Hm... this is shorter then what i wanted... But i still like it. More fluff then the other one, and I don't plan to make a sequal to this one. It's too irritating thinking up something for a oneshot that's a plausible StormBramble. They re really good togeather though...
Stormfur had not gone back to the Tribe of Rushing Water. He had waited, just as he promised, at the top of the mountain for the one he loved. He sighed for the thousandth time on the thousandth day he had climbed to the highest point to watch for Brambleclaw, and each day he had not come.
He would pace some days, flick at flowers nearby the next, hunt for most of the day, or explore his territory. All thoughts of Brook slipped from his mind, and now he waited for the day Brambleclaw would come to live with him.
All he wanted was his love, his one true love. The one he had confessed his true love too, and not a false love to cover it up.
And then, one day he came. Long-legged and golden eyed, picking his way up the mountain with the strength of a thousand warriors. His pelt was dripping with water, which he had later told Stormfur, disguised his scent, and made it weaker, so it was less easy to follow.
"I thought you would never come," whispered Stormfur, jumping down to Brambleclaw from his perch and touching noses closely with him. Brambleclaw purred and snuggled his face into Stormfurs fluffy neck.
"I told you I would," he meowed quietly, "I promised you. I left Squirrelfight, just like how you left Brook, and I came here to live with you for an eternity."
Stormfur licked his ear, "You took your time thinking about it, didn't you?" he began leading Brambleclaw up the mountain to the cave he made as his nest.
"It took me a while to realize that Squirrelflight didn't want to be with me anymore," he meowed, "And besides, Ashfur was moving in on her."
"I know the feeling," Stormfur smiled, lying down in his nest, "Crag was getting to Brook as well."
"It's good to be with you again," murmured Brambleclaw, curling up in the curve of Stormfurs lean body, eyes closing. Stormfur licked the top of his head and smiled.
"Remember, we said this was going to be for an eternity," he meowed, resting his head on Brambleclaws neck, "And though we may not be the perfect pair of mates." He sighed, "We still love each other."
"We still love each other," murmured Brambleclaw as he drifted to sleep against Stormfurs warm body.
Yay! -gloats in glory for a few seconds- As noted, I like BrookCrag and AshfurSquirrel better then StormBrook and BrambleSquirrel. Review, i want to hear your thoughts!
