Just shoot me…I'm never working at a job that takes what I call "my life" away. Its 4/15/15. Sorry for the IMMENSE delay.

Let's Start the SHOW~

Chapter 38, The Night is Still Young

Dark stared at the suds on his hands as he washed the dishes, hearing Daisuke clean the table with the cloth he had given him. He had to put what occurred moments before behind him. It wasn't the time to act out in any way.

'That demon's real name…huh?' Dark started to remember all that Daisuke had spoken to him about. He slightly shook his head from side to side. 'Revenge isn't the answer, yet anything I do now would look and feel very much like it. The best I can do for now is…'

He tilted his head upwards, sensing the increased amount of energy coming from Hiroko's room. 'Seeing what I can do for the people around me now…'

"Dark, I'm finished wiping the table." Daisuke said, now facing Dark's back, expecting the other to turn to him and offer him a ride home. It felt like years since he seen his family. Yet, it strangely felt like home, all this time, being with the people he met at the beginning of the school year. Strangely enough, even the mansion felt cozy and warm to him when he entered it tonight.

"Alright, let's get you home then" Dark turned, putting a straight face on as he led Daisuke out of the kitchen. The red head hadn't suspected much from the slight change in demeanor Dark was displaying. As the two drew near to the entrance, Dark picked up Daisuke's bag from a table that was conveniently placed beside the doors and handed it to Dai.

"Hold that for me, will you? I need to show you something" said Dark, now showing a playful smile on his face that Daisuke was clearly used to. Nonetheless, the boy questioned what the other had in mind to do with just a look.

"Come with me" Dark said as he took Daisuke's hand and pulled him to the back doors where the backyard was. Just as Dark opened the backyard, Dai took in the scene and found…. nothing. A tick formed at the side of his head as he figured that maybe Dark was pulling his leg.

"There's nothing here Dark…" Dai said, not liking the delay to him going home.

"Ah but that's the thing –!" Dark abruptly stopped himself from speaking more as he swooped his arms under the boy and carried him bridal style into the air, taking off with tremendous speed as he let his excitement get the better of him. He had even chuckled a little as he heard the red head in his arms scream from the sudden ascend to the clouds. In a much calmer tone of voice, Dark looked down at the boy that had clutched his bag in his arms and said, "I never said where or what it was I'd show you"

Daisuke snapped at him as he opened his eyes to see the other. "Apparently you forgot to mention it requires flight!"

"What? You scared of heights or something?" Dark teased, questioning what he already knew and making Dai squirm in possible anger from it. Looking down at the boy in his arms, the face matching his eyes and hair, Dark could definitely tell that he was angry. He snickered.

"You could have given me a heads up or something…" Daisuke muttered, turning his red face to the side and catching a glimpse of the world below. City lights were decorating all the streets, splashing yellowish-white light on houses and trees. He stayed looking at the scene in awe while Dark caught his reaction, looking back every once in a while. He smiled to himself, liking the calmness as he flew towards Dai's home, close to the water. Daisuke shivered, realizing the height of where he was must have made it colder. He made his body shrink into Dark's as much as possible. Without missing a beat, Dark held him closer, providing as much warmth as he could. Autumn nights were so chilly. He had forgotten that any other person that was human should get the chills up in this altitude. He grinned, though. Dark had wanted a quiet night like this one with the red head, chilly winds included.

"Sorry, Dai, we'll make it to your home pretty soon so try to keep warm while you still can" Dark said, looking at the ground instead of the ruby red eyes that looked back at him. Daisuke nodded absentmindedly. He only partially listened. The whole moment seemed so surreal to him. It was incredibly nice to him. The chilly winds had come with a familiar sense of nostalgia, like an unknown good memory trying to creep into his mood and making the moment feel…

Right. This moment feels right... Daisuke thought, smiling a pleasant smile as he closed his eyes and rested his head in the nape of Dark's neck. He, for once, is letting himself relish in this comforting feeling.

Dark, feeling the boy in his arms shift to a way-too-comforting position, moved his head slightly to try and see Dai relaxing in his arms, without disturbing him. He slowed down, just a little, as he looked back and spotted the Niwa residence. He didn't want this to end but he felt that he should make sure Daisuke went home without any disturbances from 'outside forces'.

His expression turned into a dead panned one as he remembered that there was always something trying to ruin his night. 'Oh no they don't. Not this time. I'll just leave Daisuke before anything stupid happens again.'

He gently descended towards a nearby tree, making sure no one looked as well as not alert Dai. Though, the red head already felt a difference in wind currents from earlier. Dai opened his eyes and lifted his head, feeling slightly disoriented. As if he had slept and not taken enough time to sleep. He looked around as Dark balanced his body and grabbed onto a branch, hiding his wings into his back. They were close to his home now. Daisuke felt a little deflated that his ride towards his home ended so soon but he got a hold of himself and tried to be fully alert. After all, they just landed around a tree in his neighborhood. Anyone could have been seeing them through the windows.

"Well, here we are, home sweet home" Dark announced as he let Daisuke slip slowly from his left arm, while still holding onto a branch, to the sidewalk. Daisuke had to put the handle of his school bag through his wrist in order to hold Dark's arm while he went down. They tried not to make a sound as the read head had reached the ground, followed by Dark just jumping a short distance down from the branch he held. To Dai, It was very much like seeing a cat land on his feet.

The two took a look around then let their eyes linger on the front of Daiuske's home.

Both didn't seem to move as they just stared, remembering all the things they went through together in such a short time span. Was it really only half a month since that all happened? Well, none of them seemed to be counting at this rate. Not when you had weird angelic-demonic forces bothering you constantly.

"Aren't you going in?" Dark broke the ice first, finally deciding for real this time that Daisuke was to go home. Though, he did say it quietly, as if not to imply that he wanted him inside already.

Daisuke, a little numb from, well, everything, looked slightly to his right as Dark stood beside him. "I –I will. Just…it's been a long time…"

Dark couldn't help but smile and pat the boy's back. "It's fine. I'll stay until you get inside."

"Thanks…"

Dark, removed his hand from Daisuke's back and lingered there with him for a few minutes more. The wind picked up slightly every few seconds as the two stared at what else they may have to face: A not so worried family that knew nothing about what was actually happening or going to happen. How was Daisuke supposed to react, then? In that regard, no one knew what would happen. Except…

'Looks like I'll have to visit Towa sometime…' Dark thought, remembering of his psychic friend. He may have been a sort of a substitute angel but angels aren't really able to see into the future. They are given the ability to do so only when they are sent with a task. He had none, nor did he have connections to Heaven. But having a psychic does help. He was grateful for that.

"Okay, I'm going in. Wish me luck." Daisuke suddenly said, breaking Dark's train of thought and making him look forward as the boy was already in front of him. Dark nodded, smiling a small smile while having his hands in his pockets.

"You just try to act natural, ok?" Dark said.

"Ok!" Daisuke said, both males talking a little loudly now that they had a few feet of distance from each other. Both smiled at one another as Daisuke opened his small gate to his home and closed the front door. All the while maintaining eye contact. Once that door was closed, a thought ran through Dark's head: 'I forgot to tell him about all the stuff I did…'

He thought about it again, looking up at the night sky. 'You know what? It doesn't matter.'

Dark began walking towards the shopping district, tucking further his wings onto his body and making them fade out.

'He'll tell me all about how I messed up later…' he thought as he went on his merry way.

With Daisuke

Daisuke leaned on the door with his back on it, shrugging off the bag from his wrist. A wave of thoughts filled his head as he sat there, not yet having to announce his entry.

'No one knows. None of my family members know of the situation I'm in…I hope...' He thought, glancing down the normal looking hallway. 'I'm sure Dark hadn't done anything that would hint at that….right?'

Daisuke shook his head, his eyes shown a positive sign of his thoughts. 'This is Dark we're talking about! He didn't even show a single sign that he and Hiroko-san were angels. I'm sure nothing that major happened in my home while I was asleep.'

With the resolution of having more trust in Dark, Daisuke stood up and took a step into the hallway. He had in mind to remove his shoes once he stepped a few feet into his home-

"AHHHHHHHHH!" Daisuke screamed as he hung by the edge of his wooded floor. Below him was nothing but pitch black darkness, not knowing if it was a hole made out of dirt or how far down it goes. He was pretty glad he and his bag were still at the edge.

"Wha-What is this hole doing here…? Is this a trap door?" Daisuke shakily questioned as he looked down. Footsteps could be heard coming his way and he couldn't help thinking for a moment that they weren't the steps of a person worried about where his screaming came from…

"Oh sweetie, I thought you would have seen that one coming like the last time." Said Emiko as she made her way over to her son, stopping at the other side of the hole. Daisuke tried his best at getting back up and onto his wooded floor. He didn't have the best upper body strength as he did sleep for a week. Emiko's brow rose as she saw him struggle onto the floor. She took out a remote control and pressed a button to close off the trap. To say Daisuke was freaked out was an understatement.

He looked at where he was going to fall and up to his mother's shockingly disappointed face. You'd think she wanted for him to fall with such a face.

"Mom…what's going on here?" Daisuke asked, composing himself as he stared at his mother.

"What do you mean what's going on? Don't you remember that you said you wanted your family to support you for the future?" Emiko asked, reminding the boy she thought was the same from last week. He was 100% clueless to what she was trying to say, though, with blank eyes staring back at her.

Emiko helped her son up and dusted him off a bit. She continued.

"You said you wanted to go into making your own stunts in movies and plays, remember?"

'WHAT?!' Daisuke thought, alarms sounding off in his head before ever yelling the words out. He grew pale just thinking about it.

"You tried to convince your father and I to support you in that dream of yours and we didn't have much of a problem with making your regimen. Of course, we thought that you wanted to do paintings, since you're so good at them, but you assured us that it was only going to be a side job or something." Emiko reminisced. Completely oblivious to Daisuke's draining face as she talked.

A shaky, single thought ran through his mind then.

'So…Dark convinced my parents…to do my own stunts in movies?!' Daisuke thought, leaning on the wall closest to him as he place a hand over his eyes. 'Perfect. I don't know if I'll be able to keep this a secret from my family for much longer and here he goes messing it up even further…'

A tick formed on his forehead as he removed his had from his eyes, turning it into a fist. 'If I can just get my hands on him –!'

Daisuke was interrupted from his thoughts when Emiko took his attention with the clearing of her throat.

"Sweetie, you can do it." Said Emiko with a warm smile. It took Daisuke by surprise. He felt rooted to the floor as he looked at his mother; brown eyes meeting red.

"It's just like you said, this is so you won't have any accidents and be able to be safe. You would be able to run away from people that try to harm you and you would even come home without a scratch when you sleep over at your friend's home."

Daisuke felt his chest tighten. Memories of Dark flooded his mind. He thought he could be mad at the guy but now he started to see why so many crazy things happened.

"I feel happy knowing that you have more friends trying to look out for you. Give my thanks to that young man who is helping you with your goals." Emiko said, having come close to Dai while she talked and placed a hand on her son's shoulder. A strange relief came over Daisuke. As if he didn't need to worry about explaining much to his mother about what was going on. He smiled, now not so afraid of what was to come for his 'regimen'.

"I will mom. Thanks." Said Daisuke. His mom nodded, turned and invited her red headed son over to the kitchen for some dessert.

Before reaching the kitchen, though, he had to fall on the floor. Deliberately. Just to avoid the small arrows that came his way.

With Satoshi

He didn't think he could have tricked Risa into thinking that his home was one of the many old homes around his neighborhood. At least, he didn't think he would use anyone for it. He had luck, having nice people for neighbors who thought that he was having a rough time with his mother. It was bothersome at some points, but he was grateful each time they showed him a little bit of kindness.

Once Risa was convinced that he lived with his 'grandparents', he waited for her to be out of his view before rushing to his once peaceful home. There were many mansions around this town. His happened to be one of them. Unlike the one that they were in a week before, that being of the old man's, this one looked like a Victorian styled mansion of sorts.

Not too many details were present of the mansion. It had been taken over by dead vines. Mostly on the sides of the building and its front.

He walked towards the entrance, now giving it a disdainful glare. Fishing his keys out from his left pocket, he tried to feel for anything, sense anything at all.

Nothing.

There was nothing he could feel. No spirit. No demon. Not even a person nearby. It was a general feeling of being alone. He noted the night was quiet around him and even chilly. Satoshi had on his winter uniform and had felt the cold bite of the wind once in a while. He was fine with being somewhat isolated at school but ever since Hachirou came into the picture, he didn't like it so much.

Satoshi was about to open the door with his keys when a gust of wind swooped on by, making him feel the cold full force. He clenched his jaw as he let his hands go to his sides. He'd be okay with this if he had a sweater. In a quick movement, he left the front of the door and walked straight out of the neighborhood.

'I don't need this right now. I have no solution to what is going on and I need to think straight.' Satoshi thought, idly looking around as the street lights illuminated the rest of the way towards the shopping district of the town.

'Guess I'll indulge myself for a while…' he thought, reluctantly finding a small piece of calmness in the thought alone.

With Risa

"Ri…"

"sa…"

"Risa…"

"RISA!"

Fiery, maroon eyes stared back at startled brown ones. Risa hadn't noticed that her sister was calling for her. Riku looked at her with sympathetic eyes now, looking from the hairbrush and back to her eyes.

"What's going on, Risa?" Riku asked.

Risa blinked then looked at the hairbrush, realizing that she had been combing her hair for almost an hour. She placed it back on her table, a small tint of pink rising from her cheeks.

"Nothings going on, Riku. I just have a lot on my mind." Said Risa. Yes, she did have a lot on her mind. Like how she ended up enjoying a certain boy's company. Like how his eyelashes were unfairly long. Like how she had a hunch that Satoshi didn't really go home. Looking suspiciously at her sister, Riku raised an eyebrow as she spoke again.

"It has nothing to do with you dropping out of that princess challenge, right?"

Risa turned the other way on her chair, almost slamming the brush as she exasperatedly sighed.

"Ugh, Riku, I already told you everything!" Said Risa as she headed for her bed, sprawling herself as she fell on it. She wanted to be alone with her thoughts. The brunette wanted to think.

"Alright already!" Began Riku, also fed up with how the conversation was going. She made her way towards the door when she stopped in her tracks and looked out the window. Her maroon eyes reflected her thoughts as the night sky met the distant horizon. Not many stars were present but she could see the patterns that the red head had pointed out to her last week. She didn't know why, but she noticed it right away that he wasn't acting like himself. Although, she had decided to not investigate any further after that night, Riku wasn't sure on letting Daisuke off the hook just yet.

Then again, she did see that he was his clumsy self again today.

She shook her head from side to side and proceeded out the door. Her sister wondered what she had been thinking. Probably about that night with the bird of light coming out of nowhere.

When they were both curious on the location, they found the place in ruins. Being more curious than her younger sister, Risa had went straight for the protruding sword that had been stuck in the middle of the place and took it out.

Even now, the thing had been, most likely, under said girl's bed. Riku had a sweat drop around her head. She'd have to take that away from Risa later when the other wasn't there. She continued down the stairs, hoping to get a snack in the kitchen herself instead of letting the servants do it.

Back in Risa's room, the girl's brown eyes had stared up at the ceiling, idly thinking back to the day's events. If it were to have been anyone else, she would have thought it would have been a boring to slightly entertaining day. Yet Hiwatari Satoshi had been able to make her feel all sorts of things. Things she wasn't sure of what they were.

"Aaah!" Risa yelled in fustration, lifting herself off the bed and shaking her head from side to side.

"It doesn't matter! Why am I still thinking about this?!" Risa asked herself. "Jeez, let me just distract myself with something…"

The brunette got up from her bed and tried to walk to her closet when she tripped. Luckily she had caught herself on the nightstand. A tad angrier than she was before, Risa looked down to whatever that made her practically break her face. A silvery, somewhat rusty with grime, sword had protruded from below the bed. It's handle sticking out where the moonlight shone, giving it a dull sparkle to it. It did make her feel a bit entranced.

She reached for the handle, it's cool touch felt refreshing in a strange way. As if an electrifying power would go through her at any moment from the sword. Risa held it upwards, still feeling quite mesmerized and forgetting it made her trip.

"I wonder what I'll do with you…" Risa said, half conscious with what she was doing with the object at hand. She really wanted to do something with it, but what? It was a compelling feeling. Nonetheless, its hold on her was weak and she stopped feeling so entrance, little by little.

"I wish…" Risa started before she heard a knock on the door. Forgetting right away what she was going to say, she looked from the door and back at the sword. She placed it under her bed quickly before telling the person to come in.

The dull sparkle on the sword went away slowly, waning as the darkness enveloped it.

With Satoshi

"Alright, a coffee with milk and an apple croissant. Coming right up!" said the cheery waitress girl. Her sandy brown hair had been messily picked up into a bun, which now seemed to be close to falling. Her violet eyes immediately looked at anywhere but at the blue haired boy sitting in front of her. A tint of pink blush shone on her cheeks, and Satoshi was fairly sure she didn't have makeup on.

Whatever. He wasn't in the mood for such things.

'Then that Risa girl shouldn't be in my mind…' A little voice told him, reminding him of the day's events. Honestly, he didn't know why she popped up in his head. He was probably stuck with the only difference: Risa being sweet compared to her usual demeanor, and that's 'probably' why he had her in mind even now.

Yeah, probably.

He loosened his collar.

Satoshi had found a rather nice diner in the shopping district. Somewhat quiet and had a feeling of what people would call 'like home'. It relaxed him immensely but not entirely. He still had thoughts of what he needed to do, as well with a brunette occupying his mind.

'How or where am I supposed to seduce Niwa?' Satoshi thought. He could act very well. He can even wing it and still be able to fool anyone; yet he could not think of how to seduce the same gender. He supposed he could learn from Krad but that wouldn't be too good of an impression for a 'lady'. He needed to seduce the boy enough to get information out of him and possibly get him to the mansion.

Not make him into a lovesick toy...

He shuddered at that. He did not like the idea one bit. He had never before thought of being kissed or touched by the same gender before Hachirou and Krad came along but he very much felt sick of it all already. He was just almost willing to give up the chance of ever getting with anyone and spend the rest of his years on Earth alone. To anyone else that may seem to be a sad and outrageous thing to do. Then again, he didn't care of what others thought.

A small plate containing a croissant filled with diced, caramelized apples and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream was suddenly placed within his view, waking him up of his thoughts and looking back at the waitress. She had only then placed the coffee and a small tin jug on the side with a sheepish smile.

"Here you go, the apple croissant and your coffee. The milk's right on the side." Said the waitress as she timidly addressed the order. It had been awhile since Satoshi received such attention from young women but he decided not to be too indifferent this time and stuck with a natural 'thanks'.

The girl was about to leave when she doubled back a step and politely spoke. "Um, I haven't seen you from around these parts but I have seen you around campus."

'...She must be from the high school...' Satoshi immediately thought. Already retrieving info on the lady in front of him.

"Do you happen to be the son of Inspector Hiwatari? You two seem to look alike." The girl asked. Satoshi's eyebrow twitched, his glasses not permitting to show his eyes in the angle he was at. He shifted after a couple of seconds, showing an icy glare.

"Yes, I am." Answered Satoshi. Closing off any more possibilities of a casual conversation. The waitress blushed in response, feeling embarrassed and awkward. She excused herself and hurriedly walked towards the other end of the counter.

Satoshi sighed to himself. The question had ruined his mood. He looked back at his croissant and his coffee when he heard a low whistle right behind him. He felt like he didn't need to turn around in order to know who that was.

"Man, you really are easy with the ladies, huh?" A more masculine voice had said, approaching the haired boy casually.

'What bad timing. Now what does he want?' Thought Satoshi, getting irritated.

"Is it any of your concern what I do with whomever talks to me?" Satoshi asked, keeping the question curt and giving off the impression that it was a rhetoric question. Yet the other answered.

"Everyone deserves respect, especially the ladies, 'Inspector Hiwatari'~" The man mocked, already giving the image of a Cheshire cat grinning.

Satoshi cocked his head as he snorted, "Keep it up, Mousy."

Dark continued grinning as he took his hands out of his pockets and sat beside the boy.

"Your fun to pick on, you know?" Dark commented as he poked Satoshi's arm. The boy decided now would be a good time to start eating and ignore the young man sitting beside him. This nust made Dark call the same girl back for an order, though.

"Hey, Kiki! Come here and get me the usual for me!" Dark hollered, startling the waitress and making her blush when she realized who it was. Yes, Satoshi knew how popular with the girls Dark Mousy was but he didn't need to see the facts in action.

Dark looked back at him. He felt the amethyst eyes on him. Blue eyes shifted away from the others' stare.

"I usually come here on some nights..." Said Dark, in a quiet tone, almost a whisper. The two stayed quiet for a few minutes.

"Its a relaxing atmosphere, huh?" Dark asked, not expecting an answer. Satoshi reluctantly nodded, though. There was something to agree upon. It felt alright to do so.

"Girls like sweet, small things to eat. I guess it makes them feel good." Continued Dark. The boy beside him wasn't sure where he was going with this.

Dark placed his arms on the counter top as he opened his mouth again, "Next time you want to apologize to a girl and you aren't sure of how, just give her something small and sweet. I'm sure you'll get the idea of what to give in."

Satoshi looked up at the the young man, puzzled. Was he making him apologize? Now that he thought about it, it seemed like the right thing to do. Dark was acting strange. He sounded ten times more mature than he looked.

"Changing topics," said Dark, completely derailing what he had previously build up to be an actual, serious conversation between Senpai and Kouhai. He grinned as he lifted his upper arm and pinned his hand under his left side jaw, looking towards the boy. "I heard your with a giiiiirrrl~ who's the lucky chick?"

He just felt like bothering Satoshi.

A massive tick appeared on the blue head and Satoshi leaned on the counter with his arms crossed on top of it, pushing the plate as he made way.

"Why don't you go clubbing or something? You're starting to give me a headache."

"Ah! That hurt! Don't be so cold. There's enough of that outside." Dark gestured at the window, where the cold nipped at anyone's skin. The young man settled down, going back to the position he took before and gave a mischievous glance back at the other.

"So…have you fallen yet?" Dark asked.

A flash back of a brunette girl sleeping on the bed instantly came to mind, making Satoshi's eyes widen for a sec or two. That startled him. He tried to compose himself only to go rigid at the end.

"Hmm~ Looks like you have!" said Dark while having the biggest smile on. "I can see it now –"

'So much for relaxing. This conversation isn't going anywhere…' Satoshi thought, tuning out the guy next to him. After a few minutes of contemplating what to do next, he heard something that had stopped his thoughts.

"Bet you can't even charm her with that scowl you got." Dark said last. Satoshi looked at him, stunned. Charm. He knew he needed a way to get to his classmate but he hadn't known how.

'Maybe I can see how to go about that now with this guy…' Satoshi thought.

"Hm? What?" Dark asked, noticing the stupefied face the boy had. Said boy relaxed himself on to the counter as he collected his thoughts.

"So, how would you say I go about this?" Satoshi worded carefully. He now had a plan.

"What? About treating a girl right?" Dark asked. He had a feeling Satoshi was asking for multiple reasons. He shrugged the bad thoughts away quickly.

"Well, I do need to take care of myself. I'm sure there are also enchantresses out there, too. That gets in the way when I'm in one of my Father's missions." Satoshi said, making sure he didn't spit the Father out as if it was the most putrid thing on the planet.

"Oh~ I get you. Look, since you're in middle school and pretty damn young, I'll tell you." Said Dark, smirking as he looked back at Satoshi. Cool, blue eyes looked back with satisfaction. He finally had what he wanted in his grasp.

"There's a catch, though! ~" Dark announced, a little louder now. This put the other in alert.

"You get to apologize to that girl over there" Dark said, pointing at the waitress that he called Kiki. Satoshi didn't need to look but he followed towards where Dark pointed at. Kiki was talking to a client and seemed to enjoy doing so. She glanced around to see if anyone needed anything when she locked her violet eyes with blue ones. She instantly looked away.

"Looks like she can't even look at you" said Dark, enjoying what he saw. Satoshi ignored this. He decided that to be charming he had to be nice. For him to express any form of apology, he had to invite her in. He looked at Dark for a moment and then commenced his small plan. Dark just stared with a poker face as Satoshi took the fork from the counter and pretended to have butter fingers, dropping it on the floor. It made a sound loud enough to catch the waitress' attention. Looking to where the noise came from, she turned her head and saw Satoshi picking the silverware up and looking at it with a slight frown. She went to him right away, taking another fork out from under the counter.

Kiki didn't even realize what she was doing before she looked back at Satoshi, her smile prepared for an apologetic customer grew somewhat stiff as she saw blue eyes. Her hand, ready in mid air with a clean fork to hand in. Satoshi's expression changed to that of an apologetic one. Anyone who had remotely known of him would have been stunned.

Dark had to do a double take in order to get what he was seeing. The most he's seen of the little guy was a permanent, serious expression around the set.

Kiki was also taken aback. She didn't expect what was coming next.

"Thanks" Satoshi said as he lightly took the fork from the waitress' hand. Unconsciously trading the fork with a clean one, Kiki remained rooted as Satoshi looked at her hand and started with a subtle, gentle voice.

"Look, I'm sorry about earlier. I hadn't intended to hurt your feelings." Satoshi said. He then looked up into her eyes, and braced himself as he normally wouldn't be acting out like this.

"I'm sorry for being a jerk to you"

The girl's eyes widened and she stayed frozen there for a couple of minutes. Dark felt that she saw something in that moment. His eyes grew to deadpanned ones as he figured that Satoshi definitely had the skill to enchant a girl. He felt slightly nauseous witnessing this while he could not yet bother the other. He turned his head, for good measure, and pretended to vomit. He quickly turned back around and continued to see the boy's plan unfold.

"N-no, it's alright..." Kiki stuttered, now with a shade of pink on her cheeks. She smiled shyly as she made her way back to the other customers.

Satoshi dropped the act and looked at Dark with his serious face back in place.

"There. Now tell me."

Dark had a deadpanned expression on his features. "Yeah yeah, now that I've seen you at work, I'm not entirely convinced you need any advice but -" Dark then smirked, "Sure, why not. A deals a deal after all."

For once, Satoshi had a small smile of confidence growing on his face as he heard Dark tell him of ways to catch a girl's eye. He had asked himself a couple of times why he would need, out of everybody he knew, Dark Mousey's help but he supposed that whatever came to him at this time should be most appreciated. Or at least accepted.

With Hiroko

It burned.

The sheets were strewn about.

Filled with streaks of blood and feathers.

Other fabrics were all over the place.

The windows were opened and a cool autumn breeze was coming in every so often.

The moon's light did little to illuminate the room. No thanks to the curtains.

The bathroom's light was splashed onto what it could touch.

In a white, back-ripped up tank top, stood Hiroko. She looked back at herself in the mirror. She wasn't sure why she couldn't find Argentine anywhere, why she hardly had any clothes on or why her world burned the moment she felt herself coming to, but she was here now. Starring at herself.

No, not at her flushed face, sweaty self.

The thing behind her.

Dark as blood red feathers were coming out from behind her.

Her body felt numb. Her fingers and legs felt cold. She was sure she was sleeping through a cold sweat. She wasn't sure but she must have ripped her own clothes off from all the blinding heat and pain she had gone through. Even going through the trouble of opening the windows just to see if she could stop burning.

Felt a lot like burning alive.

Now there were, dare she think it, wings on her back; without having any explanation at all of how they got there.

Hiroko finally came back to her senses, albeit slowly. She looked back at the room. The empty room. Her eyebrows frowned as she felt herself start to cry silently, whispering.

"Where are you...?"
