Fleeting Moment

Short little SasuSaku drabble that popped into my head during the Third Hokage's funeral episode. :3

The sand began to fall as the beast known as Shukaku crumbled to the ground, loosening it's grip around the prone girl attached to the tree trunk before finally falling completely. The girl fell down, down, down, presumably to her death, when a black flash came out of nowhere and caught her mid fall. Sasuke breathed a quiet sigh of relief as she fell into his arms with a soft thump, still completely unconscious.
Damn. That was really close. The two of them fell for a moment and he looked down, calculating the distance between their current midair position and the tree branch where Pakkun rested. He waited until he was one-hundered percent sure the pug couldn't see him, before leaning down and barely brushing Sakura's forehead with his lips, a silent and tender gesture most unusual for the Uchiha.
Pakkun could barely help snickering as the boy set her down next to him and muttered, "Watch her for me." before disappearing to help his other teammate.
"Ah, young love. I'll have to mention this to Kakashi before I leave..." he sighed and settled down to watch the kunoichi who had managed to win the stoic Uchiha Sasuke's affection, or at least what little there was of it.

I think I might write a sequel to this. What do you guys think?
