A small sigh.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
He shifted his gaze from the flowers in his hand to the object in front of him.
"You never asked." A simple answer. A lie … but an answer none the less.
"Bullshit."
The wind blew softly around them, caressing their skin.
"I know."
Eyes narrowed slightly.
"Then why lie?"
"Felt right at the time." A small shrug of narrow shoulders.
The young man frowned, dazzling blue eyes trained on the slim figure in front of him.
"I know."
"That's good."
"I could tell them you know."
Crimson eyes turned towards the speaker.
"You wouldn't."
"What makes you so sure?"
A soft, sad smile flittered across full lips.
"Because you love me."
"Is that why you killed him?"
A nod.
"For me?"
Another nod. A few tentative steps towards blue eyes.
Blue eyes stepped back. "I'm sorry. I can't Kai."
Crimson eyes froze in place.
"Why?"
"You killed … for me …"
"To be with you … he was being … abusive …"
Blue eyes widened then softened slightly, taking in the small, vulnerable appearance of the other.
"I can't … I'm sorry, Kai. It's for the best."
Blue eyes walked away. Heart breaking with every step.
Flowers fell to the ground. Petals flying and dancing in the breeze. Crimson eyes, Kai, fell to the ground. Crystalline tears trailed slowly down porcelain cheeks.
"For you …" a soft, broken whisper. "I killed him for you, Miguel …"
Miguel stopped, but didn't turn around.
"I know …"
"Then why are you walking away?"
"Because Tala didn't deserve to die …"
Crystalline tears shattered on the floor.
"But it was for you …"
Miguel carried on walking. Tears falling slowly.
"I know …"
He was gone. Both of them were gone.
"For you … it was all for you …"
Two hearts shattered soon after.
"For you …"
