Ok this is my first Harry Potter fic and well... it's rather sappy. I didn't use a beta for it because I wanted to see how I could do on my own. So Please review and go ahead and Flame cause I need some amusement. I will give feedback and would love some constructive critisim. Also, I wrote this while listening to Alison Krauss' 'When you say nothing at all ' But didn't want to make it a songfic so if you know the song it might help to set the mood for the story.
Disclaimer- Dude, Don't own so don't sue.
Excuse my fluffy-ness.
Draco sat starring out of his bedroom window, his temple rested against the cool surface of the glass. His breath fogging his reflection as he exhaled with a sigh. He had lost track of time, unknowingly sitting there for a little over an hour. His mother's funeral had been that afternoon and he, as expected, hadn't shed a tear. He only sat next to his father with an unreadable expression and slightly glossy eyes. He was certain he had caught his father watching him a few times during the service but dismissed it as a longing to be noticed by the older Malfoy.
Blinking at the unsuspected sound of footsteps, Draco stirred on the window sill and looked around his room just in time to see his door open. The tall graceful form of his father entered the room and quietly closed the door behind himself with a wave of his wand. The dim sunlight coming from the window cast a slightly eerie light on the elder Malfoy as he made his way across the room to his son.
Draco watched in a weary kind of trance as Lucius' robes drifted elegantly around him with each step he took. Letting his eyes roam over his father form, his gaze finally rested on his eyes. Mirror like to his own he found himself drowning in them, drowning in their secrets, in their beautifully swirling depths. Draco's breath hitched as he realized that he hadn't noticed when his father sat next to him and wrapped an arm around his thin shoulders.
Lucius pulled Draco to lean against his side with one arm, the other went to the teens face gently stroking his cheek." Are you alright, My Dragon?" His usual arrogant tone lost for the moment as he himself found a deep sadness settling itself over him. He rested his chin on the top of his heirs silky blond mop of hair.
Draco closed his eyes, content with being held. With as rare as affection was in his family he knew when to enjoy it if it came his way." Yes. I just..." He lost his voice was he thought of his mother. Her smile at his first broom ride and how she had laughed when he slipped off it two feet in the air and landed clumsily on his bottom. He rested a creamy white hand on his father knee and looked up at the older blond. He found his father eyes hypnotic once more, seeing more emotions there than he ever imagined they could hold. Leaning up he softly kissed his fathers cheek." I guess I just wish I could have spent more time with her. That's all." He smiled weakly before leaning his head back against Lucius' chest.
Lucius smiled at the small gesture from his child. Running his fingers through Draco's semi-short blond hair he tilted his Dragons head back so he could see his face. In that one moment their eyes met and everything was as it was meant to be. They knew everything the other was feeling, thinking and needing. In that one moment in time there was an understanding born between them that no one else would ever know. Because in truth they knew that whatever they wanted to say was best said when not spoke at all.
Yeah yeah, I know it's short. But if you guys liked it I might write another, maybe Yaoi because yaoi is good for the soul.
