Coalesce

4:00 a.m.

The clock said that. Yami and Serenity were in bed together, their hands intertwining under the covers. A few hours ago, Serenity confessed her love to him as he reciprocated those emotions, and the next thing they knew, they slept together.

And to think that she thought he was just a spirit within Yugi but after a while, she felt attracted to him, and vice versa. The tri-colored haired man wore his jeans in bed, but her, she wore nothing, free to feel the covers with her naked skin. By that time, he was the only one up, staring at the unfamiliar ceiling.

The question he had in his head all night after their endeavors was killing him; he had to know what she thought of what happened between them, to get the nagging feeling out of his head. Sure, she was attractive, both physically and sexually, but there was something about her that made him yearn for her far more than just her looks. She was special…in her own way.

"Serenity?" Yami asked, his beautiful violet eyes never leaving the strange thing above them.

She stirred a bit, glancing at the person beside her. "Yes?"

He blinked a couple of times, trying to find the right words. "Well, umm…uh…you know the, um, thing we did a few hours before? Well, umm...would you…could you…tell me how it felt? What was it like?"

Her face tinted pink, Serenity thought hard to find the right words. And she did. "Well, um --- I guess it was sort of like a whole new experience for me… Giving in to my sexual desires and being fulfilled. I guess Joey would think I'm pretty disgusting if he finds out."

Yami fell silent for a few short moments. And I think I know why. He looked to his right absently, an initial reaction, if you will.

"Why do you think that? Is it because of…umm…you know?" He inquired.

Serenity's hazel orbs didn't budge. "Y-yes. As much as we both enjoyed it, I don't really think that the others would approve, if they ever find out, that is."

The person next to her said little. He smiled somewhat, thinking of something. "Aren't all things enjoyable not always approved by others?"

"Good point. I guess not; well, that's OK with me." She replied, her words genuine.

Yami glanced at Serenity slightly, the respect for her growing. "Huh…I'm impressed; usually I don't meet people as smart as you, but I guess you're one of the lucky ones."

Serenity's cheeks reddened once again, flattered at his sincerity. But just to make sure…

"Are you being sarcastic?" she asked.

"No, not at all." Yami responded, calm as one could be.

"Ok. Just checking." Serenity said. As she settled back under the covers, she then felt his soft lips kiss her neck only once before he settled down as well.

And with that, the two eventually let their minds sleep, temporarily letting themselves into dreamland.
