"If Everyone Cared"

By: MysticFireBlood

Summary: Songfic: "If Everyone Cared" by: Nickleback. A reflection of Asuma and Ame.

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto, not the character. Ame, however, is my original character.

Ame was sitting in her room. She was staying at the back of her door and looking at the shiro-maku. She would be getting married in 12 hours. She couldn't be happier. She would be marrying the man she had been in love with since she was seven, Sarutobi Asuma.

Asuma was lying on his bed looking up at the ceiling. In just 10 hours he and Ame were going to get married. He was reflecting on his relationship with her.

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

That's how it started. Well, their grown-up relationship. For her it was one-sided from the age of seven, but for them it was from the time she graduated and becoming a genin, but being under age, there was nothing that they could do about it, not until that night.

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

Six hours to go before she would walk down the aisle and marry the man she had loved for all of her life. She had to keep pinching herself and making sure it was real.

Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive

The doors open and the crowd stood. Asuma, who was dressed in a black trimmed in blue kimono robe with the 12 Guard Ninjas of Fire symbol on his back, was standing at the end of the aisle. His hair was down and he was not smoking. Kakashi, his best man, was wearing a black trimmed in red kimono with the symbol of the ANBU on his back. His face was uncovered, and he had on an eye patch over his sharingan eye. They looked down the aisle and there stood Iruka, Ame's cousin, and Ame. She had on a shiro-maku.

As they walked down the aisle, Asuma was smiling. He couldn't believe it. He was finally getting married.

At the reception they was dancing to, "If everyone cared", Asuma stayed at his beautiful, young wife. "You are beautiful to me. Do you know that?" She smiled back and said, "As you are too me. I love you Asuma! I always have and always will". He kissed her and they continued to dance.
