help it. He sighed again, a little louder, but quieted quickly when he saw Holly stir in her sleep. He remembered when he took what he wanted, schemed and didn't give a shit what other people wanted or needed. "Damn you Holly, you turned me into a good person." he said.

She turned over. "A good person who gets drunk and sleeps with an elf." she grinned slyly.

He blushed. "I didn't know you were awake."

She grinned. "You weren't drunk, were you?"

"No." He said, ashamed.

"Me neither." she laughed at the astonished look on his face.

"Go back to sleep." He told her.

"We have to deal with this, with everything." She said seriously.

"In the morning." Artemis soothed. "Sleep."

"Fine." She rolled over and was instantly asleep.

"Fine." He said, but stayed awake to watch her a bit longer.

I don't own it
