Like my mom says, i so need to find something better to do with my time. lol. Well, here's another story. I hope you like it, its kin da sad, i'm in a kinda sad mood lately i guess.
Years. It had been years since Sam had driven this road. Sam had always hoped he would be back here; he'd always wanted to see them again. They were kind people, good people, but they had shut the brothers out first, so they stayed gone. The fight so many years ago when Jo had snuck away to join them on a hunt and became a victim in the hunt. He never forgot that day, the look on Dean's face when he turned around after talking to Jo. The sadness in his eyes and how he just climbed in to the car and said 'let's go' while Jo walked off in the opposite direction.

Sam had never gotten it out of his brother what the fight was about. He had a feeling it had something to do with their dad because for days afterwards whenever Sam would mention him Dean flinched and looked off in any direction that wasn't directly at Sam. But he never said anything; Dean never did, not even with his dying breath.

Flashback

The creature had grabbed Dean and tore its claws into his chest before flinging him backwards against the cement wall. Sam cried out for his brother, but tried to focus on killing this eveil son of a bitch. He fired the gun at it, hitting it in three spots with sliver bullets. In its head once and twice to the heart. It writhed and screamed before crumbling to a puddle of black goo on the floor.

"Sam" Dean gasped, as blood spilled out of several wounds on his body and blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

"I'm here Dean, I'm here ok. We need to get you to a hospital man." Sam said, panicked, trying to stem the bleeding with anything he could get his hands on.

"No." Dean said weakly pushing Sam's hands away from his wounds. "Too…..late."

One hand reached up to his neck to grab the gold charm on the chain. He yanked on it until the tie came undone. He held it up to Sam.

"Give…..to…..Jo." He gasped. "Tell.…her….I…..loved….her." His head lolled to one side and Sam cried knowing his brother was gone.

Sam pulled the Impala to a stop in front of the Roadhouse. It was around 9pm and there were plenty of cars out front. He walked up to the door, stopping before going in. He saw Ellen first, who looked at him with a completely confused look. He turned his head to look over towards the tables where he saw Jo taking someone order. He walked up to her and placed a hand one her shoulder. She spun around to look at him.

"Sam?"

He took her hand silently and placed the necklace in it, closing her hand around it. He only stood there a minute more before walking back out the door, getting into the Impala and driving off.

Jo looked at her hand in shock, she'd seen this charm somewhere before. Then she remebered, she saw it on Dean, this was his necklace. That's when she noticed the note attached to the leather strap. It was written in Sam's hand writing and it read:

"He loved you.

Dean Winchester
1979-2011"

Jo placed her free hand over her mouth as she gasped. She turned and ran to her bedroom, tears flowing freely down her face. Her mother followed her, and after consoling her daughter she picked up the note and read it herself, not being able to make out what Jo was saying through her sobs. She too started to cry when she read it and she held her sobbing daughter close. Jo had always wanted to hear from Dean again, but she didnt want it to be like this.

Neither one of them ever heard from Sam again, but they heard of him from hunters who came through the Roadhouse. Sam Winchester, the man who had become the greatest hunter of them all. Sam Winchester who still drove his brother's old Chevy Impala, fixing it up whenever he needed. Sam Winchester who gathered an army of gifted children and defeated the demon who took his mother and girlfriend.
